Crabtree's Kittle House
cured scottish salmon belly, cornbread, sunnyside quail egg
Maine Lobster Bisque
Great restaurant and tasty food, the service was very good and we will definitely go back.
Well since everyone was scared of the carona virus
We had all the waiters waiting on us !! It’s was great!
Two of us shared oysters, and they were good.
The lobster bisque was good but had little lobster. It was too liquid.
We then had venaison (3 of us). No one got sick from it, so that was the positive note. It was just warm, relatively tough, and the sauce was totally mediocre, and did not in any way enhance the taste of the meat. I love venaison, so very disappointing. The chicken was ok, nothing to write home about. I thought the venaison was expensive. Two of us did not finish it, and left a pretty big piece.
The gratin was well cooked, but bland.
I had never been there for dinner, and do not plan to go back.
I have had brunch there, and that is what we planned, but there was a change in plan. Maybe brunch is better?
I eat fairly regularly at Crabtree's Kittle House and have never had any problems with food, service, ambiance, etc. My most recent two meals (one lunch, the other dinner) were simply delicious. The restaurant offers different dining rooms with different ambiance. The menu offers so many different dishes for any variety of dietary needs. The staff (from the desk, wait staff, bar staff) has always been consistantly kind and attentive. Just a terrific eating experience.
My husband got the strip steak.... with lots of onion crisps excellent! Cooked perfectly!
I got branzino fillet... wonderful!
Our guest had short ribs... portion way too small but very good. It should have been at the very least doubled.
Ordered Cesar salad that wasn’t on menu...they accommodated... delish.
Desserts very good.
This place is amazing. You are always treated like gold and the food is to die for. My favorite restaurant.
Excellent special dish: Cod over risotto with olives, artichoke hearts, pimento.
The Tap room is always warm and inviting!
I ordered the 3-course meal plus a side first course of foie gras. The red quinoa salad was too try and chewy - not impressed. The foie gras was excellent and it should be for $26.
The hanger steak rare was done perfectly but due to not best cut of beef, I did not manage to finish it. The dessert was cheese cake which is kinda dry but the citrus candy that was dabbled on top was excellent. Overall, it was good but a bit pricey for the quality.
Spectacular views and setting, tremendous staff, delicious and varied food choices.
If you seek the wonderful desserts and bread offerings of an outstanding pastry chef, and that's all you seek to imbibe, then make your reservation. However, we were disappointed in the core food offerings of this restaurant at our recent visit. The appetizers were mixed reviews - the artichoke and crab delicious while the burrata salad tasted like it came fresh out of the refrigerator - with the burrata very cold - unlike the room temperature it should be served at - and the salad not optimal because it was also frigid. When it came to main courses - the reviews were also very mixed - not acceptable for what should be an excellent restaurant. The trout was tasteless - and we had to send it back to the kitchen to exchange for an alternative - the veggie burger - just okay. The venison was delicious. The grilled tuna - I would rate just acceptable. The shrimp coconut dish - very good. I expect great food all round - wouldn't anyone?
CKH was pretty crowded last Friday but we enjoyed our lunch any way
We are a LONG time fan of the Kittle House having been regulars when our lives were more financially stable. But for a special occasion - no place better! It was my husband's birthday and this was his pick. Everything was lovely, the service impeccable and could have stayed and stayed all day. Only one little complaint - I booked and asked for a table by the fireplace - thus expecting it to be lit. Sadly - no fire so we moved to a table by the window. I think if someone requests sitting by the fire, light one! Even if its just one log for an hour or so.... Otherwise - nothing in the world would have me say a bad word about this fine establishment. I just wish we could afford to go more often.
We went for the Sunday Brunch. It was excellent. The variety of food offered was perfect. There were five carving stations - beef, lamb, ham, turkey and salmon - plus an extensive list of other breakfast and lunch items. The price also included the mimosas - something we didn't expect. Overall, a very nice outing on Valentine's Day weekend.
Very nice atmosphere and good food
I proposed this night and the staff at Crabtree made this night the most spectacular and sublime experience I could ever ask for. I was able to reserve the table in the wine cellar and the staff even helped coordinate a way for the proposal to still be a surprise! We arrived to roses and candles which made it a perfect romantic setting. The chefs tasting menu was delicious! The wine pairings couldn’t have been better! And we were even able to play our own music during dinner! We have loved this restaurant for a while but their ability to accommodate us on our special night truly shows how amazing this place is. Thank you so much!
Steven congratulations!!!! It was pretty exciting for us to be part of your special night -- so glad it went smoothly! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Crabtree’s Kittle House is one of our favorite restaurants. Whether it be a romantic dinner, for an occasion or a Sunday brunch, this is a go-to place. My wife and I went for Valentine’s Day. They had a price fix menu. There was an abundance of great food and we had a wonderful bottle of wine.
It's a pity because we have had very good meals here before (and after) Valentine's Day. Unfortunately, on 14 February 2020, with a Prix Fixe menu for the occasion (and we elected to enjoy the pairing as well), we were quite disappointed. The atmosphere was hectic and harried. The service was chaotic and inconsistent. The food was far below the standard usually produced by the kitchen, and the price was unduly inflated. I believe that this restaurant can offer far better than the experience that we had on Valentine's Day.
Waiter (s) were horrible . Unclear if they were understaffed and just pulled people from the street to help. It felt very cold
Food was ok
Would never go there on Valentines
Valentines Day reservation made months in advance. We were sat in a small room with a corporate lunch feel rather then a beautiful old Inn. Service was close to none. The waiter did not come back after entrée drop off to check on us until asking if we wanted dessert. The highlight of the meal was the lobster bisque. Other than the Bisque, the meal was underwhelming. I also can not understand the clients showing up for a fine dining experience in sweat shirts and sneakers. Please shut off your cell phones during dinner.
I was seated at 6:00 pm as the first couple in the room on Valentines Day. They squeezed a tiny table up against where the servers were behind me all 2 hours with the empty plates storage . I got bumped into about 50 times. My wife was in the inside so she was not impacted. I did mention it to the hostess, who barely listened. I’ve been there many times and this was not an enjoyable experience .
Lovely Valentines Day dinner!
Food was amazing and staff v professional.
Valentines Day limited menu 3 main courses to choose from one of which was vegetarian. fixed price $92 for mediocre food and mediocre dessert which was part of fixed menu. Decided to order from their War and Peace size wine list. For third straight time we have been there the wine we selected was no longer available. If you don't have the wine why do you still keep it on the list other than to brag about the size of the book. Final insult was waiting for 15 minutes in sub freezing temperatures for the 2 understaffed valet parkers to find cars and park new arrivals only to find out when our turn came that they could not find our keys and instead brought 2 other cars instead of ours. Meanwhile inside they had 4/5 women/girls standing around in the entrance greeting customers while departing customers had to wait in the cold because they did not have sufficient valet parkers. We have been to Crabtree's several times over the past years and each time the experience has been underwhelming.
Loves the music in the bar!
Thank you so much!
As always, Crabtree’s Kittlehouse surpassed my party’s expectations. The service was attentive and thoughtful, the ambiance as elegant as ever (even on a rainy, dreary winter day), and the food a culinary masterpiece. I had the most delectable Sandwich and Soup (a tantalizing mix of cheeses encased in parmesan and fontina encrusted brioche, with a delicately flavorful lobster bisque substitution), and am still savoring the culinary experience hours later. I must admit, I was a Kittlehouse bride — and it was exciting to see that the Kittlehouse provides as flawless a dining experience today as it did 20 years ago.
The house was lovely. But the tables were packed much too closely together and the service was poor. I had to chase down the waiter for coffee, milk, napkins. Getting refills of coffee with the same problem. Waiting staff was not attentive to what was going on around them. It was possibly due to the large number of people that they packed into the room. The food was okay, but nothing special. They took away the omelette section of the Sunday brunch before the Brunch actually ended. Some of our Party ate the meats first, and when they went back for The Omelette it was gone already. We had 1 p.m. Reservations. The brunch went to 3 p.m.
Food was amazing
Wait staff attentive
Gustavo as always made sure we ur experience was amazing
Service needs more attention. We dine here regularly, food is always delicious and we enjoy the energetic vibe of the taproom on a weekend evening. However, the service needs to improve.
Absolutely Loved our dinner at Crabtree's Kittle House. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere is lovely.
the food was wonderful but at least at lunch, service seemed to be an afterthought. I have been here a number of times before, but have never felt so ignored.
again, the food and presentation was great and i would consider returning for that. Excellent wine list!
Wait staff was outstanding.
Accommodated all of our needs
Thank you so much!
We enjoyed Sunday Brunch at the Kittle house the variety of foods were spectacular, the service was good and we weren’t rushed. I’d will definitely go back !
Many thanks! We look forward to seeing you again!
What a wonderful experience! Loved every minute of it - amazing food and impeccable service
Thank you so much!
First time at Kittle House was amazing experience. The service was the best thing. We celebrated our anniversary, I didn’t even know how they found out but they brought us a complementary dessert with Happy Anniversary from the house that was very very nice.
The Menu was OK. but they should run more specials because when we asked for the special they didn’t have any just the soup of the day and pasta of the day.
Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, he answered all our questions and he gave us some recommendations which we really appreciated it.
We cannot wait to go back to try different things we love this place.
Thank you so much for your kind words! Appreciate the feedback about specials - I will be sure to mention it to Chef. Happy Anniversary! We look forward to seeing you again!
The food, service, and overall experience were fantastic! We went there to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday and the staff made us all feel like we were special in so many ways. Highly recommend dining here!
Thank you so much Lou! We appreciate you thinking of us for such a special occasion!
Excellent food and service. Chicken dinner was amazing.
Thank you, much appreciated!
The food is always amazing! Everything is fresh and has a different taste. There was a large assortment to choose from. Everyone that worked there was very nice and happy! I try to go there as much as possible!
Hi Julie - thank you so much! We appreciate it and look forward to seeing you again!
My friend Jane and I enjoyed a lovely Sunday Brunch. The Kittle House offers a large array of brunch entrees, scrambled eggs, salmon, different types of salad, sweet breads, croissants, sausages and hash browns. We enjoyed Mimosa’s and desserts.
This is my favorite spot for lunch with friends. The dining room has wonderful natural light. I usually get one of their superb salads or bowls, and it is always delicious. They never rush us: My friends and I can linger over coffee as long as we want.
Many thanks! We appreciate your feedback, and look forward to seeing you again!
Two of us had the “Rachel” sandwich a Rubin made with smoked turkey. It makes my month water just thinking of it.
We go often to the Kittle House and it never disappoints.
Thank you Linda! It's one of our favorites too!
This establishment never fails to exceed my expectations. They are truly aware of their customer and it is worth the money spent. The food, service, ambiance and quality are all top-of-the-line.
Thank you so much - it was our pleasure to have you join us! I will be sure to share your kind words with our staff.
