Bumpkin's Restaurant & Bar
The service was outstanding and the food exquisite. Would love to return sometime soon.
We were not impressed
My waiter was so kind & thoughtful! Unfortunately I didn’t get his name. I will go back again & recommend it to my friends!
We enjoyed a great meal before show at CAA Theatre!! Had the price fix! Good value!
Would come again!
It was quiet the night we were there. Server was friendly, enjoyed our price fix dinner. I would return.
I haven’t been to Bumpkin’s since my early days in Toronto - it was wonderful then and did not disappoint now. Wonderful cuisine, the staff attentive and friendly. The food was SO good. Wish we had too for dessert! A great place to go before the show at the CAA theatre - a 2 minute walk away. Glad to see that Bumpkin’s is still such an icon of the Toronto restaurant scene.
We made reservations for 5pm when it opened for dinner. We had arrived early and began waiting under the canopy because it was raining. We were let in early and offered seating inside the restaurant. We were then offered our table at 5 beside the window. Perhaps the rain deterred people from coming out to dine, but the restaurant was quiet while we were there. Service was exceptional and the food was delicious. We would return.
I haven’t eaten at Bumpkins in years and it was so lovely. Food was delicious, portions were perfect, pre-theatre dinner was timely but not rushed. Will definitely keep it on my list!
Great meal prior to theatre.
Open table/restaurant have not honoured the points, reservation was attended for at the original time placed on OpenTable, points are not appearing
Old and tired. No surprises with the food. Nothing changed in all the years they have been there. Friendly and welcoming
The food and the service was fantastic! Would definitely go back again and highly recommend it.
Everyone is made to feel very welcome at Bumpkins. The menu is varied and the food is excellent. I have been eating at Bumpkins since 1975.
This place is dated. Which could explain why not many ppl on a Sat night. But then the food came and that really was explained why not many ppl. It was meh! My sole was mushy. Everything else was just okay. However I must say our server was Great! He would be the only reason my family would return. But I’m sad to say I won’t be going back, nor would I recommend.
It was a nice place to have lunch prior to the theatre. 4 older ladies for lunch, would have been nice to know the the lunch portions were huge, far too much to eat. The food was good, just would have ordered something different had we known.
Good food and good service. Not special.
It was the perfect spot for a pre dinner show with the CAA Theatre in walking distance. Their escargot appetizer is fantastic! Dinner portions are generous with perfectly cooked vegetables and they have amazing desserts!!
My filet was cooked perfectly and the potatoes were incredible. We could not have been more graciously served. We are visiting for 5 days and plan to return before we leave. 👍🏻
Great restaurant food was very good - great location
Everything was great, only a few minutes to the CAA theatre. Food was excellent and our waiter was the best. We will go back.
Went for dinner with the family. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. My daughter has a nut allergy and he was good about making sure everything was ok for her. Overall we had a great meal and my family loved it there. Would definitely go back next time I am in Toronto.
Terrible soggy wedding food. Stay away. Send my food back and reorder was just as bad.
Exceptional as always. Lychee martinis refreshing & yummy. House-baked buns fresh & warm. Smoked salmon appetizer flavourful & filling. The Artic Char was a major main course providing an exquisite palate of pleasurable tastes. And the crème brulee dessert - outstanding. My guests (whose meals were different in choice yet similar in quality) and I thoroughly enjoyed our time on this quiet, lovely street side patio. The service is equally exceptional - Angelo & Min are consummate hosts. Bumpkins is a memorable and marvelous restaurant experience. Well done. We will be back soon (indeed we made our next reservation before we left). M&M
fantastic service, fantastic food, great atmosphere
We are regulars at bumpkins. I remember when it first opened in the ‘70’s. Great food. The staff treat you like friends.
Maybe my new favourite restaurant in Toronto. Didn’t even know there was this level of food and service so close to Yonge & Bloor. Will definitely bring visitors to Bumpkin’s when I want them to have a great time.
Although I have been to Bumpkins several times for lunch, this was only my second visit for dinner. A friend of mine was visiting from Ottawa and I wanted to take her here for dinner and we both enjoyed it very much; everything, as always, was great.
I just wish that the scallops (best in Toronto) were on the lunch menu so that I could have them more often!
Food was excellent but inside a little dated. Service very good. Parking is tough, police ticket every car on the street after 7 PM unless you have a city permit.
Very enjoyable restaurant
We have dined here a few times and have never been disappointed - excellent service and food.
The food was delicious but I thought it was a little bland. After putting some salt, it was better.
Presentation was very good good.
Crêpes are mediocre. Looks like prepared crêpes, no béchamel sauce inside the crêpe as indicated on menu. They need to prepare their own cr^pes.
Salad, dressing, bread and coffee are excellent.
Lamb was not hot enough!!!
The restaurant was not busy but 2 guys who were not sitting together had a loud conversation between each other. Not interesting for us.
We really enjoyed our pre-theatre dinner recently at Bumpkins! The ambiance was very pleasant, the service excellent and the food delicious! We started with a deliciously creamy soup and fresh-baked buns, followed by sole for me and chicken parmesan for my husband. Both were delicious, and the roasted potatoes were just like my grandmother used to make. We had a lovely bottle of wine, coffee and shared a tartufo for dessert. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely go back. Service was great, and we got to the theatre right on time!
Delightful dining experience. The highlight was the service. The food was great and the atmosphere/decor perfect!
Too hot, felt like hot air is blasting at you
I was looking for a nice place to have a meal before I proposed to my girlfriend. We were driving in from Buffalo and our reservation kept being moved back. By the time we got to the restaurant, we were the only customers there. Despite having to stay later, the service, atmosphere, and food was a perfect combination for an important evening. She said yes!
Excellent Xmas Day dinner
Top notch food and service.
Thoroughly enjoyed Bumpkin's.
Will return again.
I always enjoy lunch at Bumpkins, either alone, or with a guest. Bumpkins is open on Christmas Eve!
Was welcomed like a good friend yet was our first visit. They took care to seat me +my date in a quiet corner yet in good view to people watch.
Wine glass never was empty until the bottle was. Meal was terrific for carnavoire and veģan alike. Dining room was bright, easy to view +move. Though place was full we could still converse in whispers.
We will return.
High prices, food was ok at best. Beer list was an embarrassment for a city with so many local craft breweries. 100s of bottles of wine but extremely limited beer list. Steak was gristle and thin and overly garlicked. Mushrooms were meh.
