Excellent service, exquisite food and lovely ambiance. They treat you like family!
Very friendly and engaging servers/owners. Outstanding food. Quaint restaurants.
Amazing, mild pesto. Perfectly cooked pasta. Unique and very memorable pizza with mozzarella, garganzola and crisp, thinly sliced pear. A meal to remember!
Always a pleasure to be with the Gambaccini family and the wonderful food Stefania cooks. We had a house ravioli, a pizza, a lasagna and a faglioli (a beans and sausage appetizer I am probably misspelling), and a bottle of chianti from their relatives. A great evening.
Delicious food! Great service!!
Great food. You can tell the family who runs this place loves what they do. It was busy with people who seemed to be from the neighbourhood, which is always a great sign.
The real deal!
We tried this place last year and have since decided to make it a yearly tradition. Today we came for the second time and we we moved it even more than the first. Exceptional service and the food is just amazing. At the end of the mean it looked like All of our plates were completely clean. OUTSTANDING!
Great food, great service. Definitely recommend
Visiting my daughter in college
Best pizza in SF! Thin crispy crust. Yum!
Great meal! The eggplant parmigiana and lasagna are a must!,
As always, Baonecci was wonderful. We have never been disappointed. The food is excellent from an authentic Italian chef! This family run gem is best in the area.
One of the best Italian restaurants in SF! Outstanding lasagna and pizza.
Awesome night! Very friendly service, amazing meal. Quality of a very exclusive restaurant with a great home feel.
Incredible! The pizza is so thin you can’t believe it. Great ambience. Wonderful, attentive service. The San Marzano sauce is delicious!
Excellent staff that made us feel like family
Great ambiance and service. Authentic atmosphere in the heart of North Beach. I would highly recommend
The real deal - family-run Italian restaurant in North Beach. Porchetta as a starter. Homemade pasta, great Bolognese, incredible seafood, great Nebbiolo. Gelato with cherries and Vin Santo for dessert. Felt like I was back in Florence.
This is a very authentic Italian restaurant. Having been to Italy several times and in particular in Lucca, I can attest to what Italian food is like in Italy. Baonecci is the closest thing to eating in Italy as there is in San Francisco. Home-made pasta with terrific sauces, this is the place in North Beach, or anywhere in SF to find great, simple Italian food. We highly recommend this spot on Green Street.
Really disappointed by this place. The pasta was mediocre and very expensive. The mushroom tortellini dish was $31 and was simply not very good. Flavors were just ok. Would not recommend highly. Maybe it was a bad day.
Nice little place. Friendly service and good food.
Lovely relaxing local spot in North Beach. Food was superb and the wait staff couldn’t have been more friendly and efficient
Food was excellent-authentic Italian, not Americanized at all! Risotto, arrabbiata pasta with Calabrian chilies, and cantaloupe draped with prosciutto! Delicious- and the service was appropriately attentive. Can’t wait to go back!!
The cracker thin pizza crust was out of this world! Would go back just for the pizza!
Some of the best Italian food I’ve had outside if Italy.
This is our favorite pizza restaurant in SF! We had a group of five for a going away dinner and everything was awesome! Two salads, one order of bruschetta and four pizzas was the perfect amount of food for everyone to share and enjoy. The thin crust pizzas here are AMAZING and you really can’t go wrong with any of the topping options. Service was good and the food came out in a very timely manner. I always recommend Baonecci to my friends and can’t wait to come back!
Baonecci is a warm, comfortable, family run restaurant. Our second visit and it was equally as wonderful as the first. Entrees were outstanding. Would definitely recommend this hidden gem in North Beach.
Quaint restaurant with delicious food! We started with the carpaccio; and we shared both the pesto and bolognese pastas —all three were delicious!
The food was dull and mediocre. Tomatoes in the burrata salad were poor quality, which kills the dish. The lasagna was ok, pesto was not very tasty and the Bolognese was dull. The melon and prosciutto appetizer was not well prepared- the meat was draped across long slices of melon rather than cut to fit bite-sized pieces.
Very delicious, rich food in a lovely if small space. The pizzas have a heavenly, thin, crispy crust and the toppings taste like they are straight out of Italy. Pastas have a great texture and are well sauced. My boyfriend and I love sitting at the bar counter instead of the tables. The food is super delicious and is what made me realize that North Beach isn't just a gross tourist trap. The staff is always fun as well.
Combo of community seating and tables for 2-4.
Even on a weeknight at 8:45, I’m glad I had a reservation. There were 2 tables when we arrived and a family of six had to be turned away.
Shared one appetizer, one salad and one entree. Tried 3 wines and everything was wonderful.
Carpaccio Di Bresaola , burrata, Bolognese.
Barbera, sparkling rosé, Chianti.
Leftovers, too. Which were great the next day.
Best Italian Pizzas in the city. Their bolognese is also very hard to beat!
Best Margherita pizza I've ever had. Awesome place run by a family.
One of the best of North Beach! Family owned and operated, fine attention to detail, warm and welcoming. some of the best pizza this side of the Atlantic!
Great location. Excellent food. Fantastic service.
The service was impeccable and the food was delicious!
There's been a proliferation of places in SF in recent years that serve a REALLY good plate of pasta, and after recently discovering Baonecci I add it to the top of the list. The standout is the arrabiata. They go there with this dish. So spicy it will make sweat pop on your forehead, and absolutely delicious. I recommend that if you're having dinner with another person you don't both get it at the same time, because you'll need to switch plates from time to time for heat relief. Last time my partner had the arrabiata and I had a wonderful penne pomodoro, simple and fresh and delicious, and we traded plates halfway through to cut the heat. They also serve a basket of unusual, almost flatbread-like bread, that helps to soak up the heat. Good stuff. The only reason I don't rate higher is that it's a tiny room and painfully, aggressively loud. You have to scream across the table to make yourself heard. Aside from that, just have a glass of nebbiolo and eat some great pasta.
Outstanding, quaint, authentic Italian restaurant in Little Italy. Everything our group tried was terrific and served by a very engaged, positive, upbeat staff.
Very good Italian food in the heart of North Beach SF - love the family atmosphere
