Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Wheeling
We had a reservation and arrived 15 minutes early., checked in and went to the bar to wait. 15 minutes after our reservation time with no contact we checked in again and were told they assumed we were eating in the bar and we would have to wait again if we wanted a table . What was the point of making a reservation! Another 15 minutes and they semi redeemed by having a booth available. Food was good not great. Service good not great. Definitely disappointed based on past visits to this location
While the food was good, we were served the incorrect menu item still good but incorrect. I had the Carne Asada tacos and the meat was chewy. Service excellent and would recommend.
The food was just ok. Everything used to be so much better.
The food used to be excellent but they definitely need to work on the menu. Maybe offer less options but better quality and preparation..
Super busy and super loud , but the food and wine never disappoint.
Always great food and drink!
As usual everything was amazing. We had the October special, which was a 10 ounce ribeye. What a steak!
Great food and wine
Mike was a great server, knew the menu, was attentive but not fawning. Assisted at the appropriate times, recognizing that we were having a conversation and adjusting his service accordingly. We think all the servers must go to Coopershawk Server school, because they know the wines and drinks and the menu and they always say “excellent choice” whatever you order. lol. We love that Coopershawk will split the salads in the kitchen and the food is ALWAYS lovely and delicious and portions adequate. It would be nice to have a soup that is not creamy, though. Seems like all soups are the thick kind. It was a very busy Friday night. The noise level was high, but surprisingly it was not annoying. It just felt like everyone at all the tables was having a wonderful time. Lots of animated conversations, smiles and laughter! I felt like I was at a party but didn’t need to tax myself to mingle. It looked like every table and booth was occupied at 7pm. Kudos to the hostess staff! PS. The Bloody Mary’s do not disappoint. The skewer has an Olive, chunk of cheddar, 2 sausage slices, 1 shrimp, a cherry tomato and a dill pickle with a beer sidecar. It’s like having an appetizer with your drink. I recommend the shaved Brussels sprout salad, lightly dressed with a fresh lemon taste. (Be sure there are the toasted almonds on the top when they set it in front of you. Last time I was there they were omitted.) The wedge salad is also delicious. I can also recommend the chicken piccata, the salmon and the barramundi in the life balance menu. But I have never had a bad dish there. Stop by the counter on the way out and delight in one of their chocolate truffles. Yum, yum.
Our server was awesome! It was the best service we have had yet at Coopershawk!
Excellent every time
I live and work in Wheeling and usually go to Coopers Hawk for appetizers and drinks in the bar (which is always good). This time, I took my 2 teens and wife for dinner. The salads were wilted / brown and when I told the waiter, the manager did not take them off the bill nor seem to care. The waiter gave me a couple of free dinner coupons (which I later saw were expired). It was a good attempt at a recovery but it is off putting to spend nearly $250 whereby a $7 salad wouldn't be taken off as it was not good. The food was edible but not exceptional and certainly not worth the price. Next time I will go to Flemings or one of the many fine restaurants around here. Bad experience. Maybe they are just too busy to care.
We had a wonderful time celebrating my son’s birthday. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. Our waitress was fabulous.
Food was great and so was the service!
The wine tasting was FUN. I picked up up my 4 bottles of wine and then had a GREAT dinner
Great food. Very energetic. People were fighting to get in here.
This was our first visit back to the wheeling location and the experience was wonderful. Our reservation was for 6:30pm for six. We got seated right away and was never rushed to place our order. The food and service was nothing less than outstanding. The value for what we ordered was in line for what we expected.i would definitely go back.
On our current visit we had our wine tasting and lunch. Brittany, our server, was friendly and professional. Very attentive to our needs as usual making it again a great dining experience. Also, our wine tasting was done by Nicole also very professional and efficient in her presentation. Thank you.
I’ve never been the guy to go back to the same restaurant over and over, but that may be changing. There isn’t a lot of time to go out, but CH keeps me coming back. I know what I’m getting and everything about the meal is top notch.
Great food and wine as always
Good food good service but very noisy
Mustafa was awesome. My sister had a great birthday. Food was delicious
Everything was perfect as usual. Very seldom do I ever have a unsatisfactory time.
The Malbec wine is delicious and so is the spicy shrimp appetizer.
I had dinner with four friends from out of town who had never heard of Cooper's Hawk. We all enjoyed the evening. The food was excellent and they had a wonderful time trying different wines. When they are back in the area they will certainly want to go to Cooper's Hawk again.
Late on a Sunday evening, the restaurant was comfortably active and the food was great. Service was a little slow but friendly.
Every plate coming out of the kitchen was attractive, and there were a lot things on the menu, worth coming back to try.
Birthday for mom was great!
We arrived at our reservation time and were seated immediately. I requested a booth on Open Table, and they accommodated that request without me bringing it up. Our waiter was very friendly and made himself available to us without hovering or checking in too often.
Overall good. A bit noisy in dining room. Lighting could of been dimmed. Bathroom was not very clean, toilet paper roll empty.
The food was exceptional. Everything our group ordered was well prepared and delicious. The service was great. Our server was very accommodating and attentive.
We celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary at Coopers Hawk. Everything was excellent.
We really like Coopers Hawk, and go frequently in Naples, Fl. This experience was a bit disappointing. It was VERY loud (too loud for my 93 ear old mother), and one of the appetizers, the calamari, was awful, and sent back. The Napa chicken salad and steak salad were excellent, as always.
Had a reservation and called ahead, told them we were running late. Arrived about 10 mins late and Waited 45 mins for table.
Perfect dinner & wine
Absolutely horrible experience and we will not be back. The noise level in the restaurant has always been pretty bad- they really need to rethink acoustics. We went for my sons birthday and three of us have Celiac. The waitress was unfriendly, had no clue about the dishes we had questions about and when our food was eventually brought out, it was all cold and had to be sent back.
We are certain that she did not order our meal gluten free as two of us got extremely sick about an hour after our dinner. Having celiac is serious and the staff should be trained to understand that.
Delivered beyond expectations. Food excellent compared to bars in general
Always a nice experience dining at Coppers Hawk, I can't wait until next month!
We love to go to Cooper's Hawk for dinner. The food & wine are outstanding as is the service.
We had a great time and learned a lot about our wine membership. Had great food and wine. It was fun.
Drank a bottle there and took our September offering home with us.
