Angelo's Wine Bar
Great food. Great service
This restaurant is fabulous. The chef is creative and the dishes well prepared. It's hard to believe a restaurant of this quality is in Albany Park. Can't wait to go back
Wonderful people, food and ambience. ❤️❤️❤️
Excellent service, Excellent wine food and wine selection. Great ambience will definitely return
Everything was delicious. The pastas are outstanding. As are the pizzas. Can’t go wrong.
Great every time!
Great food , great service , great atmosphere
Love this place
This was a second visit to Angelo's on a Wednesday for 1/2 price wine and jazz -- which they promote on their website and in postcards in the check folder. The wine was 1/2 price, but for the second time there was no jazz. This was disappointing because I brought a client for specifically that reason. The service was great, his name is George I recall, and he remembered me from the previous visit a few weeks prior. I had the scallops and my client had the steak. Both were cooked properly and were tasty. We shared a caesar salad as I recalled it was almost a meal portion. It was pretty good, but the dressing was a bit bland -- I like my caesar to have a bit of a bite to it. The menu items are very reasonably priced. The server was great with some wine recommendations, too, and not just defaulting to the most expensive. He suggested a very nice pinot noir with soft tones that went well with both the steak and the scallops. Overall, I do recommend, I just wish they'd figure out the jazz thing. Don't promote it if you're not going to do it.
Great friendly as usual. Good service good food. we
If you are staying in the downtown area, this is about a 20 minutes LYFT ride but it was well worth it. The food was fabulous as was the wine. Service was excellent.
Angelo's was quite a delight--we were expecting more traditional Italian, and they surprised us with an unique menu. You can still get a pizza along the lines of traditional Italian with thin, yet not dry, crust.
We had the Burrata Caprese to start, which was amazing . Smokey roasted tomatoes served along a large portion of fresh Burrata, drizzled with mouth-watering reduced balsamic. Crispy Cauliflower flavored with an unusual combination of slightly sweet, slightly savory light sauce. And the Lollipop Lamb continued the high-flavors. Wednesday is 1/2 price on bottles of wine!
Nice wine bar food selection is really good reasonable price .
Great time !!!
Great atmosphere with open sliders, knowledgeable and friendly service, excellent pizza and starters.
Will 100% be going back- I think we found our new spot! The food was fantastic and ambiance was great. We ordered two small plates, a dessert and carafe of wine and it was the perfect amount and less than $60. The server was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly (Georges I think?)- we will be seeing him at Angelo’s soon!
Great ambiance. Good for a date or a celebration. Food was really good. Sausage and peppers were delicious, as well as the chicken dish.
Delicious. Great wine list. The bruschetta was amazin; the fig and prosciutto pizza perfect as a follow on for two. Lovely spot for a casual, quiet, delicious meal.
The food is delicious and great for sharing. The wine is made there and very good also.
What a wonderful surprise! Outdoor dining was beyond perfect. We hadn’t heard about this restaurant from anyone so we were just taking a chance. The food was absolutely delicious. We shared many small plates and were not disappointed with any of them. The bruschetta was extraordinary, the pizza was delicious, and everything in between was A+ on all of our scale. The food does not seem to be typical Italian, which made it more of a surprise. Overall I cannot speak highly enough about this restaurant. The inside might have been a little bit too noisy for our taste, but since we could eat outside it was perfect.
LOVE going here, it's a diamond in the rough. Very much a hidden gem of albony park. We always meet here with close family for dinner and whenever we have friends in town to visit. Great vibes and amazing service. The servers know the menu like the back of their hand and what everything taste like. I highly recommend the gamberetto pizza and the angelos red wine on tap, its my favorite combination.
Meet a friend for an early dinner to catch up, as we do quarterly. We enjoyed Angelo’s so much we’re planning to make it our regular meet up place.
The food here was excellent for sure. There wasn't enough staff so everybody was overwhelmed which made the service not a good as it should have been.
This is one of my favorite places for a date night, or a girls' night out. They have great small plates for sharing, outstanding pizza, a fantastic wine list, and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. There is something for everyone. My only complaint is it gets loud and conversation can be difficult.
Great food and service! Angelo’s has been our go to for many years!
As always, good food, good wine and treat you like family. The friends I invited that tried it for the first time will be returning. Thanks for making my birthday special!
Appetizers were good, but pizza had that pre made pizza crust texture.
Great brunch spot!
I have been to Angelo's Wine Bar many times. The food, atmosphere, staff and pricing is excellent. I will continue to go and recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Service was slow and food was subpar and cold....
This Albany Park institution has delicious fresh food, homemade Pizzas, good wine, and a welcoming atmosphere.
Great atmosphere and excellent service. The food is fantastic and the wine list always has great selection. The perfect neighborhood spot for a drink or intimate meal.
It was my mom’s birthday and they definitely made it so special! Amazing food!!
This is my second time visiting Angelo's Wine Bar and I will definitely go back. The food was delicious. There were three of us and we ordered the special salad of the day, White Asparagus with Micro Greens. It was divine. Lightly grilled, the sauce was a perfect combination of tart and creamy. The cauliflower was also fabulous. Well seasoned, quite delicious, and our server, Georges, who is also the sommelier, asked the chef to honor our request to have the mint on the side, as not all of us like mint in our entrées. The Shrimp with Creamy Polenta was beautifully prepared. The shrimp were not overdone, but lovely and tender, and the creamy polenta was unctuous and perfectly prepared. The Smoked Short Rib was pretty good, although it seemed a bit pricey for what it was, and it was not fully smoked, but rather partially smoked and either roasted or perhaps braised. It was quite tasty though.
The cocktails were really good, although not entirely suited to the menu.
I have one tiny issue and one "more than tiny" issue. The tiny issue would be that the space needs some fabric or something to absorb noise. The restaurant was quite full and between the noise of the patrons, and the loud music, we found ourselves yelling at one and other, rather than conversing.
My more than tiny issue was the overwhelming smell of Fabuloso. When we sat down, the area reeked of Fabuloso Cleaning product. Gagging me. Not because I am hypersensitive, but because it stinks. When the folks at the table next to ours left, another heavy spray of Fabuloso lingered for a good several minutes. It is not an odor one wants to smell when dining. Honestly, I don't want to smell it ever, as it is heavy, cloying, and kind of gross. I think I combination of water, and white vinegar might do the trick. It really is the one thing that is so easily remedied, and would make all the difference in the world.
Great food, great place, but the service was so very slow!
The restaurant has the best food. The staff is very knowledgeable and will tell you what is their recommendations. We of course love their wine and make this a once a month date night spot.
Really delicious pappardelle pasta and pizza carbonara
No for food. We waited for a long time for our food and at the end the food was cold. They brought food to two people and 20 minutes later to the rest of the group.
I came in for a late lunch/early dinner around 330, so it wasn't very busy at the time. I was taking my mom out. We split a craft of the Hahn wine on draf , the basic salad and the mushroom pizza. The wine was excellent, I'm a huge fan of bold, dry reds. The salad was made up of all the yummy, healthy greens (baby kale, arugula and spinach). I always love when restaurants don't just serve basic iceberg lettuce. The mushroom pizza was delicious and just the right size to split. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. When we got our bill, it was lower than I expected, which is always nice! Overall my mother and I both really enjoyed it and will be coming back in the future.
Great food. Great service. Reasonable prices. Movies & music make it unique.
Group of 6 had an early (5 pm) reservation before a show. My daughter has allergies and we were very clear about her order for a GF pizza with no cheese, but they completely screwed it up. They were very slow to bring the new pizza and By the they brought the correct pizza everyone else had finished the meal and some of our group had to leave. Also the new pizza was still not what she had ordered but at least not a threat to her health.
No real apology, nothing off the bill.
The food was good but obviously we won’t be back.
