Excellent on every front. Has been and will remain my favorite in Portland.

My favorite restaurant in Portland, highly recommend!

Food was amazing!!

I cannot say enough good things about Emilitsa. The drinks are novel and creative (try the dirty greek, a martini with feta-stuffed olives) , the service staff is amazing (everyone is wonderful, esp Eko(sp?) and owner John), abs the food is simply bomb.

We had:
Rabbit appetizer w phyllo and the best meat sauce you’ve ever tasted - yum.
Beet salad with a simple, elegant dressing and 4 v juicy beets - great start.
Swordfish souvlaki, which i was worried would be tough but the fish melts in your mouth
Moussaka - la pièce de resistance - warn and soooo yummy: we were fighting over every bite.
Baklava - my suggestion would be: get one for each person; that will save you a lot of strife.

Duck entree was amazing, swordfish entree was a little dry

I came to Maine thinking about lobster of course but when we read this menu we were so curious. And our instincts were right. Outstanding Greek food. Really special. And friendly staff and great service as well. Totally enjoyable experience.

What a wonderful dining experience we had at Emilitsa! The food was absolutely superb, the server excellent, and the ambiance warm and wonderful. Highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to return.

The on-line menu showed offering of octopus and lamb chops. Neither were available early Saturday night. That said, everything we had was over the top delicious! Top notch! The spreads are awesome as is the warm grilled pita bread served with them. We had the duck and lamb tenderloin. Both terrific but the duck was incredible! Greek pork sausage app was also excellent.

Don’t go to many Greek restaurants but this was a special treat and we’ll definitely return on our next Portland visit.

Best meal this year. From the res... i asked for a nice table for a special date and they were kind enough to give us the corner booth. I am not too familiar with Greek, and the waitress i think felt it, she reassured me, and made me feel good about my choices and made suggestions. She was the perfect waitress, there when needed but she gave us ample privacy, made this special evening even more special. The food quality and presentation were perfectly on point the chef is a true artist. Thank for a wonderful evening.

We enjoyed our meal Found duck was good but not great and mousakka? Spelling was wonderful so maybe we should have stuck to their Greek offerings. Only negative of the night was waitress Rachael who turned ‘cold’and off when we did not order starters and shared desert. As tourists who are eating out 3 times a day there is only so much you can eat. The politeness of waitresses should not be dependent on you overeating.

We enjoy this restaurant more each time we visit! Along with exceptional, personal and knowledge staff we get to feast on elegant Greek food. This isn't rustic Greek -- this is go-out-for-date-night cuisine! We will definitely continue to visit this fabulous restaurant.

The consistency with which this team delivers an excellent dining experience is stunning. Come summer crowds, pandemic conditions, generational passing of the torch, and weather of all kinds, Emilitsa hits it out of the park every time. It is pricy, but with the guaranteed high quality of food and service, you can trust your special occasion spending to this place.

It is a phenomenal date spot! And the inside is so cute and creates an atmosphere for the meal the chef prepares for you. Only reason it got a 4 in a category was we got a table outside. Which Portland is very pretty. But, some of the people and cars may ruin your experience. When you go, eat inside and get a couple spreads to share over a bottle of wine. You won’t regret a second of it.

This is dining in the age of Covid, so it may not be typical. They have really spaced the tables so there is no noise. The wait staff is extraordinarily attentive. We took several of his recommendations and loved every thing we ordered. The owner made it his business to come by and chat (and wish us a happy anniversary.) So we really loved the food and the experience.

I love this place so much! I had never thought Greek food as an elevated cuisine, but this place definitely changed my mind. Everything was impeccable, from the food presentation, to the service and knowledge of the staff. This is definitely one of my favorite spots in Portland.

We had the tastiest meal we have had in a while at Emilitsa. From the amuse bouche to the braised rabbit app to a lamb tenderloin and the moussaka entrees, everything was top notch. Our server was excellent. During covid times, reservations are limited to an hr and a half, which felt a tad rushed but we do understand their need to impose a time limit. We will most certainly return.

It was even better than I remembered! Service, food, and ambiance were spectacular. Both times I’ve been, it brought me to another place in the world. Thank you so much!

This is been one of my favorite restaurants for the last five years… I can’t think of one thing to even semi-complain about… Mediterranean is alway my favorite kind of food!... and they do it top notch!... I worked in a Greek restaurant years ago and if I ever have any kind of cravings it’s for this kind of food… And they do it best!

Good refined Greek food is hard to find. This was great!! We sat outside during covid, the patio is on a Main Street in Portland so the ambiance isn’t serene but the food is excellent and our waitress was awesome.

My temptation is to write a poor review so that we are guaranteed a spot anytime we are in town-- similar to if you were a skier and knew where there was untracked snow. However, this would be disingenuous. The food at Emilitsa was outstanding- better than any we have had anywhere including Greece. The variety of options and bold flavors were impressive, and the presentation was outstanding. The ambiance was cozy and the service impeccable. We are thinking of returning to Portland just to eat at Emilitsa!

Haven’t had such good Greek food since being in Greece. 10/10, highly recommend. I swear my Yiayia snuck into the kitchen to make our food!

The Emilitsa crew never fails to please. Every time I go there I leave thinking "why don't I come here more often?!"
