My food for once was hot. It’s always delicious just not always hot. My waitress, Ciara was outstanding. In all it was great but The Black Angus look is outdated and needs major improvements.
We had a wonderful indoor sit-down meal even though COVID is still active, and our server was the BEST, as were the food and beverages.
Birthday Dinner for son
I have been a customer of the San Lorenzo restaurant for decades. The last two visits have been very disappointing. About a month ago I visited the restaurant with a friend of mine. We both ordered Filet Mignon steak dinners. When placing our order, we very clearly stated that we wanted the steaks "medium rare". My friends steak was more medium and mine was leaning more to well done. We informed our waitress (who was very friendly and apologetic). She contacted the manager who visited our table and she too was apologetic. She was kind enough to take my steak off the bill as I only ate a couple of bites of my steak. My friend did eat his steak, but was not happy with it.
Last night (July 21) I again visited the restaurant with another couple. I ordered a 12 oz. Ribeye steak (medium rare). The steak was cooked ok, but there was so much fat on the steak and it was not tender as a ribeye should be. I didn't complain about it as I didn't want to embarrass the couple that joined me for dinner. So, I again was disappointed. Not sure if I will visit this restaurant again as it appears to me that the quality has suffered recently. (note: our waitress last night was very friendly)..
Definitely need a reservation. Great steak! Happy to see the Campfire Special for two.
The fiod was ok. Service was ok. Everything was ok.
Didn’t get our drinks until the appetizer came out. Took 25 minutes to get our drinks after order them. Never got asked if we wanted a refill or any other drink. Food was wonderful. But the Waitress was extremely friendly just not attentive.

My new favorite restaurant, the food is great, the service is even better and the ambience is second to none. I highly recommend the Black Angus in San Lorenzo, California. The ONLY thing that was a concern, was we were celebrating my wife's birthday and they were totally aware of that fact, but they did not give my wife a birthday ice cream or cake. We were walking out and the hostess said, "happy birthday" to my wife, and I asked "was she supposed to get a free bowl of ice cream or something like that"? They hostess was apologetic and offered to get her a birthday surprise. I told them we were done eating and maybe next time they can take care of her.
Wonderful summer deal great food a lot love their chocolate chip cookie and ice cream.

Food quality was good. Our server was excellent. Ambiance was very nice in comparison with other local eateries. A bit on the pricey side, especially if you don't use a coupon, but then we are from out of state and have found CA does not compare well with other states in regards to both price and usually quality as well, although the quality was good here. One of many reasons why we moved out of California. Lastly, the CA sales tax rate of 10.75 % is obnoxious.
We love the booth seating which gives us more privacy to have a conversation. The background music was nice and low. Both our meals (salmon or me and steak for her) were excellent.
Have been here before covid, service was excellent, food was excellent. Now, meh.
Servers were all very nice, but could tell front and back of house need more training and attention to the details that make a difference.
Servers were nice but spent a lot of time out of sight, did not check the plates for completeness before bringing to the table, slightly disorganized. The kitchen seems to need some more training, 2 cuts of same meat (diff temp) were different thicknesses, did not have the correct sides. Smaller portions than previous visits but this may be a corporate thing/cost savings. I would rather pay more and have an impressive plate than less and have an "ok" one. Made me tip less and feel less like returning.
I asked for medium well steak it was given medium well.
Great experience moves out of bay area six years ago. 1st time back since then used to live the down the street everything was as good as before we left.
The filet mignon was delicious and the rice pilaf as well..potato was not that good...
The service was outstanding. The hostess was great and our server was very attentive. The ambiance of the room is nothing special, but lighting was adequate. The food was an excellent value because of the Pony Express discount. Serving sizes were plenty. The quality of the steak was good, but not great or outstanding.
The food was excellent and our waitress was even BETTER. The atmosphere was very good and we were celebrating our 47th wedding anniversary and we had a booth that was very quiet and charming! This is my FAVORITE restaurant and I will be visiting again within the next few weeks! Their menu is EXCELLENT!
We have eaten at this restaurant many times. But this time the service was not up to their normal standards. We had to ask waitress a few times for drink and food items which had been ordered but not received. The restaurant was not busy so we are not sure why the service was bad. We were celebrating a birthday but the waitress did not even ask. She did not converse very much with us during our entire time we were at our table.
Our first time at the San Lorenzo Black Angus. Service was very good. Food was tasty and perfectly prepared. Also impressed that dining tables were sanitized after each meal.
We don’t have a Black Angus in our town so we look forward to visiting when out of town. Sadly the sever got too many tables to handle; we had to ask for bread and we didn’t get a dessert with our campfire feast
I paid 30.00 for a very small dry piece of top sirloin & only enough to equal one side of fries when I asked for two. I felt bad to ask him (he wasn't my server, Idk why she took my order then abandoned me during that part) for a whole new plate when I saw it so I only asked for my second side of fries, which he brought 7 minutes later. I saved the bread they bring before ordering to eat with my meal but was hungry & ate my plate of food first. Was thinking the whole time, what a rip off! I knew this would not fill me up & it took eating the bread also to actually make me feel like I had a meal, but barely! They missed the mark this time. I could get an actual delicious and big meal anywhere else for much less than that. Rip off. And sad. I should give it a zero but it's hard for me to be cruel. I'm just sad.
The managers of this Black Angus are extremely hands on, waiting on tables themselves and greeting guests. I love the way the staff waits on all tables, and different members, even the bus boy are constantly asking if everything is OK and is there anything they can do for you. A real small town feel for a chain restaurant. And the food is always very good.
Loved that they took you in fast and food wasn’t rushed or took a long time.. everything was decent

Overall it is good. The only regret is that the steak we ordered was a bit too cooked and our favorite Appetizer dish was out of stock at the time.
Overall the experience was good. There was a special menu for Father's Day which was pretty limited. We asked about other items to order and were told there were none. However, we saw others around us eating different things so we asked again. Then we were told we could order a sandwich, burger, etc. The server was nice and she came around a couple of times to check on us. However, the food was slow in getting to us considering the place wasn't that busy. The value was not good as normally we have a coupon but there didn't seem to be any issued at this time.
We had a wonderful time. The weather was very attentive with a manager coming around asking us whatever we needed. Things were brought to our table quickly and if they weren’t we were kept informed of when they would be there. Food was great my steak was cooked to perfection. Really enjoyed our time there
This was the first time I had eaten at Black Angus in San Lorenzo. Upon entering restaurant I noticed the restaurant was rundown. The carpet was very dirty. Restaurant was very dark and uninviting. My husbands steak was not good. Very chewy with little flavor (we boxed it up for the dog). We had to ask several times for the same item, were over charged (by $16 dollars on check and had to have redone), and desert a little frozen (packed up and took home), and bathroom had fowl smell. The staff was very nice. This Black Angus restaurant needs a total remodel with a more modern feel. No, I will not return. I staff members were very good (for that reason I left a good tip).
Unfortunately my family and I were seated at 4:45, ordered out food by 5:10 and did not receive it until close to 6:20pm. We waited over an hour- I understand kitchens can be backed up, however the tables around us that were seated after us received their food, and we did not. Also, the food was not how we ordered, as far as medium and medium rare are concerned; everything was well done. If the restaurant knows they are short staffed, and only accepting reservations the reservations should be planned based on service levels on what can be accomplished and accommodated for the service time frames. We received the, “we are very short staffed and at full capacity” however it’s at Covid capacity, and if the restaurant can not handle that many guests at one time, lower the reservation slots.
Location is a decent spot if you just want a steak, but it is not fantastic. Service was slow and it was clear that being moderate sized group of black guests in celebration of Fathers, not being attended to during our visit including not even for water refills or periodically check-ins, showed the awful service that can happen here. The establishment wasn’t busy enough for the lack of service provided for just the basics. In addition, we were given silverware with food still stuck on them, numerous times and even the rolled up napkins with baked in food. Lastly, the food was edible but lacked flavor and came out cold. The quality here, is just gone down hill. Location needs so work in order for it to be visited by me or my family again, which is disappointing as it is convenient.
I arrived about 10 minutes early, and checked in fir my reservations. I didn’t like that they kept seating people without reservations before me.
Food was great service was great and atmosphere was great.

Everything was wonderful after our food arrived. Getting our dinners was a little slow but after being “locked up” for so long it was a minor issue.
Chefs dont seem experienced.

Cleanliness is poor and bathroom needs a new overhaul it's pretty disgusting.

I won't be back. Looks poorly ruined and the restaurant needs a deep cleaning.
