Eclipse Restaurant - Deerhurst Resort
It was loud at times as there was a girls hockey tournament in town with several teams staying at the resort.
Roast beef and au jus was amazing tonight and the pesto cream mussels were the best !!!
Food was excellent, lots of variety to chose from ! Desserts were amazing!
We were met for our
It was waaaay too expensive. Not enough salad choices for the cost.
Scrambled eggs or omelette only choice at 9am on 2nd high price
Buffett overpriced New Years and New Year’s Day. Miss led on reservations for ages 10, 13, 16 & 18. For New Years celebration dance & live music which I was told the room key would let you in after your dinner which was a ticket separate cost which we purchased prior to arrival. All teens were told the live music dance was for 18 and up - bouncy castle was offered and refused. They amused themselves. However we may have planned something else had we known. Bit disappointed. Happy new year to you and your staff. Thank you
Took at least 10 minutes for a server to even acknowledge us. Then we were told to go to the buffet when we were ready. Server kept used plates cleared away and water glasses filled. Food was good but not outstanding. Not really worth basically 40 dollars per person. Not recommended
Decent place for a buffet if you are staying at the resort. However I would t drive to this place. Food was just ok. Wine is high priced. Ambiance and service was good.
Staff was really friendly and the location is very nice. Recommending
We had a very wonderful dinner at Eclipse for my partner's birthday. The food was terrific, but the staff were excellent! Our server went above and beyond -- I regret that I do not recall her name, but she was very attentive and friendly, and surprised us with slices of complimentary cake (which were delicious) after asking if we were celebrating anything special. We will definitely return to the resort and the restaurant, perhaps on an annual basis! Thank you to everyone at Eclipse for making our special occasion extra special.
Our brunch was fabulous.Always enjoy our Christmas brunch, the decorations, the food ,the ambiance.love it👌🏻
4 of us visited on Nov 15-2019 and really enjoyed our meal.
Service was good, staff was friendly
I would definitely go back
The Food was amazing we truly enjoyed our supper ! Our waiter was friendly and served the drinks fast! We will definitely eat there again when we come up in the spring
A good variety of food offered but the food wasn't hot. I wasn't aware I could reserve a specific table. All tables at the window were reserved. I'm not found of sitting in the middle of a room. A little pricey.
Service is always excellent. Dinner was great. Good selection of choices and excellent wine list
I paid $53 for just myself! Buffet $37.95 and a $3 coffee plus tip. Food was cold and way over priced. Only good thing was our waitress we had was amazing! Would not recommend this buffet to anyone!!!!
We have enjoyed several meals at the eclipse restaurant and always found the staff excellent and had a good experience.
Great value for the price of a dinner buffet. Excellent service from all staff, especially Christine at dinner and Marga at breakfast on Nov 3.
The food was quite good. Not as much choice and I expected.
We stayed at Deerhurst for a weekend vacation with our two year old son. We dined at Eclipse and were blown away with the quality of the buffet and options for kids. The service was beyond and we did not feel out of place bringing a toddler to dinner here. We will be back!
Always enjoy our meals at this restaurant. The staff are always efficient and friendly.
Being a neat freak would suggest windows be cleaned of spiders and dirt so beauty view can be enjoyed.
Food and service very good, although weekend was buffet service, so some limitations in selection, and food tended to be more basic. Ambience marred by 6 months of spiders (live) and webs on the Windows. Wouldn't hurt to have them cleaned more than once a year!
The reservation was cancelled 1 hour before due to staff shortage. The restaurant closed because the staff had to work for 4 weddings. NOT THE BEST WAY TO RUN A RETAURANT.
Went to Friday evening buffet. Was disappointed with the selection provided, not all that tasty.
Marga was our waitress and she was FANTASTIC! There was a large selection of food, it was all delicious and we truly enjoyed the atmosphere!
Disappointed with the quality of the food on the dinner buffet. The BBQ chicken was dry, the beef tasteless and the vegetables listed as “root” vegetables was a combination of zucchini and peppers. The only root vegetable was onion.
I ordered a glass of Chardonnay which came to the table warm. When I sent it back the server returned with another warm glass. I was told that someone had unplugged the fridge and he offered ice. As a bartender if I served that it would be an issue, over $12 for a glass of warm wine. Sorry but not acceptable!
Totally overpriced for what you receive!
Even with a reservation for 9 people, our table was not ready on arrival.
Took over 5 minutes before waitress came to our table.
No complaints about the food.
Some dirty plates sat on table a long time before being picked up.
But it was a Labour Day long weekend and some servers may have returned to school.
I was extremely disappointed in the quality and choices available at the dinner buffet. I expected more from a resort of this caliber and reputation. A bill of almost $200 for a family of 4 was atrocious and left me shaking my head. Strongly suggest the menu be looked at as I am sure we were not the only disappointed dinner guests.
Average food at resort prices. Fair selection. Nothing special. Decent service after being ignored at reception. Had reservations, didn’t need them. During high season. Was expecting better.
Dining while at resort
Poor food quality.
Waaaaay overpriced for what you get.
Good food and ambiance. We thought we would have a table inside the restaurant based on our previously arranged reservation. However, we were directed to the Terrace, which was delightful. The dining room was very noisy on that day anyway. Letting us dine on the Terrace was probably the better choice. We had an enjoyable time dining outside in the fresh air. Our view of the resort was excellent. The food was excellent, and there was so much to choose from. The weather was beautiful, and all of my guests thoroughly enjoyed their experience. This is the most important thing that concerned me. Thank You and well done!!
It was another great experience at the Eclipse. Myself, my wife and son have been going to this restaurant each time we visit Deerhurst and would recommend it to anyone staying at this resort. Food is delicious and lots of options for the little ones. Buffet is the best thing when you have kids so the food is ready to eat. The meat carving station is my favourite and other food options are good accompaniments to the meat. For salad lovers there is enough to diversify your pallet and the dessert station is YUM (as my 5 year old would say). Breakfast is also a hit with the family. Reasonable price and lots to eat to start off your day.
For the price per person very disappointed. Food selection was mediocre . Beef was good as was the au jus but no potatoes and only noticed one vegetable.
I stayed at deerhurst with my boyfriend for his birthday, i work for skyline horseshoe and the food there is amazing but deerhurst was lacking. We had to make reservation and assumed it was going to be a fine dining restaurant, but it was not anything close to that. Kids running around and people wearing casual to dressing down. As well as it is way too over priced for the quality and quantity of food you get. I am very disappointed that it wasn't worth our money or time unfortunately.
Dinner buffet was rather poor. Main choices of chicken thighs, ribs or roast beef. Nothing was very tasty nor good quality. Restaurant is beautiful however. Would recommend breakfast buffet instead.
We found the buffet rather disappointing for the cost...$37.95 pp. The main courses were just ok nothing really special with limited choices . The salad bar was ok. Desserts were rather disappointing. Nothing homemade really and out of certain things by the time we were ready to partake. Would we eat there again? No. Better food in the Maple Leaf pub.
The buffet was absolutely delicious. That night a fish soup was available in a large pot. I had to have seconds it was so good.
Keep up the good quality service..,
An enjoyable evening dinner! Excellent service and tasty food. However for the high price, I feel there should have been a few more food choices.
The pastry chef here is brilliant!
