Duneland Beach Inn
Our first dinner dining experience was fantastic! The service was exceptional from the moment we walked through the door. The food was awesome! We highly recommend the carb-free soup even if you're not a diabetic. The Sassy Shrimp had the right mix of heat and sweet. The filet mignon was good--cooked slightly more than we like as medium rare but still tasty. Next time we will tell them how much pink we want inside. Oh, and the dessert!! A must have is the Double Strawberry Shortcake. We will definitely be back.
Prime rib was terribly over cooked. And tough.
Service although nice was very slow and error prone
Very nice people but bad food and poor service.
Service was the major issue - as out of town visitors it seemed that we were not a priority. reservation was handled badly. Server did not seem experienced - we had to tell here what the sides were.
3 of the guests ordered the prime rib and it was good. I ordered the special mahi mahi and it came barely warm as well as the sides. Couldn’t find our waitress but found another lady that took it back to the kitchen where I am sure was nuked and it came back dry but warmer. Did not like the cauliflower rice side. The bread looked good but was stale. Took forever to get our drinks.
Awesome food and great service
Nice Father's Day Brunch. There was a nearby table which had a loud talker, who was annoying, but it wasn't the restaurant's fault. We enjoyed the good food.
Second time we visited Duneland Beach Inn for dinner with family. We had a great time, staff is very attentive and informative. Several of us had the perch which was excellent. My husband was disappointed in the cole slaw as it didn't taste homemade. The crab cakes were excellent. The atmosphere is well appointed and nice for an intimate setting. Would visit again.
We enjoyed a great meal outdoors at Duneland Beschloss. Each course was terrific. The outdoor surroundings are special on a summer night. Highly recommended!
Food was ok but a bit pricey for quality and ambience
Every time I visit this restaurant, it supersedes previous service and food quality. Corey provided great service.
Gem of the town.
Quaint dining room that makes you feel allows for comfortable conversation. Exercisem
Family get together
Always enjoy our dinners there. Came here on our first anniversary 32 years ago and we love it even more now! Keep up the stellar job!
The restaurant is in a lovely area close to Lake Michigan, although a little out of the way. There was a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere in the dining room, great for quiet conversation. We both ordered seafood dishes and appetizer, everything we were served was excellent. The wine list is not extensive but the by-the-glass options that we had were excellent. Nice place for a romantic get-away.
It was a perfect evening. The food and the service were excellent.
I am a resident of Duneland Beach. We had the Mother's Day brunch joined by one of our daughters. I have had good and bad experiences in the past and I am not a frequent patron at the restaurant. But, this experience was exceptionally good. Great food, and all other aspects rate five stars.
We had a very pleasant Mothers' Day lunch. The food was excellent, service friendly and timely, and the ambiance was great. We go to the Duneland Beach Inn several times a year for dinner and always find it to be a pleasant experience.
Staff was very friendly and made brunch fun. It was a good meal and the atmosphere is relaxing and casual. Loved the scones and corn bread!
Service was very slow even though the restaurant was not busy. At 6pm they were already out of 1 of the specials. Server did give us a free round of drinks because our order was taking so long. He said the kitchen was backed up which did not make any sense. I like this restaurant but I hope the service improves.
Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere, servers are very attentive and polite, great food, nice wine selection. Kay was very friendly and caring, would highly recommend.
First time there in a few years. Don't know why we forget this restaurant. We saw a advertisement in the Beacher and said "we have to go there." The 2 for 26 was definitely a draw for us as we are locals and. not accustomed to expensive entrees other than Heston Bar which only visit on special occasions. Duneland Inn is a sleeper in the Michigan City/New Buffalo areas. YOU NEED TO TRY IT!
We throughly enjoyed a peaceful Anniversary dinner, food and service was spot on. Have not dined here for years, indeed s nice improvement...will return soon.
Best in class, great atmosphere, service and food one of kind.
Special for two people for $26 is “ steal”. The honest answer is, we felt guilty ordering dinner for two with salad and dessert for only $26 at neighborhood gem, where food and service is out of the box. The best restaurant in town.
Have not been to DBI for about three years. We enjoyed everything very much. The only complaint we have is the prices of the cocktails. Way over priced. We will be back for sure, but will drink elsewhere..my cosmo was sixteen dollars, crazy.
Took my parents there for Easter Brunch. Wait staff was friendly and polite, but veeerrry slooooow. Drinks were overpriced ($10 for a mimosa with an ounce or two of not top rate champagne?!) and food was also not up to the prices charged. My mom enjoyed her prime rib though, and that’s all that counts.
Excellent food, service and ambience. The Bloody Mary and Mimosa Bars complemented the food.
We had a wonderful Easter brunch. We go to the Inn every month or so but this was our first time for a holiday. The menu included some regular items plus brunch specials and drinks. The bloody mary and mimosa bars were amazing.
We dine here often and love the atmosphere and the food. The service is always a little slow but Friday night it was terrible. There were only 4 other tables besides us and we barely saw our waiter. We were there 2 hours for dinner. Our waiter seemed like he didn’t want to be there and he would forget stuff. Our drinks were empty most of the time. The stretches of time between when we saw him were way too long. Very disappointing
Great food friendly staff
We were the only ones in the restaurant, and it still took quite a while to get our food which was a very simple rice cauliflower and seafood on tray. The shrimp and crab were ok, but the scallops were chewy and not very edible.
We are regular customers and we noticed that our service was a little slower than usual. We were not in a hurry, but there were long periods of time, before we received service and in between servings. Nor were we offered desert.
I absolutely love this place, everybody was so nice and friendly! Waitress was amazing, he took care of a party of 13 with no assistance! Great job Shaq!!!
The dining room was cute. The food was good . Though the dining room did not appear to be full, it was a long wait for first course. We asked for more rolls 3 times but never got them .
Even though they were unexpectedly short-staffed on Valentine’s, the night was flawless. Seated, served, and enjoyed an excellent Beef Wellington, very very good Filets, and interesting and delicious baked deviled egg appetizer. Fireplace was blazing, they had a good crowd but noise level was soft. The entire staff did double duty to perfection.
We had a fabulous dinner!!
Went for Valentine’s Day. It’s a warm, cozy dining experience. We sat next to the fireplace. The service is excellent, the wait staff is very attentive. I had Lobster ravioli, it was good, but I have had better. My husband had Lake Perch and said it was great. If you decide to have a drink after dinner go sit in the bar. It’s got a great vibe. Comfy chairs, mood lighting and yummy drinks. This is one of our favorite places.
This restaurant provide great food and unmatched atmosphere and service. Simply the best restaurant in town.
This is a hidden gem. It is located at a bed and breakfast, Duneland Inn. We had a shrimp appetizer which was fantastic. And the homemade onion soup was perfect with the amount of cheese and onions and croutons. I chose a seafood and veggie combo bowl. It with with riced cauliflower and had scallops, shrimp and crab. The taste was excellent with nice lightly crisp vegetables included. My friend had salmon and veggies as it normally comes with a starch. The salmon had very good taste. She ordered it medium and it came medium well if not well in the thinner parts of the filet. For dessert we had a brownie and ice cream mix which was good. We don't believe the brownie was homemade. Just a heads up to any diners that if you make any changes such as veggies instead of potato there is an up charge. I also noticed quite a up charge for 3 more oz of wine for a 9 oz glass instead of a 6 oz glass. I reminded myself that this is a restaurant at a B & B and they have to support the top quality food they are serving. Service was great. We ate at the bar and had great conversation with Chelle who runs the bar. Please visit as it is well worth it!
The kitchen is consistently producing sophisticated dishes that are simply delicious. No matter what season, no matter how slow the attendance, the dishes you request from the menu are available and produced with culinary arts. Couple that with the most gracious hostess in a warm and inviting surrounding with fireplaces Burning bright on a winters night and it had all the makings of a wonderful evening for my wife and myself.
First time there. Prime Rib was not tender and under cooked when asked for medium. Lake Perch was a bit soft and mushy. Sides and drinks were fine.
