It was my wife’s birthday
We try to South and the service was great but the food was very sub par the Buffalo Fritters are basically fritters with a hot sauce dip it not even a Buffalo sauce the food just was not worth the price there was posted the bananas Foster had so much alcohol in it we both got a little tipsy
Later dinner in the very quiet bar area post hockey --- service from the bar attendant was poor. We had to stack empty salad plates etc to make room for the meal plates. Ceasar salad was the highlight but the main entrees were average.
One of our favorite places to eat & celebrate. Service is outstanding.
Great Meal!! The Staff was great !!!
Can’t wait to go back for another great meal!!
The restaurant seating area was closed at the time of our arrival, so we were allowed seating at a table of our choice in the bar area, which was fine. The bartender covered all aspects of service, and did an admirable, attentive job. Thank you!
Based on reviews we found, we ordered the nachos and a couple of Thai lettuce wraps. Both were HUGE portions, well worth the reasonable prices charged, and were more than adequate as full meals for all of us.
Both dishes were excellent. We would certainly order again. We also ordered two rounds of specialty cocktails, and all were made very well using top shelf liquor. Prices were moderate for what was used, $10-$12 each. (Unfortunately, this made our bill for drinks greater than our food bill, but that happens often! ;-p)
Because the restaurant area was closed, the reservation check-in process was not dealt with normally, but the manager came to our table to take information and ensure we would receive proper credit and OT points for our reservation. And he offered free warmed-up cookies for dessert as well!
I've been to Allgauer's before, and have never been disappointed. We look forward to future visits back.
It was cool. Very nice
Love the ahi tuna & salad was very fresh! Celebrated our Anniversary. Our server Mike was great!
The staff was pleasant and accommodating however, they were a bit flustered. The doors opened at 5:15 instead of 5:00. We had 2 pepper shakers on our table and no salt shakers. When we asked for one we were given one from the next table as they had 2 and no pepper. The one we were given was empty. Other than those small but meaningful things, dinner went well.
Everything was excellent!! Love, love this restuarant, food is outstanding & so is the service!
The service and the food was EXCELLENT!!! I hosted a business meeting over dinner there...and everything was PERFECT!!! And I’m hard to please! LOL!!
Food was tasty and the immediate attention on point
Wasn’t quite impressed with the food at Allgauer’s. Met a friend there for early dinner as the reviews were 4 stars loaded motivating my wanting to dine here. Upon arrival the ambiance, hotel and restaurant was very chic. The waitstaff was exceptionally attentive and accommodating to us. However the hugest disappointment was the food. Food was mediocre, more aligned with buffet style taste...not meeting most hotel restaurants expectations for taste. Our dish lacked seasoning and freshness which is key for me. I ordered the short rib which was really dry and old tasting. The cooked spinach texture was still rough and the potato soup was pure liquid. The salad was also not fresh and had an “almost wilted” brownish color to it. I would visit the double tree again but not Allgauer’s.
OMG, what a great find right off the tollway in Alsip! We went for Mother’s Day (Saturday night before) and were very pleasantly surprised. The restaurant has a lot of ambiance, great menu, reasonably priced and good service. If you’re looking for a nicer restaurant in the area, definitely give Allgauer’s a go!
Food was excellent! Our server, Lauren" was outstanding--- very personable and attentive.
This was my second night at the hotel and eating at the restaurant. The first night, I had salmon with the potato cakes. House salad was first. I liked the fresh mixed greens and balsamic vinaigrette. The salmon was cooked well with a nice glaze. Very large portion. Service was prompt and pleasant. Second night, I had the Soup and Wallaye. Again, wonderful service and large portions. My only slight complaint is the fish with fresh vegetables and wild rice was all a little plain. Tarter sauce helped, but otherwise, a healthy enjoyable meal! Highly recommend!
This was our second and last visit! The first time I was impressed but this time nothing was good. The bus boy and hostess were the only people that were helpful. The waiter was terrible!
Great service! Thank you Courtney! Amazing deserts!!
Mike our server was great! The Jambalaya was wonderful as always! We love this place!
Great service great food overall great experience!!!
We went with little expectations for a fish fry, and were pleasantly surprised. The food and service was very good. Will definitely be back.
We had the brunch buffet. There was a nice selection of breakfast & lunch items. Everything was tasty, especially my made-to-order omelette.
A great place for a quiet dinner or group outing! Service was excellent!
It was not crowded at all our reservation was for 7pm we sat down as soon as we walked in for our reservation. No waiter so much as said hi to us the first 25 min we were there..the manager came to our table to greet us and asked us if we wanted anything to drink took our drink orders but he said we needed to wait on our waiter to order food. it took them another 20 minutes to give us our drink and when we said we were ready to order it took another 20 minutes after that get a app ordered! IT took 30 minutes for our appetizers to get there which were cold and they never came back to take our order even though we asked the host to take our order also .. so we left and paid for our appetizers and drinks very very bad experience. I could not give 0 stars because the app would not let me. Let me remind you that our reservation was for 7 they were trying to hurry up and clean up to leave and they do not close until 10
This is the first time I eat at this restaurant. Took my wife out for Valentine’s Day. Loved the ambience and the way the restaurant was decorated. The food was very good and Priced right.
Outstanding service & the food was off the charts! From the stuffed jumbo crab meat appetizer to the lobster bisque soup & the delicious lobster & filet,
Great food and intimate. A great way to celebrate a special occasion.
The food was hot when served and the server was helpful.
We were here as teachers for a professional development training and they got us in and out, and the food was tasty!
Unfortunately, Allgaurs has gone done hill over the years. This used to be a great place for brunch, but it appears that the restaurant has decided to sacrifice food quality. The food was dry and tasteless for the most part. One of my guests found a long hair in the eggs on the buffet line This was embarrassing as we really bragged about this place. The service was good however and the servers should be commended. Never again.
New Years Eve dinner. The strip steak ordered was tough and chewy. All 3 other meals were very delicious. Service was slow and spotty. Rolls were delivered without butter. Our soups and salads were already finished when the server finally came with butter. We ordered coffees, then we and had to wait because they had to brew a pot. We expect better from Allgauer’s.
Everything was phenomenal from the moment we arrived to the time we left! The hostess was very pleasant, the food was remarkable and very appeasing to the eye. Our waiter, Mark, was outstanding! He was very attentive, accommodating and informative. This was our first time here and we will definitely be back!
We had the best waiter, Mark. He was patient, polite, friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The generous portions of food were tasty. Great menu and great daily specials.
I treated my family to Christmas Day Brunch and we enjoyed the abundant food choices. The staff was extremely friendly, courteous and accommodating.
Prime rib was dry. Great selection of food. waiter Maria was super.
It was small. I had previously had brunch at the Lisle location and this Alsip location pales in comparison. I simply expected more based on my previous experience. Also there were bugs flying in and out of the desserts.
We had our reception at the attached hotel and figured why not try out the restaurant for our anniversary. Great ambiance and very friendly staff.
Not enough waitstaff, very long wait times for food. 18 min for appetizers, 30 minutes later for dinner, waited 20 min for dessert to be told they were out of the item. We were the for 2.5 hrs. Wont return as a result.
Another great time to celebrate Christmas with 15 friends! Thanks, Allgauer’s!!
