Benihana - Burlingame
The food was great. Service was a little slow. Our server did not show up for a long while to refill the drinks. The fried rice was good, but not as flavorful as we remember, maybe depends on the chef.
I was given a birthday free dinner meal coupon and the manager came to me telling me that it’s not valid . Good thing our regular waiter Ismael spoke to him and he really went out his way so I can avail my birthday meal .
I love this place !
Surprisingly, the restaurant was not so loud like before. Not sure why. We enjoyed dining more as it was not loud although our server was pretty busy and could not come to our table right away.

It was a very nice family dining experience (9 including 3 children) from valet parking to checkout. Impeccable Service, fun atmosphere and nice food.

So I visited this place for the first time and took my wife (who’s been here before), she invited her best friend who was experiencing this place for her first time as well and I brought my friend as well. The first warning sign we experienced that should of made us walk out the door was our interaction with the host stand. To make this long story short. This one host who was a young lady wearing a high ponytail, had the most terrible attitude. She was extremely rude and didn’t greet us at all. I can’t even give her the credit for at least trying to smile at us cause she didn’t at all. After being seated, my wife’s best friend noticed the same host staring them down, we don’t personally know this young lady, nor have we done anything to deserve this treatment. We came here in a great mood, happy to reunite with our friends who we haven’t seen in a very long time and I’m embarrassed to have shared this experience from Benihana. So not only did my wife and her best friend experience this host staring at them once but it continued throughout the whole time we were there. At the end of our meal, we asked to speak with the Manager who took a while to attend us. My wife who has plenty of experience in customer service and is currently a Chef for a company told him this was unacceptable and a very bad look for there name. Of course the manager said he would talk to her, I would have honestly like an apology from the young lady but clearly it didn’t happen. We most likely will never come here again and if we do, we definitely won’t go to the one in Burlingame. I’m very disappointed to have to share this experience but I would hate for this to continue with other customers who go there ready to spend hard earned money from working to give to place that doesn’t deserve it, the only good thing I can say is our cook (Joaquin) was great, he had us laughing the whole night. Please don’t be afraid or embarrassed to share your experience, it’s important.
My cousins wedding anniversary. Everything was great. Good food, fantastic cook (Benito).
Service was quick which was better than usual.
I enjoyed the food. It was noisy but enjoyable. Food taste great. Server forgot our salad but once reminded everything was great. Celebrated my birthday. Would recommend and come again. Parking was a hassle only because im pregnant, but overall good experience.

Moderate diner for 20 years, food is a tad below average. The experience is above average if you never went. Food and experience I guess depends on the chef serving you.

great food and atmosphere
As always we had a great time at Benihana’s We go about 5-6 times a year and love the food and obviously the cooks that entertain. Isabelle our server was top notch and she attended our every need.

Meh. Expensive for the quality of the food: $100 for one adult and one child. I thought my 7.5 year old would have been more into the experience, but sadly, not really impressed...

Drinks were wrong took too long to get service. Seemed a bit understaffed. Every thing took a very long time.

We had an excellent meal at Benihana with a group of 7 for my son's birthday. The service was great and the chef was fun. The only downside to the experience is that there is not much parking at this location, so we were forced to park about 1/2 mile away and walk to the restaurant. They have complimentary valet, but they told us they were already full.

We parked across the street to avoid the "free" valet, and walked 2 blocks, just don't like others driving my car. We were a party of 5 and we sat with 3 others, (strangers, but we mostly ignored each others' parties) not facing the water, which is a shame, cause even though it's on the bay with amazing view of SFO, they don't maximize this location and the view!! (Except in the bar) Host/hostess really great help, got us seated before our reservation time since we were all there. Our chef was a beginner, who was still learning the tricks. Having gone to Benihana numerous times before, we could tell that Ceasar was a novice, who tried really hard, but it just wasn't the same quality of cooking entertainment we were familiar with at Benihana, and he had difficulty getting our orders right, but we didn't care, he was fabulous anyway, and we had a nice time, leaving with a photo from the restaurant and appreciating the birthday ice cream, candle, and singing for our mom's special day. Oh, be sure to request the "regular" menu if you go on the weekend, more price friendly choices and vegetarian options available there. ("Birthday meals" only Mon- Thurs)

Our server sucks! Took long time to refill our drinks, asked if he can get our picture taken and jst ignored us. Didnt even sing happy bday to my son, but other table’s server did... never coming back again, he’s an old chinese man!
The service was horrible, from the waiter to the cook at table. The food was way over cooked and lacked any flavor.
The food here is good, but we ALWAYS wait at least 40 minutes for our table when we have a reservation, ugh! Every time, I say I’ll never go back. .. this time I really won’t.
Great location, you can take a stroll on the bay trail. Great service and food. With exception of valet parking requirements. Not a big fan of that. Self parking is an option if you make reservations before 5 and you are lucky enough to sneak your car into parking lot.
It’s a fun experience, but the food has gotten pricey and our chef seemed in a rush to get done. I’ve had better times there.
Chef Robert is the best. Food is always great quality and the show is extra amazing.
Noise level is TOO high. Can hardly hear each other at the table， even person right next to you is difficult to hear.
Front desk customer service was as bad as it can get. Showed up at 5:55 for our 6pm reservation. Was not informed they were 50 minutes behind. At 6:10 asked when we would be seated and response was “there are no open tables”. Not once were we offered an apology, a proactive communication, or treated like customers. This location is run down and dirty and desperately needs updating and new leadership. Mr. Aoki would be embarrassed. I will not return.
Once seated our waiter was good, our chef was awesome and the food tasted good.

Overall it is a very good restaurant.. the cookers are entertaining.. you need to wait a bit to be seated even if you have booked in advance but it worths it

It was my father’s birthday. I booked our reservation at 6:00PM but we were not seated until close to 6:30PM. That’s unacceptable in my books. When we were finally seated, We were cramped at this table with another family of 5 which provided little to no elbow room. Then we had this older Japanese food server who couldn’t understand the orders and asked serval questions to figure out what we ordered. His personality was that of a rock and did little energize the table. To make matters worse, he was only cognizant the experience of the other family and neglected us. Then the final straw was the one female server. She took our initial drink orders but did not come back to refill our drinks until asked to do so on numerous accounts. When the meal was completed, she failed to serve desert to two of the persons in my family. What can I say about this experience in two words? Extremely poor! I’ve been to several Benihana’s on numerous occasions throughout the decades and have to say this is the absolute worst! This team of servers really need to be be retrained on customer service or released because they suck at it from my perspective.
