    So so food with mediocre service (one hour before we placed main course order, mistakes with orders) and extreemly high background noise. If you want a conversation at dinner, do not let them seat you in the back room, very poor acoustics. I had a headache after two hours! Most of the specialty drinks we tried seem to have very little alcohol. Very poor value for the money.

    We were worried last year when Cafe L’Europe changed owners that the quality and old world charm may not be maintained HOWEVER, we were pleasantly surprised that the ambiance we always loved remains intact and is ENHANCED with the lovely and tasteful renovations. The new bar is exquisite and makes much better use of the middle room. Morgan was a fantastic server - she was attentive and charming, even on such a busy holiday. The turkey dinner was excellent, so we hope to continue to celebrate many more Thanksgiving dinners at Cafe L’Europe.

    It was clear that diner traffic was heavy and the restaurant was understaffed, but the owners were working the tables, and the place was as good if not better than usual. It is worth celebrating its 50th Anniversary there.

    We hadn’t been since the renovation took place and the new bar area is very nice. We sat in the middle of the original part of the restaurant and it was extremely noisy. It was difficult to have a conversation with the other couple at our table. It took a while to get a drink and our water glasses were never refilled. I had the Scallop entree and the scallops were covered with mashed potatoes and it wasn’t good at all. We were disappointed with the overall dining experience.

    Excellent and unique traditional restaurant in St Armands in Sarasota. Excellent food and service. Our server Morgan H was the best. Excellent food. We had the scallops and the trout almondine. The best both of them. The lobster bisque the best we had in a long time. The tarta de santiago for dessert spectacular. In Cafe L’Europe it seems you are in a real french restaurant in France. If you are in the area do miss Cafe L’ Europe.

    This is a newly renovated restaurant under new management and gets five stars all the way! The food, service and ambiance are all extraordinary. I enjoyed the grouper fish and chips, but grilled rather than the usual fried and I had a side salad in lieu of the French fries. My luncheon partner had tuna nicoise and the other a wedge salad with blue cheese and added grilled grouper. All fabulous! We started lunch at the beautiful new underlit bar and Micha the bartender made terrific scratch bloody Mary's.

    We were much looking forward to our return to Cafe L’Europe after forty five years. Our return was marred by my entree - the seared scallops special. When served, the scallops were still very cold inside. The waiter took my plate back to the kitchen and returned a few minutes later with a piping hot plate. My guess is the plate went right in the oven. I was then able to eat the scallops. They were, frankly, bland and showed no evidence of searing. A disappointment. Another disappointment was when our check arrived and no adjustment was made in our bill. Bad form. We won’t be back.

    The noise level felt as if we were at a rock concert. Difficult to have a conversation. Loudest restaurant experience I have ever had. Was a disappointing night. Was seated between a table of 18 and a table of 10. Service was slowed because of the large tables. Was impressed by the renovations made at the restaurant.

    Hadn't been to Cafe LeEurope for over 10 yrs- my has it changed. Had reservation when we entered no one there to greet diners, waited a few minutes for manager to notice us. Seated in rear section which we really liked. The remodel looked great though. Took about 5 minutes for server to get to table. We had empty drinks and empty water glasses for long periods. Had to get up and walk over to refill our own water glasses. I had the scallop dish and it was overcooked bay scallops (5) in a small mashed potato casserole which totally overpowered the scallops. My wife loved her duck and the crab cake app was very good. When we finished the empty dishes sat on our table for 10 minutes while the server walked back and forth. Server would never look around to see what. his tables needed and only focused on one task at a Time. The manager stood behind the bar chatting and never looked to see how the patrons dining experience was going. Another table had to get up and get their own flatware. Very disappointing experience and not worth the price for decent food and poor service where the guest does not feel appreciated.

    Our hostess was so friendly and accommodating. We chatted about our love of classical music and waitress, Mariana from Italy was so much fun. A delightful evening overall. Food and wine were delightful. Crème brûlée was delish.

    We love this restaurant and have been dining here during our last 4 years living in Sarasota. Food is exceptional and top notch. We love the new bar that was under construction during the previous dining experience. We ordered the potato crusted grouper and scallops. Delicious chocolate lave cake! We can’t wait to return!

    It took us three years here to discover De l'Europe, and it is now our favorite restaurant in Sarasota/Longboat. The quality and especially the variety of the cooking is head and shoulders above anything else we have found. The service is the most professional, thoughtful, and unobtrusive of anything else we have found. And the prices are extremely reasonable, not just for this level of quality, but standing by themselves. Last night, having told them it was our anniversary, they brought out pie with candles, on a platter that said Happy Anniversary.

    Went for the Halloween experience. Place is beautiful and service as top notch. The Halloween experience was a little pricey. But the regular menu didn’t seem any more expensive than most nice restaurants. I would come here again for a regular dinner.

    Cafe L'Europe is set in the pleasant St Armand's circle. We sat outside as it was a lovely evening. The waiting staff were warm and friendly but were clearly a little understaffed as they took a while to take our order and could have been more attentive. However, it was relatively busy and the waiters were clearly working as quickly as they could. We had a burrata sharer board and duck l'orange. The food was good, well presented and tasty. I also had a desert of tiramisu which was excellent. Overall this was a pleasant evening out with good food. However, it lacked any sort of "wow" factor to justify what was quite a high price for an evening out for two.

    We went for brunch and sat just inside, with all the doors open it was like sitting outside with the benefit of air conditioning. The service and food were excellent! We will definitely go again!

    We enjoyed the food, but the entree menu could be expanded.The service was not up to par. For example: 1 Three of our party ordered alcohol one ordered a club soda with a splash of cranberry with a piece of lime. The 3 drinks took a while to be served and the soda came 10 minutes later without the lime. 2. Food came but when we were finished the server only removed 2 plates the remaining 2 were sitting for at least 15 minutes. We ordered coffee and it was good. A few minutes later my husband asked for the check because he was tired of waiting. This is not an inexpensive restaurant and expectations were high. We will not be back.

    Hadn't been back to this restaurant for a long time. It was a bit dated back when I came maybe 8 years ago! But NEW OWNERSHIP made a huge difference! So glad I made it back there to enjoy the beautiful stylish looking restaurant full of color, sparkling lights and welcoming people. My friend and I were treated with warmth and respect and we just loved our evening! The food is exceptional. I had the Lobster Bisque which was the best yet! She had the French Onion Soup inside a whole onion!! She said she had never had better! I had the Duck that wasn't fatty at all! Yay! My friend had the Filet Steak which was cooked to perfection! Ended up with Flambe Bananas Foster drooled over vanilla ice cream! I can say that I judge a restaurant's quality on the Lobster Bisque. There is a perfect way to freshly make it and their Chef totally owns this! My background is that I am a British fully trained Chef for Hotels and Restaurants in Great Britain and Europe. I was taught in the French Style with ingredients and herbs to make the flavors all naturally. This Chef has that knowledge and it reflects in the flavors not being drowned in Salt or Sugar! That is the best indicator of an EXCELLENT Restaurant! This is the best example to date in my 23 years of living in Florida. I would suggest it sits between a 1 and 2 Star Michelin! This location affords a massive amount of space with their expansion through the back. Private Rooms and perfect for a wedding dinner etc. Really very beautifully presented. Its my new Go To without doubt! Thank you to the Staff and General Manager Kevin for making us feel very welcome!

    You can always rely on Cafe L'Europe to make the celebration of your special occasion simply magnificent. The quality of the food, the friendliness and professionalism of the waitstaff (Thank You Sue!), and the atmosphere all make for a most enjoyable meal.     Server was dressed nice but no personality and made mistakes. Steak Tartare should be removed from menu as it was flavorless had pieces of bone and was served with bland Melba toast. Did not eat and no one asked why.. Fennel Apple salad had almost no fennel but lots of Marconi Almonds but was good otherwise Bread Service was good but whipped chive butter needs adjustment. Duck in Orange Sauce was two confit breasts and was good . Dover Soul and veggies were good except mushrooms in the lemon sauce . They don’t work. No drinks $200 for 2 stars

    We were looking forward to a wonderful experience as we had been promised when the reservation was made to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Our last reservation on September 16 was canceled by management due to repairs after Hurricane Idalia. We were told that October 14 would be outstanding. They did not have a table ready for us and we ended up in the back room without any server for a long time. The beet salad had to be sent back, the entrees were barely acceptable, making for an awkward evening at best. We will not return

    This continues to be our favorite restaurant since our first time in 2013- while owners changed everything including service, food, ambiance is fantastic We had an incredible dinner last night The Matre D Manuel accommodated us 30 min early, Juan Carlos our server was as nice as can be, food was timely and terrific - burrata. Caesar salad with white anchovy, French onion soup is worth the drive from Orlando anytime, the duck and short rib were truly both outstanding. As I watch others walk by, I wanted to shout to them “big mistake “ Must try - we can’t wait to come back.
