Chili Club Ratings und Bewertungen
Food and service was really good. It is an old restaurant and could do with a facelift!!, in particular the bathrooms. I love thai food and the spicier the better, which it was. We had the winter menu for 2 for €60 euro, which is the early bird menu plus a bottle of house wine. Good food, good value
We ate here on 27 December, a table of 4. Food was excellent with a good choice. However, we felt that the service was definitely lacking. The guy serving us gave off a real sense that he didn’t want to be there. His manner, whilst not rude, was very perfunctory and sometimes bordering on abrupt. Conversations were had with absolutely no eye contact. We may have just have caught him on a bad day. Finally, we were seated upstairs. There was a plug in heater but it was still quite cold, so perhaps ask for a table downstairs if booking. We would go back for the food and in the hope that the rest of the experience would match up next time.
I am a faithful Chili Club fan and have been dining in this cosy, quirky little house venue for the past twenty years. The food is consistently good and the welcome always warm. I would always highly recommend it. The joy of it is that it's a well-kept secret among Dublin stalwarts as it's hidden up a little alley way off South Anne Street.
Booked table for 6.30, mains didn’t arrive until 7.50
One water glass had 2 major chips in it
Service took a long time. Starter arrrived about 20 minutes after ordering but mains were a long time after that.
Starters were also a very small portion and very expensive- €7.50 for 5 vegetable spring rolls.
One main ordered was yellow curry with tofu and vegetables but there was no tofu or potatoes when it came. Server apologised, took it away then returned and said there actually were potatoes and that tofu hadn’t been written on the order form as if this was a fault on our part. Server was really quite rude and short with us after this.
Surprised that boiled rice was an additional €2 charge as this was not clear on the menu. Overall, we were disappointed with our experience.
Overall great, the food was lovely and the ambience was pleasant. Nice cozy little restaurant.
The waitress was really friendly however even though it's a small place she was the only waitress and responsible for everything including setting and clearing the tables. We had to wait a long time for the food, items were missing on the table (knives, plates), one friend's dish was cold. The waitress took it back to have it re-heated and eventually we had to ask her to bring it back. They could do with an extra waitress, it would greatly improve the service.
Food was delicious. One of the better Thai restaurants in Dublin. Waitress was very attentive. Place is very small inside but once it fills up there’s a nice cosy atmosphere. Even the lemon sorbet dessert was perfect. No complaints. Will definitely be back.
Delighted to get a table at late notice in one of Dublin's favourite Thai restaurants. Food great ambience cos and great for chatting with your table. Lovely fish dishes which I especially liked and a good wine selection. Delighted that the Chilli Club continues to produce great food in a great location with excellent staff.
Starters were average
Mains were excellent
Service was disjointed with mains coming quite a time apart, from each other which I find unacceptable , particularly if only two of you. Better both late ! That said our server was very apologetic and attentive and made up for it. Would still recommend!
Food is very good. Really enjoyable experience and would return gladly. Nothing was a problem and the service was very good also. The dining area is small and intimate but tastefully decorated. The food was excellent and all plates were sent back clean! !
Great location really like this restaurant , staff friendly food just amazing and great wines to choose from , I had the green Thai chicken curry very tasty and the others had prawn stir fry and prawn massaman curry all delicious . Can't go wrong with this place really lovely .
Nice Traditional Thai Food in the heart of Dublin. The food was excellent with the right amount of spice. They accommodated us to be able to make the theater which is right around the corner. The service was excellent and could not ask for more.
We had a lovely Thai meal here--everyone had a good time. My Boozy Duck was very tasty but spicy--they take no prisoners with the heat! We had a nice bottle of wine with the meal as well, plus excellent desserts (not traditional Thai desserts, I should add). We'll definitely be back.
Don't let the name put you off if you are not a Chilli lover. There are plenty of non spicy options. If you are elderly or have any mobility problems book a ground floor table as the stairs are very steep and daunting. The washroom facilities are adequate if a little cramped. There were three of us on the night. Two opted for sliced duck with hoisin sauce, cucumber, spring anion and pancakes. The duck although tasty was on the dry side and the sauce was from a bottle. The number of pancakes was miserly although more were produced on request without demur. Our gourmet diner opted for the Thai classic "satay chicken". The chicken which was grilled he declared to be flavoursome but the sauce though tasty lacked that intense groundnut flavour he expected. Mains were were stir fried garlic or ginger and veggies with optional chilli content coupled with chicken or beef. The chicken was well received but our gourmet found the beef chewy and would have preferred well trimmed sirloin rather than the cheaper round cut. All this was accompanied by decent rice and noodles which were charged separately which is a bit like serving fish and chips without the chips, a practice which has crept into tourist areas in recent rimes. We washed it all down with a passable Sav Blanc from an uninspiring wine list. Coffee and brandy was not possible as they do not have a spirit licence. Service was friendly but slow. The bill came to €120 for starters and mains including wine. Not too bad. You can have a pleasant meal here but be warned, you will need crampons, to get upstairs
