100 South Chop House & Grill
Three - 4oz filets, one topped with bleu cheese, horseradish & parmesan
Baby spinach leaves, plum tomatoes, red onions, hard boiled eggs and warm apple smoked bacon dressing
The outdoor dining was great. Plenty of seating and distancing.
Poor service set the tone. We waited for about 25 minutes after being seated to talk to a server, I had to go to the host stand to ask if there was anyone who could help us. A server came over shortly after. She was very polite and did her best to salvage the situation. We ordered stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer, my wife got a scallop dish and I ordered a filet. Everything was average. I get the feeling that 100 Chop House thinks of itself as an upper-echelon steakhouse. But the quality of the food is more on par with an Applebee's or TGIF. Not horrible by any means, but not something I couldn't find in any suburban shopping center. Why would anyone pay premium prices for average food AND questionable service?
Pictures looked better than in person. Rather noisy. Food was ok. I had the 8 oz filet. I've had much better. Didn't taste like much seasoning/flavor. Broccoli was a stalk of it, al dente, no seasoning, butter, nothing. Caprese salad was good. Overall I was disappointed. It was my husbands birthday. They did bring a lovely desert to share of mud pie that was good. We had no drinks and the bill was $117. I won't be back.
Things are a bit different with COVID so we chose to eat outside. It was perfect weather. They were a bit busy but we were in no hurry. Once they got to us, the timing was perfect going forward. Food was great, the menu had a good number of quality options. Everything cooked as ordered, right temp, delivered timely to our larger group. We will be back
The food and drinks are very good and affordable.
My wife an I live all the way in St. Charles so we make the drive because 100 South is our favorite Steak House. Food and service and quality always excellent we’ve been coming here for years highly recommend it
Service was extremely horrible I’m sorry but If I’m paying a pretty good price to dine here I would like to be talked to more professionally not like I’m at a bar having a beer and pretzels, you are a professional your serving steaks & seafood that’s the brand that says right on the door act like it & talk like it the food on the other hand was outstanding the oysters were HUGE & delicious, steaks were cooked to perfection ! The bus boys were phenomenal never a dirty dish on our table, water was always full, they were on it, they don’t get enough credit for all the hard work they do. We will defiantly be back and hoping for a better service experience
Love the menu variety! The food was perfectly cooked. Steaks were delicious. The service was fabulous! I personally like this better than Gibson’s.
Food was not good at all. Bread was super hard. Salad was bland. Mac and cheese had absolutely no flavor. My husband steak was overly cooked. I know it was their first day being opened but sheesh. Please do better.
Celebrating My Boyfriends Birthday

Will be back
Thank you Dan
Food was great and I appreciated the bottle of red wine being served at cellar temp.
The 100 South Chop House is one of our favorite restaurants in Elmhurst. The steaks and chops are especially good and they have an excellent wine and drink list. We split the Classic Wedge salad and the Double Cut Pork Chop.
It was so nice to be dining out again and their seating was spacious and adequate.
The service and food were great.
We’ll do it again and again.
Everything was great except for the amount of trains that go by. I would dine again ☺️
The food was excellent. Our waiter was great and very respectful, wearing a mask properly. The only thing detracting from the experience was the lack of proper mask protocol by the majority of the wait staff and manager. The inside bar and seating area was also open and packed, without spacing of chairs at the bar or tables. IL is not yet at a phase of reopening and this behavior was quite bothersome.
great restaurant. Outside dining excellent. staff attentive and friendly, service was excellent. Food great
great place great value especially on Sunday with a reservation you get 25% off your entire bill
Always a wonderful time. Dina and Richie are great people with a delightful staff.
We absolutely love this family owned m, quaint restaurant in downtown Elmhurst! The food is amazing!!
Our service was not very good, had to ask for bread, etc., waited close to an hour for food to be served. The food was good, the seating, outdoors was inviting.
Our meal was delicious! Best chicken milanese! We really enjoyed our visit.
Great service and food post quarantine
Great to be out for dinner again- the food was even better than I remembered!
Always great food, service and a nice pour!!
First time at this downtown Elmhurst restaurant. Located just south of the train station. Came at 5:30 and at that time conversation friendly. Varied menu, we had tilapia which was excellent. Generous servings. Beet salad very good. Most tables had good view of trains going by on the Union Pacific west line. Highly recommend.
Our waiter was great, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the food was excellent!
Crazy busy night, superb service Nicolette! Was our first time, everything explained clearly, steaks were good, small portions potatoes, salad delicious.
Overbooked for Valentine’s Day waited 45 minutes to be seated, long wait for food. Ran out of items...... they did buy us a round of cocktails as well as a free appetizer.... food was good, but by the time we received our food it was after 10pm and didn’t really feel like eating that late.
We will try them again.
Evidently they overbooked tables for Valentines Day. We were not upset about an extended wait after our reservation time but a female bartender with red sweater was extremely rude to us but other patrons. We had 8 pm reservations and were seated 35 min after arriving. We were not upset about that. We were served our entree’s at 10:08. It took awhile to have waiter take our order. We were comped 2 drinks. The restaurant staff knew things were wrong. The chef came to our table. But what really set me off was the bartender. She was rude and it was not our fault. We tipped appropriately after our dinner, over 15%. We feel it was management’s fault. We had been there before but will not return.
We dined here for Valentine’s Day dinner and the service was honestly BAD. The restaurant overbooked itself and was running far behind for those of us with reservations. Ours was at 7:30 PM. People were packed in the bar area waiting. The food was great, but we felt like the forgotten table. The restaurant was also very loud. I was surprised because every other time I’ve dined here, my experience has been great. I would just avoid this establishment for future Valentine’s Day dinners.
It was Valentines Day so probably a larger crowd than normal. We had a reservation set for 7:00 and was told to wait another 20 minutes which we did and not longer. We tried to get a drink at the bar and the bartenders were too busy to notice us so we just waited until we were seated. Food was good and staff was attentive however we there for 3 hours total and were tired by the time we left. Overall they handled the large crowd fairly well.
The owner is really a great person EVEN WHEN REALLY BUSY HES REALLY A KOOL PERSON THE WAITRESS WAS AMAZING SHE TOP NOTCH SHE CARES THATS WHAT MAKES HER WHAT SHE ALL ABOUT. THE FOOD THE RIBS WERE TASTY AND JUST LIKE I LIKE IT MY WIFE FOOD PORK CHOP WAS THE BEST SHE HAD IN A VERY LONG TIME WE BEEN THERE MANY TIMES A NEVER AND NEVER HAD A BAD TIME 5 STARS Rick & Betty Ann Pisciotto
Overall good first time experience. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time... but if you’re not a “regular” or know the person who’s in charge of seating people you will have to wait a little longer even with a reservation. While they get seated first and taken care of.
We went for valentines dinner. I was disappointed that they did not have the pre-fix menu as they have in the past. The overall bill was 200+ for 2 people and that seems over the top even for Elmhurst.
Great quality food at affordable prices. The atmosphere was kid friendly and variety of age ranges. This place is a great hidden gem in downtown Elmhurst.
Amazing, if I had to give a criticism it would be music choice. Dance music not a good choice for dinner. Overall great evening.
Love everything on the menu and everyone who works here. A+
Bone in ribeye is very fatty, and bake clams are very fishy. Other then that, the rest of the food was great.
Busy Sat night, extremely loud for a white table cloth place. Very hard time having a conversation. Server was excellent or would have rated lower. Prime rib was tougher than the expected for the price. Another person in my group ordered the same and came out much better even though we ordered it cooked the same. Will never take a date there I want to converse with on a busy night. Would consider trying during the week.
