Went for an anniversary dinner during Maine Restaurant Week and had a great time.
Our waitress seemed really inexperienced and clueless. The food was excellent, though the menu was a little limited. Mac and cheese was really good and not overpoweringly rich but a HUGE portion. Dessert was meh. Our service was so lousy the manager took 25% off our bill so that was nice.
We had a great Valentines Day dinner with the three course,prix-fix menu. It was delicious! Only marked down to 4 stars because several of the wait staff seemed bored and were checking on us every 3-5 minutes for a good half hour and it was overkill!
Food was delicious and nice ambiance! Drinks at Top of the East after was perfect.
We will go back!
It was absolutely terrible!!!! Went on New Years Eve and ordered their 4 course meal special. The food was average. The service was terrible. I got charged for extra drinks I didn’t order and I never received the dessert that was included in the special. I will never go back and if your reading this I recommend that you never go.
NY Eve but with few individuals in the restaurant when we arrived, on time. The host immediately complained that the table he wanted to seat us at was still occupied and sat us nearby. Excessive time for first contact from an overworked waiter. Had to ask twice for our bar drinks before they arrived. Food was slow to arrive, overpriced for volume and quality, often tag team delivered by harried kitchen staffer. Got louder as the dinner wore on but to be expected on NY Eve. Hardest to swallow was price for the overall experience. Would not recommend.
Service was extremely slow. Opened at 5; out of advertised entre by 6. Substitute entre was below par!
We were here for breakfast and had a wonderful time. We did not feel rushed at all like we did at other breakfast places. I will definitely come back again next time I stay in Portland Maine.
Food was average
Hotel restaurant that serves breakfast lunch and dinner, nothing fancy. Drinks good service good.
Food WOULD have been good if it were warm/hot. Much of what we ordered came to us room temp or close to it. Service was marginal...one server for the place. Despite the fact that it was a slow night there the service still was meh.
Great food
Great presentation
Great service
Birthday dessert prepared for hubby
How they can be affiliated with the Weston name is s shame.
I was frankly very disappointed. The website presented an upscale dining experience. What the restaurant actually is turns out to be no different than countless faceless motel “ bistros” . There was no need to have made a reservation, and they should change their website to reflect the utter ordinariness of the dining experience.
Lobster sliders awesome!
We were quite surprised to see this restaurant unattended. There was almost no one there. Unfortunately in spite of the lack of patrons, the two servers were not attentive and did not engage with us.
It took a while for our food to come out and when it did, much to our surprise and displeasure appetizers and entrees arrived at the same time????? The appetizers were warmer than the entrees????
The food was good for three of the four selections. The chef was competent.
The server was not.
Disappointed as the quality of the Westin should deliver a much better restaurant especially in a "foodie" city like Portland
We had never eaten here before and ordered a few appetizers; they were all really good and bread was awesome!
Too few servers on a very busy Friday evening. Hostess and kitchen staff pitched in to prevent a major problem but overall service and timeliness was not what it had been on previous visits. Food remained very good.
The service was horrible and I was in that restaurant four times while attending a conference in four days. The food was horrible and the prices are ridiculous. A beee costs $7 which is unheard of!
We went on a Friday. We were there 5:15 to 6:45. Only one or two pother customers. Didn't understand that. Maybe much to early.
Not very busy on a Saturday night. Food and service were great.
With all the great restaurants in Portland, eating at a hotel isn't something we would normally do, but we wanted a quiet place that was "easy". With the separate entrance, C2 doesn't feel like you're in a hotel but once inside, there's definitely a hotel vibe. The beet salad was GREAT, the flank steak and burger AWESOME, and the service very good. I'd say it's a very good option in the sea of Portland restaurants!
Food was great with a variety of choices and the service was very friendly and helpful. Very nice place for lunch and not too crowded.
Having forgotten to make reservations earlier I found a table at C2. It was restuarant week but they only had one wait staff. I told her I had theater tickets but since she had very little help I left without the third course of my meal. The food was adequate but the menu other than the restuarant week special was not particularly interesting.
The waitestaff was fair had to wait a long time for water refills and they were not that busy. The food was fair the nuts used were not cooked. I had not been there in a long time and it will be a long time till I go back. Not the quality servers or food you expect for the price. We paid over $200.00 for 2 people and did not have the experience food the price.
Friendly wait staff excellent food, drink menu dessert menu very nice. Arrived early sat us without wait.
Great food and service! Creative cocktails, however the drinks were a bit on the heavier side. If that’s your thing, then they were perfect.
Stuck in a hotel with a Christmas-Day reservation in Portland Oregon instead of Portland Maine? Lucky we found our error in time to get the last 2 PM booking at C2-Congress Squared Restaurant via Open Table! The food was OK and the service seemed harried although there weren't many patrons. Amazing we had the sense we were just squeezing in when the place was half empty. I suppose they were gearing up for a big slug of new customers right after we left. Restrooms almost impossible to find.
My companion had a plate of seared salmon and I had a modest serving of "sea scallops", these scallops far smaller than what I would expect from the Maine fisheries. Rhode Island's scallops are much larger. The food was good, well-arranged, but frankly I'm not into food-as-art. My companion's "hot rum toddy" was lukewarm at best and it took 15 minutes to get it back. The winter squash soup was excellent.
Christmas Eve dinner. I thought for the grandeur of the hotel, the restaurant wouldn’t look like the breakfast room of the Hampton Inn. The food was good. The waiter wore tired jeans and the lighting was bright. Not a good choice for dinner on the town, but probably suitable for breakfast if staying at the hotel.
Btw. I was disappointed in The Top of the East bar in the hotel. The chairs need to be replaced as the pleather was coming off on my clothes. The drinks were great, the service slow though our waiter was working very hard.
Food was not hot & was not anything special!
This was perhaps one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. I wish we had stayed at the bar upstairs, or ordered room service. Service was awful and the food was even worse. Save yourself the disappointment and go to the Chinese place down the street.
Did not expect the meal to be served buffet style. The service was very poor.
It's difficult to get excited when there are insects in the food!!!
The food was very poor and the place lacked any kind of ambiance. The chicken salad was not fresh at all. I had to wait for my dinner because the server had accidentally put in the wrong order, which meant two people ate while I waited for mine. We will not be back.
Where to start. The Brussels sprouts were barely cooked and tasteless, and the so-called "heirloom" tomato salad was inedible. Large tomato halves were served that were white inside, no edible flesh st all. Let's just say that I had a granola bar when I got back to my room! I certainly expected more from Westin.
Conveniently located, quiet, informal restaurant. Servers were friendly but service was slow, perhaps because they were also helping to prepare food. Salmon and haddock entrees were very good, if a bit spare. Cobb salad was disappointing.
Pork chop was excellent!
Worst service I have ever experienced.
We both ordered fish and chips. Both came out cold! When served, I asked the waitress for some malt vinegar. It never came.
Don’t waste your time and money here!
it was delicious perfect location cause we had tickets to the state theater...soo close
Only problem was a few flies and small bugs hovering about
Bland food for expensive price. The food was very bland and had little taste. It was also very pricey for what it was. It was pricey hotel food is how we would characterize it.
