It was our anniversary. I had flowers and presents delivered to Madrona. It was all waiting for us at the table. What a perfect surprise for my bride. Charles, the mater di, was outstanding, welcoming us to Madrona, taking us to our table and checking in to see that we were enjoying the experience. My bride was ecstatic and extremely happy. That’s all that mattered.

John Ash has been a staple in our family & friend’s visit to Santa Rosa. The restaurant is intimate, romantic, & timeless. The old-style half round booths on the entry level are old world style dining. The lighting & ambiance is warm with high ceilings. Very easy to have conversations without having to yell and not a noisy restaurant. On cold nights, you can still dine outdoors in the glass enclosed patio with warm heaters. Truly still an icon after many years. All the dishes are excellent, the lamb & short ribs superb.

My wife and I had an amazing experience from the moment we walked up to the front door. We were greeted by name, served a hot tea and watched the kitchen for a few minutes before being sat at our table, where the first course was there waiting for us. I was nervous about the service bested on others reviews, but we had an amazing experience. The pacing between courses was perfect. We never felt rushed, or forgotten about. The food was incredible. There wasn’t a single thing we didn’t love. The flavors, textures, and amount of food was simply amazing. We also did the tier one and tier 2 wine pairing which I highly recommend. Truly Ana amazing experience.

We had an outstanding server named Meghan, who made our entire dining experience very memorable. She was warm, friendly and had a great sense of humor. The food and ambiance was wonderful, but Meghan took things to a whole new level. We will definitely be coming back and hope Meghan will be there to greet us.

First time there and was truly impressed. Service was friendly and efficient, the menu was diverse to satisfy a variety of appetites and the ambience was comfortable and warm. Every plate we had was visually beautiful and extraordinarily tasty. The wine, cocktail and mocktail selection was ample. Will be back!
