Great place to meet for a nice lunch and dinner talking with friends
Very nice setting, good food
Great service and a fantastic brunch. Loved the outside patio.
We enjoyed outdoor lunch on 10-23-20 in perfect warm weather. Service and food were great.
Wonderful lunch as always. We dined on the patio snd we each had different salads. The only minor issue was that our server did not know Clyde’s validates parking at Reston Town Center. I’m sure she knows now. We’ll be back soon!
First dinner out with a friend in approximately 7 months. Ate outdoors on the patio; service was exceptional! Food was delicious. Wine recommendation was excellent.
Perfect place for outdoor seating during COVID-19!
absolutely amazing food and outstanding service! have zero complaints
Great food, service and atmosphere! Definitely recommended!
Second time around in the past month, was another great experience! The service was impeccable... Armando had personality, was quick on his feet, and determined to make us 100% satisfied! We appreciated the friendliness of all the staff, and the surprise birthday dessert for the celebrant, even though we were there for brunch! The manager on duty (Jim) came over to chat, and, like PJ, had a wonderful sense of humour!
Thank you for allowing us to celebrate my 25 year old in a special way!!!
The management is great! Highly recommend!
We sat outside which is why the noise level was low. The food was an excellent value as well as delicious. The only problem we had was our service. For some reason, our server was not very attentive to our needs. We would not see him for long periods of time. Now we came at 4:00 pm on a Thursday night. Plenty of empty tables. I could not see where he would be busy.
We sat at the table for 15 minutes before anyone came over then when someone did they said they would be right back. Ten minutes later- no one. Then my son finally got a sprite and it was flat. Our calamari was burned and fishy. Still hardly any service so we said we were going to leave. We hadn’t touched our food but we’re still charged. I found the experience to be unacceptable and I used to be in the restaurant business
We have eaten at this Clyde's for many years and have always been pleased. It's been a family "go to" restaurant. This last experience was abnormal because of Covid. We had a reservation for the patio had to move inside because of rainy weather. We were concerned about this, but were able to have an indoor table far removed from others at the back of the restaurant which we were comfortable with. The problem we had is that there were quite a few children, well over the age of 2 (CDC guidelines for mask wearing), not wearing masks, and walking around the restaurant, and right by our table. We wish the management were better about enforcing the mask wearing at this restaurant so that we'd feel comfortable going here during the rest of the pandemic. At this point we won't be making any plans to go back until sometime next year when it's safe. Besides this, we love Clyde's! I'd only recommend with caution.
We celebrated my daughter’s 21st birthday at brunch at Clyde’s. Since Covid, I have only dined outdoors at restaurants. The weather was rainy yesterday, so we ate indoors, with some ambivalence. I must say that Clyde’s did a wonderful job of keeping patrons safely distanced and all employees wore masks. Our servers were friendly and helpful.
The service was good but the food wasn’t. Was not worth the money.
My lobster was excellent and was a great value. The baked potato wasn' quite done to my satisfaction but I didn't bother to send it back. Love the restaurant and they are a reliable go-to.
We chose Clyde’s because we could sit outside and bring my dog. She was well behaved and the staff were kind and accommodating. The server was knowledgeable and gracious throughout and service was prompt. Definitely will return!
I have no complaints!! Everything was excellent, right down to the server, fall drinks and the incredible food that never disappoints! And there is that HUGE patio that can accommodate so many patrons! Remember that you're outside though-- and be mindful of all the kids that are playing on the turf. The screaming was a little much, but hey, I'll be back because you really can't beat the surroundings during these crazy times. Thank you Clyde's for an enjoyable dinner!
It was good
My friend and I had an awesome experience in the outdoor dining area for brunch. The staff was helpful and attentive. The food was delicious. As a starter, we had the CRAB & ARTICHOKE DIP. It was divine. I will be dreaming about this dish for weeks! I had the EGGS CHESAPEAKE (jumbo lump crab cakes, Old Bay hollandaise, English muffin, brunch potatoes). It also had two poached eggs on the top. I really enjoyed it. It all went well with my peach Bellini and pineapple mimosa. This will be a place to return to again and again!
Stephanie was a great server, she read the table quite well.
Clyde's is an old favourite of mine! I love the ambiance in the restaurant, and at the Reston Town Centre in general. We were a party of 5 this evening and felt right at home from start to finish! The staff were all very welcoming, friendly, helpful (even with the parking app. which was extra complex), and accommodating.
While initially there was some confusion in our order, etc., it was quickly addressed. Our waitress, Silvia, was very pleasant, efficient, attentive and eager to ensure our full satisfaction, and we really appreciated that. The Asst. General Manager, PJ (not pyjamas! :) was our kind of manager! He came to our table to check on us, patiently listened to our concerns about the confusion, apologised and candidly shared his desire to satisfy all customers. He had a fabulous sense of humour, and married it perfectly with professionalism. And then, much to our surprise, he removed a good chunk of our bill and asked that we return soon, requesting us to let him know ahead of time so he can take care of us! We recognise things are difficult these days, and restaurants are struggling to stay afloat, so we were particularly impressed with his gesture, and truly appreciate it. Loved the calamari, chicken wings and the cheesecake! And our tea was served with piping hot water, so Clyde's gets an extra bonus point for that! We had a really good evening eating, chatting and laughing amongst ourselves, and didn't even notice we had spent almost 4 hours there! It was a good break.
The lobster was was really tasteless and too cold by the time it got to us.
I had the lobster shepherds pie. It was full of lobster and very flavorful. I highly recommend it.
Ordered double lobsters and the first 3 came and then another 20 minutes for the 4th , and it was chewy......I think they lost the order?
Crab dip delicious, same with stuffed baked potatoes.
Lovely day on the patio...great service and staff and management.
Felt safe during covid!
The menu was very limited. It seem like the bar did not have any liquor to make our drinks
Pleasant outdoor seating. Excelent service. Engaged manager. Varied menu. Quality food.
Great service and food—overall great experience.
Food was good, not great. Trout had too much crumb crust on it. Swordfish pretty small piece. The accompanying vegetables were delicious. We sat outside and it was beautiful. Our waitress was sweet, but too sweet. Constantly "checking back" with "how are WE doing now?" "Have WE saved room for dessert?" Also people constantly walking past the table to clear dishes. Not very relaxing.
Love Clydes. We lived in NOVA for 15 years, so on our visit back had to make Clydes of Reston a must do!!
We've been coming to Clyde's for many years and have always enjoyed ourselves. We sat outside again and were happy to have the heaters - very comfortable. We'll be back, of course!
Social distancing tables was excellent and rules very clear on wearing masks. Our waiter was a young man that was very nice and friendly- efficient too. We had a great evening.
Good food. Friendly service. Clean restaurant.
My only complaint was that the service was so extremely slow. We were there for 2.5 hours, just waiting, waiting, waiting for the server to take our order, for our food to come, for the check to come - and we were only there for lunch in a mostly empty restaurant.
We skipped desert and went across the street to Ben & Jerry's just to finally get out of there.
Great social distancing observed. People were wearing masks.
A+ for following covid guidelines
Overall a really nice dinner and I'd recommend Clyde's to anyone who's looking for good food, good service, and enjoyable surroundings. We were a party of four, arrived 15 minutes ahead of our reservation time, but were seated immediately at an outside table as requested. It was Saturday evening so very busy. Server appeared to be a bit overextended (we had to wave her down in order to place orders for drinks, then appetizers) but pleasant. Bottles of water were promptly served, and cocktails/wine orders were delivered as requested. Appetizers: pimento (pimiento?) cheese spread with toast and crab dip were delicious and adequate for 4. Entrées: 3 of us had the lobster special and one had the filet mignon. Everyone was very pleased with their meal.
Reasons for 4 vs 5 stars: minimal attention by server, lobsters were questionably 1-1/4# as advertised ( though extremely tasty), and fries were lukewarm at best.
Still, we'll return. Clyde's is a treasured institution in DC and continues to deliver an excellent product in pleasant surroundings during these difficult times.
Our server, Mike, was wonderdul! Great sense of humor and attentive service was a major reason why we all had a great meal. The hostess who seated us was very pleasant especially since she seemed to become, to other patrons, tour guide and shoulder for them to gripe about things. I have been to Clyes many times over the years and this was typical of what I have experienced...outstanding service and food!
Three of us went in specifically for the $21.99 lobster special. And we shared the deviled eggs appetizer. Everything was really terrific!! The French fries and small side of slaw were delicious accompaniments to the 1 1/4 lobster. A little messy. Filling. Just enough. We hope to go back for the special again if it’s still available.
We had a very enjoyable evening with our lobsters on the patio. The food was delicious. The waitstaff were excellent. I had called ahead to ask for a table close to the entrance to accommodate a person who uses a walker. Our request was met, which was much appreciated. It's always a good time at Clyde's.
