    From the ambiance, to the service, and the amazing food, this was a wonderful spot for my mothers birthday celebration! Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and very friendly (I wish I could remember his name, but he was from Jamaica). The birthday cake I ordered in advance was phenomenal! We will certainly be back.

    Ambience and decor are lovely; noise level so low it was possible to carry on excellent conversation with quiet voices. Service was attentive and timely. Food was of mixed quality, with some dishes excellent (bolognese, lobster gnocchi) others not great (onion soup too beefy, accompaniments to foie gras-one too sweet other too salty, duck breast minimal flavor and needed copious pepper to improve taste). The amuse bouche soup was excellent, the small gratis sweets at end were appreciated. The restaurant has potential to be great but needs some customer feedback to get each dish “just right”. They charged for bread, which may be a European custom but one that doesn’t sit well with diners dropping $100+ per person. Bill did not have breakdown of costs which many customers appreciate

    Server wasn’t very detail oriented or described the menu well. Courses and dinner dragged out very long and time between courses very slow. Food was very good and well executed flavor profiles. Wine list is impressive and extensive, but there are great wines available under $100 you do not need a list where 95% is over $100 or more.

    The interior is very dark. The music was loud so people had to speak loudly. The wait staff acted in a pretentious and condescending manner. The menu was not special, and it had limited offerings. I had made it known at the time of making the reservation that one in my party was having a birthday. Nothing was done - no candle in her dessert - nothing. All in all I did not find it spectacular.

    Food was awesome, service was fair. The bartender was servicing our high top so when the bar got busy, he didn’t come back to our table. We had to flag him down to get more drinks

    Having had to cancel 2 prior reservations I was excited that my son and his girlfriend suggested taking my husband and I for my birthday. It didn’t disappoint! Our seating in front on a roaring fire on the first really cold night in Boston was perfect followed by a crystal cold martini and an awesome meal. A truly happy birthday!

    I love this restaurant (been at least 10 times) but I was really unimpressed with the plating of the food. It was just sloppy- notably the Long Island duck.

    Food, as always, is fantastic, and decor is comfortable and stunning, quiet and elegant. Over-priced even for an excellent fancy restaurant. Main gripe was the service: Our waitperson was gracious but seemingly distracted. Took 20 minutes after we ordered for the appetizer to arrive, then we waited 45 mins (after ordering) for the main course. As time went by, we made clear that we had a time limit, but that didn't help. Because of the remarkable slowness, we didn't have time for dessert. For a $200 meal (for 2), not having time for dessert is not acceptable. I've had many many wonderful meals here previously without this problem, so just be aware of the time when you go, and enjoy it.

    This restaurant has impeccable service, and outstanding food. The duck breast is to die for. Pork belly was both crispy and melt in your mouth. The atmosphere was quiet and felt very private. It’s very easy to spend a lot of money here, but worth every penny. It’s a very good way to impress a date.

    We have looked forward to Deuxave for a long time. We decided to celebrate our 37th anniversary here. The place is beautiful and the food delicious! Our server was absent, and dismissive. He was hardly busy and made himself clear that he had more important thing to do. He rushed every movement and was less than pleasant. The food was perfection and the rest of the staff was very friendly and professional. Given our service experience, there is unlikely a return for us. His tip was $70 and he didn’t deserve it. Too bad. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

    Honestly, it felt like a tourist trap. The person who would like this place best is someone who doesn't have a very sophisticated palette but wants to feel fancy dining at a place that appears to fancy and requires them to pay fancy-seeming prices. But it did not seem like a place for someone actually takes restaurants seriously and likes good food. For that, there are many other much better options in Boston. The "focaccia" was stale and hard as a rock, which got us off to a pretty bad start (focaccia quotes because it's a huge stretch to even get to call it focaccia). The agnolotti was so oily and oversalted that that's all you could taste -- there appeared visually to be vegetables lurking down in there, but who knows what they tasted like. The other food was fine, but no better than many other similar restaurants in Boston. The service was brusk and inattentive. The music was all tasteless Euro-trash "musak" smooth jazz, and way too loud. It was cold. The place smelled of onion-beef broth from the onion soup. All around failure of an evening.

    We started with the onion soup,foie gras and pork belly. All were excellent. Probably the best onion soup I've had in a number of years I would say the food gras holds its own with any I've had anywhere. For our mains I had the roast sliced duck breast which was outstanding very tender very moist crispy on the edges just perfect. Richard had the roast chicken which was outstanding he was afraid it was going to be dry it was moist and juicy and tender. As a side we did the duck fat fries, which were excellent had to bring a few of those home kind of a large meal tonight. Easily one of the best Boston meals we've had in the last couple of years.

    Food was excellent, and all of the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Massive wine list, a bit pricey, but it was as expected. The appetizer (Lobster Gnocchi Fricassee was amazing) The entree (seared prime NY strip steak) was cooked to perfection, and trimmed of the typical outer layer of fat, and void of any grizzle that sometimes appear in a NY strip steak. My wife and daughter ate dessert, and said it was sublime! My only complaint was that the fries were too salty for my taste (although I do have a low tolerance for salt). All in all - a fabulous meal, and I will definitely go back.

    The food, ambiance and the server herself were excellent but we sat down at 6:06 pm and did not receive our main course until after 8 pm. There was clearly some sort of mix up because at the point we we were about to ask what was happening, the manager actually came up to us and asked us if there was anything else we needed as if he was trying to rush us out of the table, thinking we had already finished and were holding up his table. We told him we needed our dinner! He then came back quickly and told us they were plating it and it would be out soon. Not sure what happened, but not representative of my prior experience at Deuxave.

    The food was generally good. The service was painfully slow and we actually very much like a slow paced dinner.

    It is our favorite place and the food was amazing even though the duck was too much and gelato disappointed… it was my Birthday and they didn’t sing to me but did to the older man at the next table so did feel left out, I do love celebrating once a year !

    Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about food and wine pairing. Pork belly and beet salad were the 2 beginning’s and Duck breast and Scallops were the mains. A shared crème brûlée finished off the meal. All delicious!
