We enjoyed the ambiance of the outside seating area. We were there on a Saturday evening around 9pm and were disappointed to find toddlers running around screaming in the outside seating area. We were hoping for a better overall vibe, but the screaming competed too much with the music. The wine list could be improved - the by the glass wines are from the B-list, while the bottles are extremely expensive wines. Hostess were dismissive, but wait staff was great. I can't recommend it to friends until the wine list improves and the outdoor seating area is reserved for 21+ only.
Unfortunately I left it play but the service was absolutely a palling
Nice atmosphere. Signature drinks not very good though - compared to other craft cocktail places I've visited. Food pretty good and priced really well.
Made a reservation for 8 people. When I arrived I was told that because there was a last minute reservation for 12 people, we would have to take the table for 6 and “make it wok” by cramming 2 more chairs in. Ultimately we were told we could move to a bigger table near the front but only after those sitting there got up and left- they didn’t. After that, the service was extremely slow and I had to walk up to the hostess stand to get the bill.
Such a great ambience and vibe, and the cocktails were fabulous and the food super good!
We wanted to go somewhere nice since it was our last night in San Francisco. We wanted to sit in the patio but no tables were available. So, I asked the waiter and she got us a table in the patio. The place was super cozy and comfy. The the restaurant setting was beautiful and on top of that the fire place and the lighting made the atmosphere very delightful. The price of the food was very reasonable. We specially loved the chicken wings such was super crispy. It also tells us about the high quality of the food they serve. However, there was one minor inconvenience though. We had to ask for and wait quite a while before the servers even noticed us and checked on us. May be it was just one of those busy nights. This is something I think they should improve on. But, when we were being served, the waiters and servers were super nice and made us feel welcomed. Overall, it was a great place with good vibe and atmosphere.
Our server was horrible. We had to ask about our food and drinks several times.
Decent food but quite possibly the worst customer service that I have experienced at a restaurant in San Francisco.
Our bill came out to $115 and I handed our server my credit card but she returned it with a charge for $185 for me to sign. When I asked her why she added $70 to the bill, she told me that I wasn’t charged for it and that she accidentally gave me the additional bill for the table behind me.
However, the receipt clearly had the last 4 of my credit card on BOTH charges and both charges posted to my credit card but our server, Nataly, proceeded to argue with me even after I showed her the charges posted on my bank’s app.
She told me that the additional charge has been reversed and that I would only be charged the $115 from the original bill but she refused to provide me with a receipt of the charge reversal or my customer copy of the receipt. This $115 dinner came out to a total of $300 and not once did Nataly apologize or offer us anything to make up for her negligence.
I’m not sure if this is standard practice for them to over charge and hope that their customers won’t notice but I doubt that we’ll be back. I’ll give them until Monday to call me with an explanation or I’ll be disputing this with my credit card company.
Service was a little slow.
The dishes are pretty small and it makes the meal pretty expensive.
This is a nice spot, located near some sites and we had gone to SFMOMA so it's nearby and being the 5th floor of a hotel, it feels secluded and away from the horrors that are the streets of SOMA. The food was mostly good but not a lot of options and nothing seems to go together very well. We had the spiced nuts (fine), pork dumplings (tasty but not very hot), corn salad (weird flavors, vaguely perfume-like), ribeye (delicious), and for dessert we had the upside down angel cake and vanilla ice cream (the cake was ok but covered in a very sweet syrup I could have done without). There was just two of us and I like that I could try a lot of things and not be stuffed because the portions are pretty small but others might be left hungry. The service felt a little slow but once the area we were in filled up they did a fair job of filling water and removing plates. We were inside but they have an outside patio that is nice too. Other pluses: good drink menu and good wine list
I booked at Dirty Habit for a party of 11, for a special event. We were seated in the outside patio, which is very nice, with the music not too loud, perfect to be able to chat with the people at the table. The service and food were very good as well. I highly recommend!
Food portions and flavor not worth the price and the staff was not very attentive or friendly
Sophisticated atmosphere, great cocktails. The chicken wings were amazing as was the octopus.
Food was great... service was laughable
This is an undiscovered gem of a place to have a drink after work. In the grime and grit of Market Street, this is like an oasis of cool lifted a few floors off the street as if to separate you from the reality out on the street.
Food is good but pricey. Had expectations for a view but the outdoor rooftop is surrounded on all sides by an additional 4 stories so you are in a shady well. Service was ok. Very pleasant but seemed to be inside with bar costumers mostly? That said he was very pleasant but all food was delivered by the busboy.
Bring back the shishito peppers!
Great meal great food great dining little slow on the service side great cocktails great mix all a G
Delicious food and drink. The wait staff was a bit slow, but friendly. I would definitely go back. The halibut was probably one of the best ceviches I've ever had. And yeeeeees to the drinks!!
Super nice patio, very attentive and helpful service. Great ambiance outside for a date
The Gem salad was bland and not what we expected. A waiter brought the cheese plate and didn't explain the options (we had to call our real waiter back to explain. Other than that, it was good.
Over priced and the food is two thumbs down. Cool spot for drinks only!
Cocktails were great but everything else was pretty disappointing. Food was pretty subpar, bland and the portions were extremely small, especially the appetizers.
Food arrived 45 minutes after ordering and also all at once, appetizers and entrees together. Naturally things got cold before they could be eaten because all at once.
Also, despite reserving outdoor seating they refused to seat us outside on account of too many reservations. Sure enough we could see there were open seats outside our entire time there.
All around a pretty poor experience. A special occasion that wasn’t.
Outdoor seating was beautiful. Duck lollipop was dry and under seasoned
The cocktail drinks are great but would I dine here again? No, thank you. The happy hour menu items sound appetizing but the actual dishes are unpalatable.
With so many good choices in San Francisco, one would rather dine elsewhere and only, if a must, come here for drinks.
Group of girls out for dinner in San Fran for a friends bachelorette. Arrival was fine and drinks were good. Food came and several dishes were extremely salty. To the point that we could not eat them. Sent them back and our server, Anthony, did not know how to deal with this appropriately. He started to ignore our table and all interactions after we’re horrible. Would never recommend this place. If I could give it zero stars, I would. Then to top it off because we were a large group they automatically charge 20% gratuity even though 0% was deserved. We left and went to another restaurant because half of us were starving.
This is not a cheap place to grab drinks or eat. For the price, the service should be much better! They served our drinks to the table next to us. We saw this happen, we saw the server take it back to the bar, and we were served that same drink already poured from when they served it to the wrong table! That's not ok. This happened with our food as well. We had to catch them every time to let them know that was our order. Then, they would clear our plates when we still had food left on them. Not ok!
Also, gratuity was automatically included, yet there was no notice of this automatic payment. I would assume because they know their service is terrible and un-deserving of a tip. Their drinks were delicious, but I would not go here again just based off the poor service.
Would have been better if we would have known you need to request outside seating in advance. Food was good. Service was good. Just thought it should have been disclosed when we booked our table.
I like Dirty Habit for its ambience and cocktails. I like the chicken wings, the rest of the food is average. I would also recommend Shishito peppers. I like the Patio but it is often closed for private events. Check with staff. The wait staff is not as attentive as you would expect at a restaurant/bar like this, but I don't mind calling for attention when needed. Overall, a nice place for a date or meeting up a friend.
Underwhelming food and drinks for the price point.
I loved the outdoor space especially in Downtown San Francisco
Excellent food. Whiskey cocktails were outstanding. I had ordered a crab taco which was to die for!! My daughter had taken a prawn dish was beautifully served and a dessert which as per her was mouth watering.
Wine is too expensive esp by glass- don’t bother ordering it. Overall, an outstanding dining experience albeit on the expensive side.
Great time. Sat outside and loved it.
Solid food, Feiring pricing for downtown SF, but ruined by really bad service. Just thoughtless
The drinks are fine. We asked the server for a recommendation for a third small plate to add to the mushroom dumplings and squid with black hummus. Per her recommendation, we ordered the prawns. Two prawns should not cost $18. It's a pretty space, but there are better options in downtown SF.
Made a reservation to enjoy a drink n bite outdoors with nice weather, but sat us inside a dark empty room with tables. Asked to be moved, they said they were busy, with 5 tables open. Left after 1 beer.
This place is down hill. We were one of 3 tables there. I was embarrassed for booking it. Service was horrid and the took a late night reservation and didn’t tell us we had 45 min to order everything. Horrid.
Dirty Habit is conveniently located at 4th & Market, yet tucked away from the hustle and bustle. We enjoyed our cocktails and food on the patio. Angel, our server, was helpful & pleasant. We'll definitely come back.
