Little cold in restaurant. 2 of my 3 kids had their coats on because we all felt a chill

Just ok could have been better

Very nice food. The shrimp and filet mignon dish was great. We love the fried rice. It is always a great show and fun time to share with family

We had steak, shrimps and scallops which were average if not particularly memorable. Since this is communal dining around the grill, two other couples with children were at our table and the chef prepared all the food on the hibachi and allocated it to each person - vegetables, fried rice, 3 shrimp per person followed by the respective orders. One of our party is a woman of color and she had ordered an entree of steak and shrimp as had other diners. Strangely, the chef/server gave her fewer shrimp - noticeably less - than the other diners. This person felt singled out and upset - and frankly it ruined the evening. Needless to say we will not be returning. This chain should to hire and train staff who will treat all diners equally with respect.

We love Benihana’s in Manhasset. It has been a birthday tradition in our family for 30 plus years and it is always entertaining. The food is good and the staff is great!

A problem with the heating system not working causee another party to leave the table. It was freezing in the restaurant. Other than that, everything was perfect.

That place was freezing inside. No heat. Everybody with jackets and scarfs on.
You can't enjoy it when you are so cold

They must have been short staffed because it took my girlfriend having to go to the front desk after 15 minutes of waiting to get a waiter to the table. Also, the table next to us was vaping!

NEVER GOING BACK TO THAT LOCATION!

We loved the food - watching the chef prepare everything was fun and interesting, and, when it got to us, it was truly delicious. The only issue we had was having to sit next to people we didn't know - it was little awkward.

The food was excellent! The chef was experienced and did lots of fun food tricks while cooking for us! Cocktails were good.

We used to be regulars at Benihana but this will be the last time we come to eat.
We had a group of 5 adults and 4 kids to celebrate a 4 year-old girl’s birthday.
Service was awful. We ordered the 5-course meal. We got the soup but the salad didn’t come until we were almost done with our entrees.
The hibachi chef was also extremely disappointing. The only “show” he did was the onion volcano but we didn’t get to see any of the other tricks they to (which is one of the reasons we picked this restaurant to begin with - to entertain our kids). He cooked everything without any care. Scallops were burnt, vegetables were overcooked and mushy. But the worst part was that he cleaned up the grill without serving us the appetizer shrimps, which should have been included. I had to complain to the waitress who made him cook our shrimp and we got 3 each, after we were all done with our meals.
And they also stopped taking pictures for birthdays, it seems like!
Anyways the service was overall unacceptable and the dinner felt like a big waste of money.

Do not come here for good service.

I love the restaurants but recently the service has changed. I was there on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019 for my son’s birthday and we we’re rushed. The waitress served the dessert before we were done with our meal. For birthdays usually they sing and take a photo. This night the photo was overexposed and the birthday singing was done while we were eating. The chef didn’t take his time... everything is RUSH... RUSH. They want you out as soon as possible...
VERY DISAPPOINTED

I been to many hibachi places in the past, and most are entertaining, but Benihana’s I had high expectations, the hibachi chef did not perform
Simply cooked, no engagement with is what so ever. The waitress we had seemed angry and even a little hostile when we asked for something. We were very unhappy.

We enjoy going to Benihana problem is the rice and veggies are cold by the time the meat/chicken/fish are cooked.

Kids birthday, but they forgot about it.

21st Birthday celebration for my daughter

Horrible! So disappointed. Took 10 teenage girls for my daughters 13th. The waitress was horrible, rude, rushed through it all and started taking the soups away before we were done. Barely sat and was barked at to give our food and drink orders. 2 drink orders wrong and One of the girls dinner order was wrong and when I asked them to please rectify, the chef told me “it’s too late!” Had there not been a table full of young ladies I was hosting, I wouldn’t have been so understanding. I brought cake and they brought it out and walked away. No plates no utensils. Asked for some, was given bowls. And no forks. Just so rude. We’ve been many times and the last 2 times were terrible. and the food was horrible, especially the steak. Sooo disappointing. It’s really changed for the worse. Never going back. Don’t waste your money!!!

Went out with the family. Food was great and service was great.

Nice atmosphere, the food was excellent we visited to celebrate my bday with my parents and my boyfriend and yes it made my bday very special, will go back soon just for casual dinner

Always Great. The food, the staff, the show are all worth a trip

The menu has a varied selection. The service is good. The
food is delicious and cooked according to preference. This establishment is great for small groups or large parties.
The atmosphere is extremely festive for all ages.

My husband ordered chicken and steak
He was only given 4 small pieces of chicken.
My daughter asked for her steak to be medium rare, it was well done.

Been to this location several times where we always had great experiences. However on this night, the chef we had was not good. The food was not prepared well. It was unfortunate because we were there to celebrate a special occasion.

Fun place to celebrate birthday. They sing happy birthday in English and Japanese and give a complimentary photo. Filet mignon and lobster tail were excellent. Highly recommend.

Slimy how the waitress goes over your order and vaguely asks you if you want the chicken fried rice which you think is included in the fixed menu and then hit you with an additional charge per person! So unprofessional! Will never go again

Restaurant quite noisy. We were sat with 3 other pairs of people in somewhat tight confines. Teppan chef fouled up my order by preparing chicken instead of filet minion. Upon being made aware of this, the chef then discarded cooked chicken wastefully. He probably should have served it to all gathered, instead. The filet I finally received was about half the size of the filet served earlier to one of the other guests at my table. This was noticed and commented on by several of the guests at the table, but nothing was done by the chef. Portions have shrunk considerably over the past few years. Shrimp appetizer consisted of three (3) miniscule shrimps. Server Brenda was above average and was good about refilling water and drinks.

Unfriendly service, orders wrong and unreasonable wait for food. Tables are way too close together. Has really gone downhill since the last time we ate there several years ago.

Habachi Shrimp and Chicken nicely done. Portion was adequate. Always enjoy watching the food be prepared by the grill expert.

Always a cheery and wonderful place to dine for small gatherings or larger groups. The staff is attentive and the food is tasty. Parking is also very convenient.
