Duneland Beach Inn
1st visit. I would go back. Thank you. Hidden gem. Nice fire.
We always enjoy a meal at Duneland Beach Inn, small warmly decorated, good solid food. Such a comfortable warm environment. Can't wait for the weather to become warm and we can enjoy the beautiful outside area.
Celebrating Christmas with family in this lovely house decorated tastefully for the holidays. Food was very good, but was quite a wait and came out cold. Very disappointed, but still love the ambiance!
Again, outstanding hosts, food and service. Kay and Bill both visited our table to see how our meal was. Nathan and Shel did a great job serving our table, from food service to the perfect selection of wine. All-a-round, a GREAT evening at the Inn.
Thank you for a beautiful Holiday experience.
I was just there for the Thanksgiving menu. Turkey was the only item except for a cauliflower bowl so VERY limited. I want to go and try their regular menu where you have multiple choices.
Came for Sunday brunch. Excellent. Unfortunately we were the only people in the dining room. I know it's off season but locals and weekenders should some support. Would hate to see it "close for the season."
Delicious food in a quiet atmosphere with attentive staff.
This was a wonderful dining experience, service was great and the food was superb.
We had some friends visiting and I wanted to take them to DBI because it is ALWAYS good! The atmosphere is so inviting. We had a drink in the bar which we love because it is intimate and everyone talks to each other. The food was outstanding and the Halloween theme “The Shining” was really fun. The staff dressed up and they even had a drink called “Redrum”! I Most importantly our friends loved it! Highly reccommend!!!
Thank you for the kind words we all strive to provide 200 percent to all our patron family. Glad you enjoyed the Shining theme! worked really hard on that! Looking forward to seeing you all againn soon! Sincerly, Chelle(your mixologist and party planner)
Excellent food, ambience and service. Always enjoy this restaurant!
Through cold, heavy rain, and high winds, we made our way to the Inn for a dinner that was planned in advance and every minute and every bite was worth the trip. Lovely dinner, beautiful dining room. lovely fireplace. Enjoyed every moment.
This is truly a hidden gem...While I didn't stay in the Inn, I was shown comfy rooms for future.
The dining was superb and since it was a chilly night we snuggled right up to the fireplace. A dining feature was $26 for prix fixe for 2! And a lovely setting to boot! Intriguing wine list with separate bar and dining topped off the experience. Quiet spot but energetic in presentations and customer service. Will definitely return when in the area.
Everything was 5 star except for the main course, which was very average, at best. We will try it again but chose the main course carefully.
Please feel free to call and let us know what was unsaisfactory about your visit. We would love to prepare another dish to your liking- our staff always want you to leave with the best experience and your meal is top priority also! Ask for Chelle
Nice Sunday dinner with family. Atmosphere was quiet, relaxed and comfortable. Like being at a family dinner table. Server was on top of things and took nice care of us without overreaching.
Food was superb with nice touches. And yes, there fried chicken is fantastic - recommended.
Great serve and food, special complements to chef and owner, she works very hard.
We are looking forward to returning to Duneland beach in for dinner. It was superb!
Have been dining at DBI for many years. This recent visit was encouraging as both the food quality and service had appeared to be declining. Glad to find that things were much improved. Will definitely be back.
I am very disappointed in DBI. We were given a gift certificate, and it had expired by four months by the time we had the opportunity to use it, so the DBI refused to honor it. They said it was, “Just a little too old.” What does that mean? A year or so ago, we were gifted with a DBI gift certificate, which again expired by the time we were able to use it, but when I called DBI at the time, they said it was not a problem at all, they would gladly honor it. I would very much like to know why they changed their policy and refused to honor it this time, but I have left messages and have yet to get anyone to return my call.
Over the years, we have had family and friends as our guests for dinners at DBI, but if this is their idea of customer relations, we have had our last dinner there. Unfortunately, what should have been a lovely evening became a very frustrating experience.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. One of my favorites in the area.
The Inn was immaculate, the food had a great presentation and was delicious. The service was wonderful. A beautiful hide away.
It through us off where it was located because of the name we thought it was on the beach but it is such a beautiful place. The price shocked me until we saw the portion size and tasted it, it was well worth the price. The atmosphere and food was perfect for our 26th Anniversary night out.
A wonderful neighborhood gem. Food was delicious and service felt like you were visiting long lost friends.
Always an outstanding experience and great food! Been coming here for over 30 years and do not plan to stop!
Fabulous, just the best! Sat outside on that beautiful patio, food was great....service as well.
Staff are well trained and most friendly. Very attentive to dining needs. Wonderful experience!
Waited 90 minutes for our food to be served. The entire restaurant was angry waiting for their food.
Excellent setting near Lake Michigan. Limited but creative menu. Cocktail list is extensive but can be very expensive. Service is very mixed.
Our waiter Seth was super nice and polite and efficient. Ambiance was terrific!
We cannot wait to go back!
Excellent wine, food , service and value. The Thursday night 2 meals for $26 is a fabulous deal! We’ll go back next Thursday. The chicken piccata was cooked perfectly. DBI is my favorite restaurant in this neck of the woods! Had a nice chat with the charming owner.
This is the second time that I dined here in a month. Both times bringing out of town guests because of its ambience, charm and good food. The value of the meal was great.
Both times the service was sub-par - friendly but the slow service, lack of experience of when to bring drinks and handle the courses and inattention to detail that makes fine dining a pleasure. Both times we had to remind the servers to bring drinks and both times I had requested tea at the end of the meal and it was forgotten. Both times the food was warm and not hot. Both times we were there for 2 hours, it was getting dark and ideally we wanted to leave before it got dark. Both times there were problems with the service - the first time due to lack of staff and second time the server assigned to our area was trained at the bar. Both times the restaurant was not full.
This is a lovely spot not to be missed but if service is not improved I fear that it will have a negative impact. It is a hidden gem but needs to be polished to fully shine.
Excellent! Will definitely return. Food was great, service.
A very pleasant surprise in all regards. From entrance we were warmly greeted, Carla, I believe was her name. She showed us table options and was very friendly. Server was friendly and checked in as needed. The food was quite good and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience--a hidden gem.
Our first dinner dining experience was fantastic! The service was exceptional from the moment we walked through the door. The food was awesome! We highly recommend the carb-free soup even if you're not a diabetic. The Sassy Shrimp had the right mix of heat and sweet. The filet mignon was good--cooked slightly more than we like as medium rare but still tasty. Next time we will tell them how much pink we want inside. Oh, and the dessert!! A must have is the Double Strawberry Shortcake. We will definitely be back.
Prime rib was terribly over cooked. And tough.
Service although nice was very slow and error prone
Very nice people but bad food and poor service.
Service was the major issue - as out of town visitors it seemed that we were not a priority. reservation was handled badly. Server did not seem experienced - we had to tell here what the sides were.
3 of the guests ordered the prime rib and it was good. I ordered the special mahi mahi and it came barely warm as well as the sides. Couldn’t find our waitress but found another lady that took it back to the kitchen where I am sure was nuked and it came back dry but warmer. Did not like the cauliflower rice side. The bread looked good but was stale. Took forever to get our drinks.
Awesome food and great service
Nice Father's Day Brunch. There was a nearby table which had a loud talker, who was annoying, but it wasn't the restaurant's fault. We enjoyed the good food.
Second time we visited Duneland Beach Inn for dinner with family. We had a great time, staff is very attentive and informative. Several of us had the perch which was excellent. My husband was disappointed in the cole slaw as it didn't taste homemade. The crab cakes were excellent. The atmosphere is well appointed and nice for an intimate setting. Would visit again.
We enjoyed a great meal outdoors at Duneland Beschloss. Each course was terrific. The outdoor surroundings are special on a summer night. Highly recommended!
