Dos Caminos – Meatpacking
It has really gone downhill. Which is so sad to see. The place is run down. The food was ok but not great. The guacamole is not made in front of you anymore. The whole place needs to be upgraded or it will close very soon.
Birthday, server hardly noticed us and we had to flag down several times.
The waiter was very accommodating - when we could get his attention. The salmon I ordered was dry - I asked for rare/medium rare and was told it would be medium and that other customers love it. Two members of our party ordered short ribs mole and liked their meals. No one else complained, so I guess they liked their meals, too. Fortunately, the family with a screaming child left by the time we placed orders for our entree’s.
Food was great, but service was absolutely horrid. Took 30 minutes just for an appetizer to come out, and even longer for our meals. What was supposed to be a quick lunch turned into a two hour lunch and I was late for something else planned.
The dinner was fine, albeit expensive for what it was which was nothing special.
Best place to relax, enjoy the drinks and the music
Rude and ignorant staff no matter who we engaged with. A revolting environment.
Always a great pick for lunch and/or dinner. Delicious! You must get the guacamole!
The room was freezing we had a great waiter who slowly turned up the heat. The food quality was poor the chicken seriously dry and revolting. Most of the plates were full when we left. Not returning
My waiter Diego was the absolute best.
Always a favorite place. Outstanding food and great service. The meatpacking location is great for lots of other entertainment before and after dinner.
Waitress was very slow and scattered
Food was okay
Waiter was rude and overall bad
Overall we always love Dos Caminos, but we never have been to this location. This location wasn’t my favorite. The service was quite horrible. Our waiter was over to our table only 3 times for the whole experience and that last time was to give us our check after asking another server to get us that check. We had to grab the hostess to even fill our water. The food was great as always so I can’t complain about that. However, the restaurant turned very dark after a while and we couldn’t even see our food.
We have been eating at Dos Caminos for many years and have been to all their location. This visit at the meatpacking location was very disappointing. We went there late (around 10:30 pm) and were seated upstairs which was pretty empty. We did not order much but whatever we ordered guac, quesadillas, fajitas - the food quality and taste was very mediocre and also very over priced. We have always enjoyed their food in the past but its not the same as before.
Absolutely AMAZING!!! It is one thing to have great drinks, delicious food, cool vibe, but to have a server who takes their time to explain the menu, cracks a few jokes is what makes this place fantastic. If you want to eat your way through NYC than this is place is a MUST!
Very nice food and drinks.
Bad service, the staff not friendly, don’t care about the costumer. The restaurant Isn’t a good for special Ocasión.
This is one of our go to’s. Squeezed a table of 5 into a table of 4 despite having a reservation. Drinks took an inordinate amount of time with a beer glass served with a 1.5 inch head. Food was cold, server was somewhat curt. Side came out well after meal and was ice cold. We love dos caminos but this was a sad bad experience. Will give it another try sometime
Dinner for former employees.
Always a fun time. Yummy Margaritas. Server was wonderful and very attentive.
Visitor form oot
Food was disappointing overall, quality has dropped off......service was very slow with relation to the size of the crowd. Would not go back other than for a drink
Nice location- food good not cheapest but paying for area I guess
My husband and I frequent Dos Caminos fairly regularly. The wait and host staff know us and appreciate our generosity. When we stopped by for another Sunday brunch, there appeared to be plenty of outdoor seating available even though it was a beautiful day. We had noted on our reservation that we’d like a table outside.
When we checked in, we asked if our table was ready for us outside. The hostess informed us that if we wanted a good table that we had to join their club. In other words, even though we are loyal customers, we would have to pay a club fee to earn their loyalty. I had mentioned that we come all the time. She acknowledged recognizing us but if we weren’t part of the club we’ll have to wait.
We ended up eating inside. Ironically the first thing out of our server’s mouth was a solicitation to join their club. The pitch went on for 10 minutes before we could even order.
We enjoy the food and the staff. Too bad Dos Caminos has no appreciation for their loyal patrons unless they agree to join their stupid club.
Dos Caminos needs to focus on the food and the patrons and spare their diners the sales pitch.
I have always loved this restaurant and I had not been for a while. It was good to be back! Thank you for your amazing guac!!
I did not have a great experience. Our waiter was very nice but too busy to really take good care of us. The cocktails were good. The food was very salty. The worst part was the cleaniness. The bathroom was dirty and smelled. There was an old dirty broom with a duskpan sitting in the corner.
Brunch was great. Adam, the manager, enhanced the weekend experience - very professional and efficient!
Went out to enjoy some girl time and have good conversations while enjoying the food! Amazing experience and the service was awesome! One of mu favorite restaurants of all time!
Never disappoints! Great food and drinks. Amazing staff. Overall great experience!
just awful service all around, the wait staff could not care less about you
We came from bottomless brunch and the service was very slow.
Great indoors OR outside in good weather! Outstanding service /mgt, creative yet familiar cuisine and very tasty bar choices! Perfect for a celebration or a date night. Try the jalapeño margarita for an icy, spicy spark! Wowie for dessert options too..😍
Not your typical Mexican menu. They have a nice variety of options, including multiple guacamole recipes. The service is good and the portions are generous. Noise level is a bit too high for conversation. It’s mainly the music playing. Could be a little lower to allow for conversation without raising your voice. Overall, though, a spot I’d recommend.
Fun venue for Sunday brunch w/larger group. Highly recommend their guacamole, Costillas con Maiz (braised pork ribs w/to-die-for corn pudding), Oaxacan Shrimp Quesadilla, & Mexican Key Lime Tart. Bottomless drink option w/selection of Bloody Mary’s, regular and their delicious signature Prickly Pear Margaritas (both frozen) and Mimosas? We’ll be back!
We always dined at the Times Sq. location. The Meatpacking location is just as good and much quieter. It's great to now there is consistent quality and great dishes between the two locations. A definite stop at the end of the High Line.
Food was great and found the serving sizes to be pretty large! Prices were also affordable considering the location. Overall experience was great however the AC was not working the day I went and it was very humid and uncomfortable inside, which made for only 3 stars.. would deff return though!
Good was great as were the cocktails. Never disappoints here.
Food & service are pretty bad. Great location, though!
The server was confused, did not explain the menu accurately, and therefore got our order wrong. Jittery guy.
Atmosphere was not very NYC.
