Relaxing, friendly

Delicious pastas and excellent service! Dined with my husband and his parents and our two kiddos (4 and 1) and everyone was extremely accommodating! Made room for the stroller, rushed the kids food. The roasted chicken, seafood squid ink, salmon gnocchi, and the pear ravioli were all hits! Everyone ate every bite.

Fresh ingredients, good outdoor patio for dining with heat lamps. Wait staff courteous and accommodating . this is our send time for dining here and we will return

We had two servers. One had an unpleasant demeanor when interacting with us. The food was good, but overpriced for what it was.

It was Valentine's Day dinner and very busy BUT a drink took 25 mins and dinner over a hour. Food was good.

It was Valentines Day evening and the restaurant was jammed. The wait staff was really hopping. Despite that we were shown to our table right away, the service was excellent, our food came quickly and was delicious. We've been to Basil several times recently when it was much less crowded and our meals and service were not as good. The restaurant seems to finally be getting it together especially when it was so busy. I hope they can keep it up in the future. Congratulations Basil!

Food was great but service was a bit slow. Waiter walked by me three times without even acknowledging me. Could have at least said I’ll be right with you.

We were greeted right after we sat down. Everyone was very nice! We had a heater next to our table and that was perfect. We really enjoyed sitting outside in the courtyard. All in all good service and good food!!! I would definitely go back again.

I have eaten at numerous restaurants in Carmel but this was the first time at Basil Seasonal. The outside dining was comfortable and the tables were adequately spaced during the pandemic.

The staff was absolutely inviting and polite while the menu had a great selection of food.

The food was FANTASTIC... One of the best meals I have eaten in a long time.

Food is a little pricey but well worth every penny.

Will mark as a favorite when I am visiting the area.

The best Italian food anywhere on the Monterey peninsula.

Food and service was excellent while sitting outside in a California winter rain storm. Heaters and covered patio provided a lovely ambiance.

Lovely outdoor dining on patio courtyard. The heaters kept us very comfortable. The food and service was
amazing. We come to Carmel almost every other month for a week....and Basil is our favorite place to come
for dinner on the first night. It gets us in vacation mode immediately!

$22 chicken Caesar salad no better than a grocery store pre-packed salad. Mediocre lasagna - neither ricotta nor mozarella very good.

Very warm for outdoor dining. Great food, reasonable pricing, friendly staff.

Had a very enjoyable lunch here and appreciated their attention to safety and cleanliness as well as dietary restrictions in our party. We also enjoyed a lovely wine pairing with our lunch from Shale Canyon wines, just across the courtyard from the restaurant. Highly recommend the experience of both the food, and the amazing wine!

Food delicious, service impeccable. Strictly outdoor dining but we had the best table which was located at the very back of the patio. The only drawback was the 2 very large standard poodles that were accompanied by their humans...these dogs barked loudly and often at other dogs on the patio.

We ordered 2 Caesar salads to start, when they arrived they were the size of a side salad priced at $14.75, was way over priced. Manager did deduct one salad after we complained. Pasta dishes were good. Our waiter was rushed and not very friendly.

Heard this was good but so not the case. Long time Carmel Visitor. Was skeptical of feedback so decided to try myself. Not worth the money or time. Had a fishy tasting Caesar (even though asked for no anchovies) and a frozen piece that they try to pass off as home made. Don’t bother

Outstanding service! Our food was good, but I can't go all 5 stars. Presentation was good, food definitely was delicious. I'm a vegan and it's hard to find options however I had the Roasted Seasonal Veggies and that was pretty good. My mom had the spaghetti with lamb meatballs and she enjoyed that. Again it was good, but not quite the 5 star, although I am pretty picky when I give them out.

Lovely outdoor parklet on the street. The umbrellas with lights on the inside are a good idea. As a vegan I really enjoyed the beet ravioli roasted veggie platter. We live in Csrmel, so will be back soon ✅💚

We especially appreciated the quiet courtyard with heaters outside, and the weather was lovely. The staff was very good to us.

Given the current situation, I tend to give a lot more leeway in what a resturant can and can’t do. Seating is very sporadic with the COVID restrictions so it’s really not fair to review things like ambiance.

That being said, I found Basil to be just ok. The menu is pretty limited, with an odd mix of Americanized Italian food. They ran out of pizza the night we dined, which is kinda unexpected. They brought a lemon twist martini when I ordered an olive. My wife ordered short ribs, that were ok, not great, but ok. As they didn’t have the pizza options. I ordered a chicken sandwich, which was ok, for a chicken sandwich.

The deal killer is the prices charged were what would be expected at a high end resturant. Our meal plus drinks was over $100, for two people. That’s a lot for a entree, sandwich and a few drinks.
