Cafe Artemis - Campbell, CA
The food we ordered was delicious - just like always. In particular the starter sampler plate. It's not on the menu but you can ask for it.
Great discovery. I will goback.
Great fresh and wholesome ingredients at a fair price. If your looking for something unique and flavorful in a non pretentious and mellow ambiance give it a try.
Excellent dinner, great service. The garlic & shrimp ravioli was a big hit. As were the desserts. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Not super-fancy, but certainly a step above the usual family-friendly places.
Server was friendly and trying hard, but was having some problems, seemed to be new as a server. One of our entrees (party of 4) was not submitted to the kitchen with the other three, so there was a longer wait for the 4th entree.
Delicious food and beautiful decorations. Food portions can be bigger but really tasty dishes
Been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time but kept seeing mixed reviews. I have no idea why. It was fabulous and on a Sat night. We shared the sampler and the martini was perfect. Service was great as they did not rush us but watched to see our pace. Will go back!
The custard topped with cinnamon was "caramelized" after the cinnamon. That made the cinnamon taste burnt. Try topping after the "caramelizing" is done.
Service was terrible. My husbands meal came later than mine and the other couple we were with. We were almost done! I said to the waiter , "Is my husband joining us for dinner tonight?"
Cute place tucked into a back corner at the Pruneyard. For the most part, the food was quite good and it came to the table pretty quickly. We started with an appetizer sampler and all components were very good. Mixed drinks from the bar were terrible - their bartender had no idea what they were doing. The biggest disappointment was our server. She didn't know the specials, couldn't describe them and actually sent us out the door to read the board. She took our order and then came back to tell us they were out of one of the entrees and it was only 6 pm, so she should have known. We ordered a bottle of wine, which turned out to be a half bottle that had a screw-off top, which she just placed on the table unopened with the two glasses and left us to fend for ourselves. She came back to the table nearly every five minutes to ask us if we were ready to order before we'd even opened our menus, to ask us how everything was before we'd even had a chance to take a bite of our entrees, and way too many times during the meal. She cleared plates as people finished rather than wait for everyone to finish. She brought dessert menus but failed to tell us they were out of two of the five options. She didn't ask if anyone wanted coffee. She brought the check before we asked for it and before she asked if we wanted anything else and then she tried to take the check before we even opened it. While I could understand (even if I don't appreciate) some of this behavior if the place was packed and they were trying to turn the table, the place was maybe 50% full and we were the largest party there. If the drinks were good, we would have ordered more. If we weren't rushed, we would have stayed longer and drank more. Definitely a lost revenue opportunity for the restaurant because of this server.
It was a Saturday night so we expected it would be a long wait for service and food but it we were exceptionally surprised at the attentivness of the wait staff and how fast the food came which was cooked very well. My husband's rib-eye was done to his preference, my trout was pan fried and just a tad dry but seasoned well and my son enjoyed the kabobs . We also had lahmacun, calamari and saganaki opa (flaming asiagio cheese) and we enjoyed the lightness of the lahmacun (pizza style flat bread with ground beef) and the calamari -excellent. the saganaki had a bit of the taste of the liquor so would probably not order that again. We enjoyed the evening (to celebrate my birthday).
I have eaten there several times and loved it. Not this time. They changed their menu. My favorite dish, Lamb Kofte, is no longer on it. Not a big deal but when I added lamb to my salad they only gave me 4 very small pieces for $6.00. Not good. My fellow diner ordered Falafal and it was very dry. The service was just OK. Not enough staff for the number of patrons.
Located in the Pruneyard meant getting there early to find a decent parking spot. Upon entering, I found the temperature in the restaurant to be quite warm. The waiter was awesome and the food was ok. I really enjoyed the Peach/Lemonade.
We have been there several times and liked it. With out of town guests we wanted to impress It turned out tone awful. The we out of the beer we wanted, they were out of two of the seven main courses, they were out of 6 of the 7 desserts we wanted. The waiter acted really put out because we wanted all the things they were out of. We will not return.
We've been here before and had a great experience, good food and service. This time, the restaurant seemed overcrowded and not equipped to handle so many people at the same time. Our drinks were late, we had to ask for them, the server forgot. Then the meal was mediocre, and took at least 45+ minutes to arrive. It even took 10 minutes or so for the server to even acknowledge us at the table and bring water. One of our appetizers was saganaki, the Greek cheese grilled, then set on fire and such. The first batch turned out like a big gooey mess of melted cheese. The slice wasn't big enough and was overcooked and runny. Then the server put way too much alcohol on it and couldn't put out the fire. Opa! So she used way too much lemon to put it out and it became even more running, with the cheese swimming in the lemon juice. We sent it back and they brought us a new one, this time thicker. A bit undercooked (should be a bit more brown on the outside). Again, too much alcohol, too much lemon. Same issue. It's difficult to expect servers to know how to cook food properly. Maybe they need a bit more training. The actual flame is just for show and is entirely unnecessary. Just grill it properly and serve it and let the customer put lemon juice on it if they want. It was way too noisy and busy. We literally had to shout to hear each other. The staff seemed overwhelmed and the cook clearly didn't have the resources to serve all these people in a timely manner. I doubt we'll come back.
Food was very good but service was incredibly slow and non-existent. We were seated and served water right away. The waitress came by about 10 minutes later to take our order. We ordered an appetizer and for lunch 2 of us ordered wraps and one ordered a kabob. We got the appetizer about 25 minutes later with lunch 10 minutes after that. The food was good but given we met during our work lunch hour we were stressed at the end of the meal to pay and get back to the office.
The restaurant was not very busy - maybe 4 other tables being served so I can't say the restaurant was overwhelmed with guests that would justify, or at least explain, the incredibly slow service.
Outside dining was quite nice and pleasant. Would go there again but only if I have plenty of time so as not to be stressed during my meal.
Rez at 6:30, busy and very noisy by 7. They were short staffed and service was sluggish. Eventually we got our entree and we were very satisfied with our orders.
Comparing several visits over the last year, we find the service is a little uneven. On our last visit we had to remind our server more than once to bring items we ordered. Otherwise the quality/taste of the food is noteworthy. We will continue to dine at Cafe Artemis from time to time as the experience and cuisine is always enjoyable in a pleasant and relaxing environment.
I have been to Artemis four times. I love their menu choices and their excellent coffee. I truly enjoy this restaurant.
Appetizers were good. Serving sizes has much to be desired. All the kebabs we ordered were overcooked. Dessert was great, but not enough to make up for entrees.
The service was good, and the ambience (we sat outside) was very nice and relaxing. The food we had was also good. That said, when we decided on the restaurant we focused on the fact it was Greek. When we ordered two of us ordered dishes with lamb, only to be told that the restaurant was out of lamb! A Greek restaurant out of lamb is similar to an Italian restaurant out of pasta. No explanation was given, probably because no explanation could be given that would be acceptable. I don't know if I would try them again - maybe, but first I would ask if they had all of their menu items available.
We have traveled frequently to the eastern Mediterranean and really appreciate the food here. They do something magic with the salmon shish-ke-bab. Very international wine list, too.
We had a group of 11. Service was good, and everyone enjoyed the food. Several said they would like to come back. They were out of beef, but otherwise there was no problem with any other menu order. I had the salmon kebab, and it was delicious.
Cafe Artemis is a wonderful neighborhood gem! Happy hour cocktail prices are great, food is healthy. This review box is difficult to type in, so I have to stop here, sorry!
Was not as good as the other two times I've been there. We arrived at 11:30 (half hour after it opens). Soup of the day was not available; it wasn't cooked. Chicken was a little dry and the vegetables were more dente than done. Service, as always, was wonderful.
My daughter, grandkids & I came to eat before a movie. One child ordered the lemon chicken soup (watery & tasteless), one ordered rib eye steak cooked medium. I ordered a Greek salad with chicken (chicken was dry). When his food came, the steak did not look like a good quality rib eye. There was a lot of fat & gristle. He tried to make the best of it, but fully 1/3 of the steak was inedible. Also, it was medium rare, not medium. Our server had disappeared & never came back. We had requested additional bread 20 minutes prior to our food coming, he said, "Okay" but never brought it. Not once did the server come to check on us the entire meal to see how our food was, or we would have told him how unacceptable the steak was. We were running out of time, so he ate as much of the steak as he could. It only came with a small side of fries, it was really overpriced at $24! Finally, the server came over & said, "Are you ladies done?" & I said, "Yes, but we did have a problem with the steak." He could see a large amount of inedible pieces left on the plate. He copped an attitude, & with a smirk said, "Ma'am, it's a RIBEYE, they have fat on them!" I told him I was aware of that & have had many rib eyes, but this one had excessive fat & gristle. He almost rolled his eyes at me & was giving us this look like we were trying to pull a fast one! My daughter (who is a server) told him, "You never ONCE checked with us to see if the food was satisfactory, if you had, we could have told you about the problem!" She said we were not asking for a free meal, just a discount in light of the poor quality. He looked disgustedly at us & talked to his manager, who gave us 30% off. We never even complained about the watery soup or dry chicken! For the first time EVER, we did not leave a tip. We tend to over tip, even for service which isn't that good, because we know how hard it is to be a server. But his horrible attitude & treatment led us to leave him no tip. He didn't deserve one.
Service was wonderful - sat us right away and got everything on point! We ordered Tapas style for 2 and each of the 4 dishes were delicious - high up there on our list of go-to spots!
Food was poor. 3 people ate dinner. All 3 dishes were just not good. And they were really basic Greek staple foods: falafel (dry, tasteless), beef and chicken kabobs (tasteless), swordfish (3 small pieces of fish). Nothing was good about this meal. Sorry.
We were a party of 9, table was ready upon arrival. Service was outstanding; our waiter made excellent suggestions and we all agreed the food was superb. It just took a really long time to get our meals.
Great lunch, server was great, she knew there was a party of 20 that sat down just before we did and she made it a point to get our order in before theirs to avoided a long wait.
The food was great The service was horrible. We waited 45 minutes and asked several times when we would get our food.
The Greek food proposed at Cafe Artemis is one of the best in the area. Portions are very large for a reasonable price.
Great food, great service, memorable graduation lunch with family.
They didn't turn on A/C on when it was the hottest day of the year. We had to ask them to turn on. They even didn't serve ice water . There were only few tables but food came out so late. On top of that nobody came by asking how we're doing. However, they didn't forget to charge 20% tip on the bill because my party was more than 6 people. The fastest thing they could do was taking the money!
Try the red lentil soup--so good. Chicken is moist and lemony, vegetables crisp--perhaps too much starch on the plate (rice and bulgur). Service was professional and quick. No one rushed you though the patio is a busy place.
Excellent service, the server was probably the manager or owner. The seating was very comfortable, the booths by the window are quiet and large.
The Lentil soup and Kabobs are to die for. We always enjoy our food here.
The food is good and prices are affordable. Great service and nice decor.
The restaurant was good overall. Ambiance was above average, service was very attentive and helpful, food came out on time, and quality of the food was very good. I would recommend this as a good choice for a group such as our(5). We all enjoyed our meals and everyone left very satisfied. I would recommend .
Cafe Artemis always has great food and a wide selection too. Everything is always fresh and full of flavor. The waiters are very friendly every time I come in, and make great suggestions. The one takeaway is that we dined during a mild night and were seated just one short wall from the kitchen, which made the temperature go way up for us as a group. Would have been nice to close the doors and turn on the A/C for the restaurant. Other from that, no complaints.
