Diorio's Restaurant and Bar
Absolutely great! Drinks, Apps, Main Course and Dessert! Great food, Great Value! Will be returning!
All the food was amazing
Nothing really wowed us besides the crab cakes. The rest of the food was somewhat bland, but solidly good. We would go back, but just not out of our way to get there.....
Best meal out ever!! Food was delicious service was very good
I returned to this restaurant after many years. Over-rated and over-priced!!!
After getting our salad and our appetizer, we had to ask for bread and was given
one roll each.....I mean really????
Ordered dessert. We had a piece of cheesecake and a piece of chocolate cake, which
was $24 for the two pieces!!!!!! Had I known how much that would be, I would've told them to keep it!!
NEVER will I return there!!
Basically everything was perfect, except in my opinion I believe the Caesar salad dressing had way too much anchovy which overpowered it.
The servers were not attentive at all. Bread was forgotten. Water glasses weren’t refilled. It was as though they were too busy to attend to tables.
Food just OK, nothing great, menu small, Brussels Sprouts disappointing. Salmon fair, Veal just ok... won’t be back for awhile....
Excellent food and service we will definitely go back for dinner , desserts were delicious and dinner was excellent
Really good food but I would prefer a booth in the bar to any other seating spot. Will request this next time.
Great atmosphere and excellent food. Service is good too. Would highly recommend it -
Food was fantastic. Service was excellent. Nice ambience
Definitely convenient for the area as there are not many like restaurants. I feel it may be a bit pricey but the service and accommodations for special requests and alterations to the menu made it worthwhile. I had the fillet cooked medium probably will ask M Rare next time only if you really like it that red.
Certainly will come back.
Courteous , friendly service; great ambiance .
The food is first rate...great ingredients, beautifully prepared.
The service was excellent as was the food. We will be going back soon.
My food was good but my business associates food was not so great; spinach was bitter, marsala sauce was not as expected; the waiter also forgot to bring my drink and when we reminded him he asked me what I ordered rather than checking his order for us.
The food was delicious and the service, spectacular. I would definitely go again soon.
Everything was excellent except being by the bar was rather noisy for part of the meal.
A classic. Great place to meet friend’s wonderful service. Food and drinks are top notch!
Over the past several years I’ve had dinner at Diorio’s and it was always good. However I had not been there recently until last month.I thought my meal was just okay. I had the beet salad which was good. I felt for the amount of money I paid for two people at this restaurant was not equivalent to the dinners we received. I recall this restaurant being much better than my last visit.
Loved the cod special with pomodoro and capellini; also the fabulous special salad with arugula. The waitress was so accommodating and explained the main menu and specials with great clarity, guiding us to our ultimate selections. She was attentive without being overbearing.
The food was delicious and just the right amount! There was not an impressive selection and there were no specials offered. We particularly liked the ambiance and the vibrancy. Our server was terrific.
Classic ambience, with dark wood paneling, pressed tin ceilings, an old fashioned bar. Italian food was excellent and the cocktails properly prepared. They had live piano music (it was a Saturday night). Service was attentive without being annoying. That is why we have our anniversary celebration at Diorio's every year.
hidden treasure in downtown Waterbury -- great décor, service and food - sorry that on a Saturday night it wasn't busier -- it is in a business district -- so hopefully they have more traffic during the week!
My husband and our friend had drinks at the bar until my friend and I arrived. The transfer to a table went smoothly. Drinks were offered. Specials were shared. One person in our party ordered a special and the other three of us ordered from the regular menu. A dessert was shared. Our server was attentive but not too involved. I like a server who is friendly but who doesn’t need to be reminded that we came out to spend time with each other, not with her. She was perfect.
Diorio's was synonymous with style and substance and our last visit was missing both. The server was nice but stylistically unprofessional and the food fair at best. I can say that I will not be bringing any more business associates there again. The Tuna was very tough and not seared; I don't mind raw in the middle but this was not how it should be prepared. The Steak also was not what we expect from Diorio's...tough and tasteless. I'm just hoping they had a bad night and the next time is better or it will probably be the last. Wish I could have raved in a good way.
The Wow was the kitchen prepared a dish not on the menu and it was a 10. We have never been disappointed the food is outstanding. The service was also great but it took some time to get our check.
Real Italian food, not "American" Italian food, carefully prepared and served. I'm a repeat customer.
Unfortunately, the evening started off with dry & unheated rolls being served. When I complained about the bread, all the server did was remove the bread basket permanently. I was expecting him replace our bread with some that had been warmed. A restaurant of the caliber they claim to be, should be serving an appetizing bread not stale rolls. Overall our food was fine but our service sketchy. Perhaps because it was a Monday night, the “B” might have been working. In any event, I don’t think it’s worth the price they’re charging, for the overall dining experience I endured. Loved the ambiance of the place!
Great spot for business lunch or dinners. Food is great.
Even if Waterbury had 20 more restaurants (not a bad idea), Diorio's would STILL be at the top of that longer list! While choices in Waterbury may be limited these days, you can never go wrong to "go back in time" to the comfortable, classic dining experience at Waterbury's still best dining experience at Diorio's! Excellent food offerings, all well prepared, well served, in an atmosphere that can bring you back to the "good old days". Super convenient municipal parking across the street.
Diorio's is a go-to for special occasions for us. We love the food and ambiance, and the service is always top-notch. The live music on Saturday evening was great during this birthday meal, and the dessert was fantastic as usual. Highly recommend!
We have been in the area for an open water swim meet the last 2 years. My daughter wanted to "carbo" load. We literally stumbled upon this place next to our hotel. Love the decor amd staff. The food hit the spot (as did my cocktail).
Another spectacular meal.
Service by Angela was spot on and attentive.
Everything was superb! From the food to the service to the ambiance. We had guests in from Canada and they were impressed with the entire experience.
I have been to this place many times and I NEVER had a bad meal and/or experience. I will continue going back as often as possible.
We waited over 2.5 hours to get our food. Other tables that came in after us got served first. The waitress came out after 2 hours to tell us that two entrees people in our party ordered were no longer available. We weren’t even offered apps to help curb our appetites. And when the entrees finally arrived, the beef was raw and some items were not on our plates. Horrible experience.
It was quite noisy when we first walked in, but once in a booth, the noise was not a problem. Service was great. The scallops with risotto was fantastic. My wife got some pasta that was a little more on the crunchy side than al dente, but the chicken parm on top of it was good.
Went for a college graduation.dinner. The main part of the restaurant is very cool , historical, we ate in a side room due to our large party. Not a neat!
