Friday night was my fourth visit, I brought some friends to discover what Divino has to offer. They absolutely loved it. We will all come back.
Thank you for your delicious food, drinks and very friendly welcome.
I will recommend anyone to try this place. Just absolutely amazing every time!
This was our first time here and we enjoyed our meal. My wife had the Fettucine with Pesto sauce. Very flavorful with fresh basil used. Also, her mint Mohito cocktail used real mint leaves. I had the duck as my main and for dessert, the Pana Cota, smooth and satisfying. The bread was homemade and glutten free, fluffy on the inside and a nice crust on the outside, with dipping oil and balsamic vinegar.
Great experience, amazing staff, service and then the food!!!! We’ll be back over and over.
We enjoyed the 3-course blind meal for $39. What a fun and exciting experience! All our food was exquisite, with a creative twist and a beautiful presentation. Our server, Filippo paired each course with an excellent wine which added to the overall experience. He was very informed, friendly and very personable. The entire evening was an awesome experience. We won’t hesitate to return again, and to share our experience with friends and family.
The food was imaginative and fun to discover. Our server enjoys matching wines and we had a great tme with her, sampling all kinds of wine-food combinations. The wine list itself is worth the trip.
I would highly recommend this restaurant. Fabulous food, atmosphere and knowledgeable staff.
Amazing dinner !
Went for a birthday. Great service and the food was fantastic. Had the trout. One of the best ever. Highly recommend!!
Creative, take your time and enjoy it all.
Great food great service great people! Wonderful dining experience open for letting you try things they are making for others and no additional charge. Staff very personable.
We were in Ottawa to deliver our Daughter to University. Following a busy day of site seeing & move in preparation we treated ourselves to a wonderful night out at Devino. We were fortunate to get a last minute reservation so I would recommend booking in advance. Eric the owner & his entire staff treated us to a wonderful dining & wining experience. One of our Daugters is Celiac & there were many delicious gluten free options. Can’t wait to visit again.
Authentic Italian food, superb wines and outstanding service.
My friend and I wanted to go to some place different. We also enjoy wine so we thought a wine bar would be good. The wine we had was very good and one we wouldn’t get at our local LCBO. There wasn’t a huge selection of wine which I guess is a misconception of mine. I think a wine bar only needs to have a good selection of good, unique wines. My only request would be to include Malbec wines as well. The food was outstanding. The service was so different than anything I have ever experienced. It was as though the server was a family member explaining things to me rather than a wait staff who simply takes the order. The kitchen was right in front of us. We chatted with the chef as he created! Amazing! I will definitely go back. Oh ya, I forgot to mention, the restaurant is owned and operated by a sommelier! What a great guy!
Great spot for finer dining in Little Italy. Food is great, ambiance is awesome, overall super great spot in Ottawa! Portions are on the smaller side.
Excellent four course meal and ok wine pairing. Because it was later on in the evening when we finished our first 3 courses, the server picked out a dessert for us. Not sure if that was all that was left, but it did seem kind of odd. We would like to have made our own choice. That being said, the dessert was ok anyways.
Amazing food and service. A real gem an already restaurant filled Preston street.
A fantastic meal was provided for a reconnect with friends.
Lovely bistro with friendly and extremely knowledgeable service! Delicious and beautifully presented. Accommodated vegetarian requests too! Great spot for a romantic dinner date.
Lovely family evening - service made us feel special. Food extremely interesting and very fun - hard to choose from so many great options. Half of us opted for the Tasting Menu - great value. Wine list is not mainstream and extremely well chosen. Hip ambiance, open kitchen, owner came to speak with everyone in the restaurant. Would definitely go again. Was a special evening as it was meant to be.
I will definitely be back. The food and service was amazing. Thanks for a great evening
We had a great meal, and DiVino is very catering, and knowledgeable in their menu and wine, the owner was very friendly and personable, and the servers were fantastic, all around we really enjoyed our meal and had a great time.
Cheers Chris and Steph
We’ve recently moved in the Little Italy area and we are exploring restaurants in the neighbourhood. We went out with friends who enjoy good food and good wine. Selected DiVino based on online reviews and we were not disappointed. Although the evening started with an unmemorable serving of ordinary bread and olive oil, we were very happy with the rest of our selections. Every dish was very tasty and presented with care. The waitstaff did a great job explaining the ingredients in the dishes and with their recommandation of pairing wines. We opted not to go for the Table d’Hote but it was inviting and very reasonably priced. We don’t go back to restaurants very easily because we want to try new things but this might be an exception.
Amazing service and unbelievable meal. 3 course dinner for 39$ can’t get better. Went for date night and left so full! Recommend to everyone for a nice treat yourself day.
Outstanding restaurant with an amazing atmosphere, shane and eric made the experience that much better, will most certainly be back soon
Small portions, mains were very small and not much to them ( we had duck and whitefish). The pasta was excellent!
The server was friendly, but very pushy. We have never had a server sit down at our table and tell us what we are ordering. Actually sit at our table!
The bar area looked nice.
Delicious prix fixe menu with excellent wine pairings. Highly recommend the Gorgonzola gnocchi. Service was friendly but slow (well beyond a reasonable time for pacing courses).
Great wine and food pairing experience, the chef is excellent and took the time to explain all his servings.
The service was outstanding. Eric had remembered the dishes that we liked and made sure the food was available. The dinner was prepared perfectly and the wine that Eric recommended was excellent. We will definitely be back
This was a special dinner for my wife's birthday. It was everything we could have hoped for. From Eric's welcome as we entered the restaurant, Erin's non-intrusive attention to our culinary needs, through Ryan's passion for good, tasty food, we felt pampered and important. We shared two appetizers (scamorza and crudo), two pastas (gnocchi and carbonara), and two mains (porchetta and rabbit). All portions were creatively designed and presented, with wonderful flavours and textures, paired with Eric's excellent wine recommendation for each dish. The diners beside us ordered 1/2 portions, and had all of the appetizers and three of the six pasta offerings, so flexibility is very possible. We sat at the chef's table, overlooking the open kitchen - a good recommendation from a friend. We'll definitely return.
Always amazing food wine and service.
Service was slow - it was a long time before we were given anything to eat, even bread. The main course was served about 2 hours after we sat down. Two of the four dishes were not better than ordinary. The other two (the duck and the rack of lamb) were good. The wine was very good, suggestion of the owner/sommelier. Service was friendly, but cannot make up for the long wait. The cheese tray served after dinner was uninspired (to be charitable), both in content and in presentation. No bread or crackers were offered with the cheese tray - we had to ask for something to eat the cheese with, especially given that some of the cheeses were soft.
My wife and I were in Ottawa and found DiVino's restaurant. What good luck for us.
This is a charming restaurant, with wonderful choices that are obviously a labour of love. I recommend the deep fried, meat stuffed olives, and the seared duck breast I had was quite good. The wine selection is largely Italian, with some good choices ranging from affordable $70 to the $200 range. There is a good selection of by-the-glass wines, and not just the usual. My dessert was a very nice cheese plate.
We had a chance to talk with the owner, Eric, and Shane who guided us through the menu.
I was truly surprised and very pleased with this restaurant, which could hold its own in foody cities such as San Francisco.
This is a great place to eat.
Great food and wonderful service. The owner walked us through the menu and helped us pair our wines with our meal and the chef also stopped by to check in and see how we liked it. We just got back from an italian vacation last month and this meal exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend!
Eric and his staff were fantastic. It was our first time but definitely won’t be our last! Thanks for a memorable dining experience!! Cheers
Great balance between innovative and traditional flavours in their unique take on Italian food. Service was perfect. The owners of this cozy restaurant were present and engaging. Best dining experience we have had in a long while.
Every visit to DVWS is a pleasure for the senses. The cuisine is creative and delicious, the wine selection is on point, and the service is attentive. You always feel like you are getting a personalized dining experience.
As always. Eric Betty Ryan. Dan. Thank you for the experience. The food and then amazing atmosphere. You always out do yourselves
My wife and I had a great evening here and the food was amazing and the staff very informative and friendly
