Emerald Loop Bar and Grill
Giant Soft German Pretzel
Beer cheese, spicy Colman's yellow mustard sauce
with Side Salad or Kettle Chips
The food was overpriced though the corned beef and cabbage was tasty.
Service was slow. Food took a long time.
Standard pub fare at a reasonable price. Fun atmosphere and very friendly and attentive service.
Family brunch celebration for husband's birthday
Very good food and decent prices! I had the brisket platter and the meat was cooked perfectly. More than enough for one person and the cole slaw was delicious!
This place is fine if you're looking for American style Irish good, however, they were not super accommodating to plant-based eaters. I tried calling ahead to ask what plant-based options they had in addition to the Beyond Burger and was hung up on when the woman went to go ask the chef. I'm guessing she tried putting me on hold but hung up instead. Once we got there and I asked the waiter my questions, he seemed a little annoyed and finally came back with only half my questions answered (the gluten free bun is plant-based but he didn't ask about any of the others). Overall, it was a fine place for a double date with non-vegan friends, but I'm not sure I would personally go there again because of their limited menu.
Our server created a memorable experience. The food we ordered was great and nice portions. We will return. Thank you.
We go to EL every time we are in Chicago. Love it!
Solid bar food with good atmosphere.
Great service and food. The menu had a lot of variety for picky eaters.
Very disappointed, as this place was highly recommended. Arrived for a reservation at 5:30 and were seated promptly. The waitress placed out orders, table of 4. There was an extremely long wait for the appetizer. Once it arrived, the food came 5 min later- minus one order. The waitress forgot to enter one of the orders. My order was incorrect as well, nothing fancy- just a turkey burger with mushrooms and cheese. The turkey burger was missing the mushrooms and was unbelievably dry with no sauce. The waitress apologized and offered our friend several options to help remedy the mistake. We were offered 20% off our entire bill. Our waitress felt terrible for the mistakes and said it was her second night. From that perspective, she was set up for failure to have an entire section on a busy Saturday night. No excuse for the food issues- blah!
The staff was welcoming, friendly and attentive. Good variety of food on the buffet. Will definitely go back there again!
Excellent food options for our whole family, which includes two vegetarians.
This is a very good casual food option before going to the theatre, very good food in a very comfortable setting. Friends were also presently surprised for this very economical option in what could be a normally expensive dining area.
Our food was terrible. It was cold and looked as though someone literally dumped a can of pork n’ beans on the plate for their “Irish beans”. The food was overpriced and our dining experience was very disappointing. I would not recommend it.
The Emerald Loop is our go-to every time we are in the Theatre District! The food, drink and ambiance are excellent! The management and staff keep us coming back!
We ate before a show at the Chicago Theatre. The food and service were good. Our only opinion was that it was extremely loud....we could barely hear each other at our table.
It is too loud as I think three of us suffered fro digestion issues! Will or go back!
Food was only so-so-average. Place is beautiful, lively, close to the Chicago Theater, and our waitress was fun, but wouldn't go back for the food.
Being an Irish bar, we went for the Irish specialties, but the corned beef was very fatty, the Shepherd's Pie was sorely lacking gravy and looked like it sat under the heat lamp for too long.
We also had a hickory burger, which was only Luke-warm. The Nashville hot chicken, which our waitress said was her favorite thing on the menu, was dry and over-priced. French fries were not warm on anyone's plate. Crispy Brussels Sprouts appetizer was soggy. Sorry, the place itself is great, but we won't be back for the food.
The brunch buffet was actually pretty good overall. Omelette and sausage were great. Bacon was sitting in a lot of grease and a few of the pancakes were super hard (no big deal there, it's a buffet and we were near the end of the brunch hours). Main reason for the moderate score was that we waited for 20 minutes or so for our check, and went without drinks for 5-10 minutes at a time even with bottomless mimosas.
Lexie was a great server!!
Great Service and Ambiance! Busy and crowded but you still had room and could hear each other. Hostess and waitstaff were great! Casual dining at its best and for the Loop prices were good
Delicious, great staff. Hope to be back. I tell everyone about this place
Emerald Loop is one of our go to places. The food is delicious and normally the staff is wonderful. But this time, our waiter was not particularly good. And after a long night of indulging, we made a calculation error. He was very aggressive in asking whether he did something wrong, pointing out the calculations on the receipt, etc. it was very aggressive and very uncomfortable. While we certainly may have made a mistake given our lack of sobriety at the time, I did not appreciate feeling threatened. And after his behavior, he didn’t deserve the tip, which I think we gave anyway because he was standing over us. When/if we go back, I never want to sit in his section again.
The food was so good, and portions were filling. The atmosphere was nice and low key. There were a few games on the TV's around but it didn't give off a "Sports Bar" vibe. My wife and I had a 7:15 reservation. We were seated right away and our food and drinks were quick to arrive. We were in and out in an hour. I would return and my wife says the Hickory Burger may be the best burger she has ever had!
Great food in an awesome atmosphere!
Very busy on a Friday evening. Our waitress was very attentive and our food arrived quickly. Very good experience.
Great location. Close to the theater district. Good food. Lovely pub. Ourcwaitress Selina was wonderful. Could you think about adding Irish style nachos (waffle fries and brisket or corned beef?).
Lovely evening. Our server was wonderful, food was good and we had a great time!
Had a quick bite before a concert here. Staff was friendly, service was prompt and food was yummy. Highly recommend the fries with curry and the soft pretzel.
Had a great time. Sat at hightop table. Lots of tvs for watching the Bears
Great food great location great prices.......Great find
I love this place! It's an adorable pub, but is very loud. I was happy we ate away from the bar because that area is ridiculously loud. I wish they could do something with the acoustics in there. It was loud where we were, but not like in the bar area. The decor is lovely, the food is great, plenty of options other than just Irish food and nice to see a few healthy items on the menu. We really enjoyed it and would go back!
Except for omelette, other items are just like what you can have for a free continental breakfast at, say, a Holiday Inn.
Still good value for the price, though.
Excellent service and hospitality at the Emerald Loop! Delicious food and drinks! Our go to place before shoes downtown!! Highly recommend!! You won’t be disappointed!!
The food here is terrible! The waitstaff was rude and didn't seem like they wanted to be there at all. The only nice person was the "new guy" that took us to our seats. We happened to be leaving when he was for the night and he showed us where he Chicago Theater was and was very nice to chat with on the walk. Everything else about the Emerald Loop Bar & Grill was lousy. Don't go there to eat. If you want a quick drink, it's fine.
I don’t know how the food and value are because I waited almost 10 minutes and never even got water so I left.
One of my favorite bars. Good sometimes great food. Great ambiance. Easy location with decent parking around. Only down are stairs to get up to restaurant. Not everyone can do stairs and I've never seen a handicap ramp.
Thank you so much for the kind review! Just so you know, we actually do have a lift right inside our main entrance. It's off to the left of the stairs and kind of easy to miss, but it ensures that our entire venue is 100% handicapped accessible :)
Went there for lunch, food was great and service was exceptional!
Brunch is a great deal with many options! Omelet chef very helpful and friendly. Alli was an attentive waitress.
We enjoyed our experience even with the sleepy baby in a stroller. The staff accommodated us. Thank you to them
