Casa Orinda

ALWAYS a local favorite!!! And the fried chicken...a staple!!
The food, service & ambience was great!
Fabulous....always!
Great atmosphere. Great menu. There’s something for everyone, kiddos included.
The last few times we’ve dined with you we’ve ended up gobbling our food to get to another place where we can enjoy each other’s company and conversation - Casa Orinda has become such a noisy place. Granted we are not spring chickens and DO wear hearing aids, which are completely our own problems. Is there an area of seating that we could request that would be a bit quieter? We DO do like dining there and have been for many years!
We haven’t been to Casa Orinda in years, and were eager to be back in the East Bay and go again! The fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, biscuits and honey was EXACTLY as I remembered! Excellent, on every level! Great bar area, really friendly hostess and server. Reasonable prices too. Go - you’ll be happy you did!
Delicious food, always great service. Oh, and let's not forget the valet service!
We frequent about 4 times a year. We drive in from brentwood so it’s quite a long drive. We brought guests with us to try the famous chicken. The 3 stars is because the chicken was not hot is was barely warm. The chicken was very moist but needed to be hot to really enjoy. We also ordered a soup and that was only like warm as well. I do have a complaint, the dinner should come with a small salad and it’s ridiculous that it’s an extra charge of aporox 8.50 for plain iceberg lettuce and 1 small disk of a beet. If you wont include with meal the price should not be more than 4.00. W we do normally love casa orinda but not this time
Consistently good food, fun ambience, friendly and attentive service. A great local spot.
Been coming to Casa for decades. Our server was pleasant but not very quick with requests, like a steak knife. The noise level was much louder than I experienced in the past. Little things, like no espresso and no St. Germain, were mildly annoying.
Delicious food! And our server (s) were attentive and friendly. We sat in the main dining room, which did get loud, our table was loud too, but for someone with a hearing problem, it would have been way too noisy. The zucchini appetizer was delicious and everyone loved their entrees, mostly the fried chicken and veal dishes. We were disappointed that salmon was not on the menu. Have had it here before, and it is heavenly. Casa Orinda is a fun, old school restaurant, with a lively bar too!
Fabulous cocktails, appetizers, and extraordinary food (particularly the halibut special). The service from welcoming greeting through amazing attention to details and perfection of timing by our server Christine was unparalleled and will keep us coming back! (The valet parking makes it a breeze entering and leaving.) Thank you!
It was a late dinner which was perfect. We sat next to the fireplace- cozy yet energetic atmosphere. Food was good! Loved the zucchini crisps, well seasoned and not oily. My shrimp Louie salad has filling, fresh bay shrimp.
Too noisy. Can’t converse with the noise level. Ceiling should have acoustics to curb the extreme noise level.
We've been coming to Casa Orinda for YEARS (decades?)! Love it!!
Great service, fantastic food...and so much of it!
Great food, wonderful staff. Birthday boy had his Fav fried chicken dinner (awesome). I had the prime rib (so good).
Casa Orinda is our go to restaurant for special occasions and date night.
Great place to eat. Food and service is very good.
We always enjoy Casa Orinda and especially the fried chicken. Four of us shared two appetizers which were both very good, the beet salad was generous and flavorful, the fried calamari was crisp, tasty and very tender.
The chicken this trip was still very good, tender and juicy but lacked the crunch and crispy texture we have enjoyed in the past. It was a busy night and the four of us all ordered the chicken so it could be they just were a bit rushed.
All in all another lovely time and we will be back and hopefully so will the crispy chicken.
Great food just very noisy for a Tuesday night.
Fried chicken is the best and sole with caper sauce was excellent.
This is one of my favorite places to go to. Very casual and the food is always great. I usually have the fried chicken but decided to try the Petrale Sole, it was done perfectly. The fried chicken is such a huge meal and always chrunchy and juicy. And my cocktail is made the way I love it.
Fried chicken and prime rib were awesome! Lemon pie and creme brûlée were so good!
Dinner with 3 others. My opinion - I had rack of lamb, mashed potatoes and veggies. Lamb was cooked to order, but lack of seasoning left it a little bland. Mashed Potatoes were not firm enough. Gravy runny. Desserts were delish. Others enjoyed their meals more than I did.
Always a great go to place. Best fried chicken and juicy tender prime rib.
Was seated right away, good service, food was very good didn't make my excellent list but close , very friendly staff. Pretty pricey for chicken dishes would make this a special occasion place for me.
Always excellent! 3verythi g was perfect. W3 look forward to our occasional fried chicken dinner
Good food, great atmosphere, outstanding service!
Fried chicken has changed. Soggy, not crispy. Mashed potatoes and grave both watery. Hoping this was a one time thing.
Old School restaurant with fantastic food. We drive from Sacramento to dine there. Love everything about it!
We happen to dine at the Casa during night 1 of Miramonte High School reunion weekend and the place was super busy. However, I preordered the famous Chicken dinner for the table to be served family style and it was absolutely terrific! Our server was super helpful and was easily available for our drop by dinner from other guests joining the reunion. The food was delicious and plentiful. An Orinda institution not to be missed.
We had fried chicken and prime rib. But the lemon cream pie was the hands down winner. We were in a back room and a large party made it difficult to hear at our table. The waitress acknowledged it was really loud, so maybe that is not always an issue.
Great bar & bartender. Excellent server.
The menu is varied, eclectic & easy to find something you want
Great ambiance with Western scenes, rodeos, great old gun collection room for private parties, comfortable bar great for eating if alone, friendly bartenders . Plus food variety for everyone. Steaks, prime rib fit for a king, Italian food, even ham steak and eggs with hash browns.
A Classic... this is the place to go for a nice atmosphere and good food. Our party had four different items and we all enjoyed. We especially enjoyed the Cannelloni with it's rich filing and baked to perfection. Also enjoyed was the special of a french dip. Tender meat and fresh bread... what could be better. As usual, the bar was amazing...delicious
Great place with an old school vibe (both menu and ambiance). Love it!!!
Great meal. We all had a different entree and all were excellent. Prime rib and rack of lamb outstanding
Always great!!!
Celebrating a birthday and everyone in our party of 7 was very happy. Great food, friendly and excellent service Also great deserts too !
Party of 4 were looking forward to eating out together. Two of us were salivating over the thought of the sweetbreads at Casa Orinda. Two of us were anxious for our scotch old fashioneds before dinner. All of us weren’t disappointed! Service, drinks and food were outstanding!
In the past, the prime rib at Casa Orinda has been tender and tasty. This time the meat was tough and tasteless. Very disappointing!
