I knew not to expect excellence on Thanksgiving Day, but I was disappointed in the overall experience. The service was extremely slow...took 15-20 minutes to get a cocktail. Table-side dinner service did not begin for over an hour after we were seated at the table. Either the waiter wrote the orders incorrectly, or the chef did not read them. Several people at the table had to ask for items they had ordered, such as steamed rice rather than fried rice, or extra vegetables instead of rice. No one at the table received the shrimp appetizer that was supposed to be included with the meal. When we all realized this and asked the waiter about it, the manager did give us all a $2.00 credit on our bill. The waiter never asked anyone if they wanted a second cocktail nor did he ask if anyone wanted dessert. I will say that the food was very good. I'm going to blame the poor service on the holiday.

Our reservation was at 7:15 but we didn’t get seated until 7:40. They seemed like they were very disorganized. When we ordered our meal the waitress asked if we wanted steak, chicken, shrimp or vegetables in the fried rice but didn’t let us know that we were going to be charged extra if we put one of them in the rice. There was 4 of us and my husband didn’t notice that we got charged for 2 extra rice’s. We paid for 2 rice with steak and 2 rice with chicken and 2 rice with shrimp. He noticed it when we were on the way home and he was looking at the ticket to see what he was charged for the appetizer because it was not what he ordered but he didn’t say anything about it when they brought it to the table because it took so long to get it he just ate it any way. The water tasted like it had lemon in it. The chef was very nice but didn’t really put on a show cooking. The only thing she did was the onion volcano. It took a long time to get the check & I had to go ask and get a container to take leftovers home. Very disappointed in our choice of restaurant for our birthday celebration!

Our table was ready as we got there. Our cook was the best his name was Tim. He made it so much fun for us to watch as he cooked for us. All of our dinner was great. We had a wonderful experience. Our waitress was very good and when we needed her and refilled our drinks as needed without asking. Our table was ready to seat us when got there. We had our pictures taken. It was my husband’s 70th birthday and we met a couple at our table whose husbands birthday was the same night. Thanks to Open Table we had a great time.

It was one of those nights…they had a sports team dining and it caused us to wait even though we had a reservation. But the people and servers were nice $ apologetic. I eventually got a carrot after we were seated.

We were celebrating a 9 year old birthday party. No personality or theatrics, no Japanese egg roll, no beating heart, tried to do the onion volcano/train but no steam, we had to ask to throw the shrimp.

We went early (4:15) for a 4:30 seating. We were seated late, and it took a full 2 hours when the restaurant was not busy. I’m not sure if it was shift change, but it seems like they shouldn’t take early reservations if they aren’t staffed for it.

I had a great time and it was my first time going. We had Jose as our cook and he was amazing and I could tell he loves his job and our waitress was very good too! The only drawback for me was how long it took for our meal to start but honestly I still had a very good time and will be returning!

Our chef did not play with fire!! We come for the thrill and he did not give that. In addition to barely speaking English. (Or speaking at all) Food taste was good, waitress did try her best to make things right tho.

I’m sad to say this location has hit an all time low. New management needed. Service poor. Chefs well below average. Mr. Le is missed. 7:00pm on a Friday night and the restaurant was empty. I think that says it all. Please keep this location going and send reinforcements.

Included reservation that it was an 18th bday dinner. I had to tell the waitress as she didn’t know, there was nothing special during the cooking portion and the waitress had to be reminded about bday. Three other bday singing a took place and my daughter got the smallest “big deal” made. Food was good, perhaps a bit dry on the rice and vegetables. Steak and seafood was great.

It took 37 minutes after being seated for any drinks, water came. The soup and salad was brought over 10 minutes prior to drinks to the table The server and the cook both messed up the orders , so my shrimp was cooked after all the others and then my husbands order was messed up and his colossal shrimp were cooked as the cook was cleaning the grill. The check also had to be corrected as it was incorrect

The chefs no longer perform the usual theatrics as before, such as the volcanic fire of onions, etc. and when we asked about it, the chef said their manager said no more. I had the seafood Surf Side combo and the Shrimp was cooked perfectly but unfortunately the scallops and calamari were overcooked and rubbery. It’s sad they have fallen so, but I doubt I will ever go back to this restaurant in Memphis. Also, when I booked the reservation I had marked we were celebrating my daughter’s Birthday but the restaurant did not even acknowledge the occasion!!!

We've been going to this location for 12+ years. It is still okay, but the last two years it seems like the actual hibachi show has gotten kind weak. I would say last night that both my steak and scallops were a bit over done as well. I guess they had a dishwasher call in as they didn't have pots for the green tea and when they brought out the ice cream they brough one real spoon and then a plastic spoon because they ran out of clean ones. The property as a whole really needs some help, the weeds were overgrown and the building needs a pressure wash and some paint.

My reservation was 12:15. Cook came at 1:15 (1 hour wait?) Only 1 cook; not acceptable for Benihana. I would like to say the restaurant was cleaner than I have seen it in a long long time. I compliment the lady who was cleaning. I mean she was outstanding; it was CLEAN everywhere!

Our waitress was hospitable and pleasant. Our orders were accurate and our Chef was EXCEPTIONAL!! He kept telling us he was the 1# Man and He Was The 1# Man Indeed!!! He was energetic, exciting, and he knew how to keep us entertained!!! The best ever!!! Thanks for a Great bday experience!!

Our server was very helpful with our selections for dinner. The food was delicious. Yum yum sauce was new to me, and it was very good. The sweet/spicy addition to the rice and vegetables was an awesome surprise. We will be going back!

I don’t know what has happened to this restaurant but it has gone downhill in a precisely rapid pace. The rice has been changed to some bigger mushy rice. The food was sooo salty and the service was kinda sketchy as well. I will not be going back.

There has been tremendous improvement since we visited last year. We practically swore the place off last time for many reasons, wait time being one of them. You can tell they are under new management. The only downside is the portions! They are giving you less proteins for more money! That may keep us from returning.

Server brought check out before we were finished dining. We hadn’t gotten our ice cream and teas yet and I had to remind her. It was almost as though we were being shuffled out and they were intentionally trying to leave off that part of the meal. For the cost of the experience, there should be no rushing whatsoever. Otherwise, it was great! A few mess ups with ordering, but not major deal. I thought they took a pictures and sang for birthdays, which didn’t happen and was a bummer, but oh well. Food was yummy and that’s what I wanted mainly for my birthday!

Chef was great. Food was ok. Quality of steaks has really gone down. Building needs a refresh. Wallpaper torn/scratched up, furniture dowdy. Was asked if wanted either soup or salad. Always got both. Asked for both and got but didn’t like the cutting corners.

We had to wait over 1 hr to be seated and served. I had a 2pm reservation. We didn’t get seated and served until AFTER 3pm. Service was awful!!! They don’t have enough chefs. I almost walked out! Food was outstanding! Chef was amazing!

The cook and server had a great personalities, but it seems like the overall quality of the restaurant has gone down a bit. The food wasn't as great as I once remembered. Also, it took quite some time for us to get our meals prepared.
