Great food & service
Service was amazing and food was excellent!
Everything was delicious and the service as excellent!
Absolutely fabulous on every level ❤️ Our server was so great in guiding us to our menu choices. Best ❤️
Food was very fresh and delicious. Best Italian food we've had in DC. Definitely recommend.
Food was awesome, had to wait for a check, prices were good. Portions were huge. The bread was delicious as was the ravioli & meatball entree.
Noisy, tired, overpriced tourist destination. Gnocchi with broccoli was bland and swimming in a gelatinous cream sauce. Salad bar was totally unappetizing. Not on the repeat list.
Everything was delicious!!
They not have brunch that is a mistake from open table .
Amazing taste! The best lobster pasta that i ever try!
The food, from the warm breads to the main course, was delicious! It was very noisy making conversation difficult.
the food is amazing and portions are huge. The price is on the higher end but they use quality ingredients. Its super busy all the time and tables are crammed next to each other. had a 9 PM reservation but they were able to get us in 20 minutes earlier.
We went the first time a couple month’s ago during restaurant week and we didn’t think it was so good, we gave them the benefit of the doubt. So we decided to go back, but unfortunately I feel it’s quantity not quantity. It’s a shame because I thought I was missing out due to the crowds but I think it’s expensive and not worth it to me. Sorry I did try twice. :(
This restaurant is old school Italian restaurant. It is like walking into an Italian restaurant 50 years ago, but in a good way (friendly, open and welcoming). Great food, great wine and great service. Our waiter, Peter, was funny, nice and very attentive, even though the restaurant was packed my wife and I felt his service was outstanding. His recommendations were right on target and there was no upselling on his part. Everything was perfect from the appetizer (fried Mozzarella) to the main course (Rigatoni, with the Sunday sauce and meatballs) to the dessert (homemade strawberry cheesecake). Everything was fresh and homemade. The manager stopped by a number of times and he was very friendly and helpful. This is the best Italian restaurant in the city.
Even 20 yrs later, FR doesn’t disappoint. Will be back soon from Chitown!!
We always have fabulous meals at Filomenas. Large delicious portions with lots to take home and enjoy as leftovers. Desserts (cheesecake!) are amazing too. My only complaint this last time we were there, was the tremendous overcrowding and noise level. There was literally no space between our table and the table next to us which made any kind of private conversation difficult. I know this restaurant is popular, but I wish they would limit their reservations so the atmosphere could be more enjoyable.
The food here was amazing and the service was some of the best. I would definitely come back here, as well as recommend Filomena to friends, family and co-workers.
I made a reservation a week in advance for my daughter’s 10th birthday. She loves Italian food and many people recommended I take her there. I took her, her friend, my youngest daughter and mom for dinner. We showed up 5 mins before our reservation and they didn’t seat us until 30 mins later. We were hungry, but it wasn’t a big deal, we were excited to be there. As soon as we sat at the table the server came to us and asked for our drink order. Didn’t tell us anything else or ask if we had been there before or if we needed help with the menu. He came back and since it was our first time there we asked if there was a kid’s menu. He immediately got annoyed with our question and stated no. So, we asked if he recommended anything for the kids and he annoyingly stated, either an appetizer or split a meal and walked away. I was furious with his attitude and rudeness. Ok, they don’t have a kids menu, not a problem and I completely understand, but take the time to at least show us where the appetizers were on the menu or suggest what you have seen other families order. I know kids go there because the restaurant was filled with families eating there. I wanted to walk out because he was so incredibly rude, but it was my daughter’s birthday so we stayed. The food was amazing, but the service was awful! I sat by a tray they put in the middle of the floor next to my table where they stacked dirty dishes while I ate. It was awful. I couldn’t even get out of my chair because the tray with so close to my chair if I had moved I would’ve knocked it over. For the price of our meal I would’ve expected better service and more attention to where they stacked dirty dishes. The food was amazing;however, I am not sure if I will go back after that experience.
Delicious food, fantastic service, loved everything about it. The dining room is dark and not easy to navigate because the tables are so close together. The food and service make it worth the squeeze!
First timer here and it met all expectations. Restaurant is a little loud but that’s only because everyone is enjoying themselves. Our server was polite and even though he was busy he was excellent our whole visit. Food came out super fast and was top notch. Don’t forget to try the turtle cheesecake yummm! We will definitely be back.
2nd time at Filomena (I’m from out of town) and I stuffed myself again because everything was SO GOOD. Peter was the best waiter and we particularly loved the baked ravioli appetizer.
A Georgetown Classic, not to be missed!
Make your reservation early or you’ll regret it!
We make sure to go here every time we are in DC and it never disappoints. Portions are huge and I’d rather it be a smaller portion at a more reasonable price but this is as good as red sauce Italian gets.
Fantastic Ambiance. Staff very friendly, location nice little part of Georgetown. Great Food, alot of it on your plate. The Veal Parmigiana was great and covered the whole plate. Waiter was fantastic. Busy place you do need reservations. Well Worth it.
Great food, great service, great experience!
Loved everything about this restaurant. I had the ravioli and meatballs which was excellent. It was 2-3 meals worth of food. The Oreo mousse cake is the best dessert I’ve ever had. The finishing touch of complimentary sambuca and amaretto was simply divine. Can’t wait to return.
Food was delicious and service was excellent!
Great place great food great service was loud in there but it’s a big restaurant with a lot of people and we are loud people as well so it was a great experience.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
Food and service was excellent. Very large portions can - or need to be - be shared.
One negative was they had to wait 30 minutes for a table even though we had a reservation. Surprised the restaurant was so backed up at 7:30 pm on a Tuesday night.
We waited for 1/2 hour for our 7:30 reservation --in a big crowd of at least 30 people waiting for tables. No room to stand---so noisy. I had a headache from the crowded tables, noise, etc. There were 4 of us and none of us will ever go back.
Amazing food. The calamari, sweet chili shrimp were so flavorful. The pasta were fantastic. Large portions to share. They made a vegan vegetable Risotto that was out of this world.
Food was great. Was given the incorrect check for the table next to where we were sitting and brought it to the attention of waiter who quickly brought the correct check.
The restaurant decorations were good, the ambience was good, the service was very good, the taste of the main course could be improved, the welcome on entry and the small reception area on entry was rather chaotic, the cost of the meal (even without any alcohol) was exorbitant.
The food is AMAZING! Huge portions. Our waiter, Tony, was very helpful and a delight to talk with.
The food was delicious. I shared lasagna with a friend so we had room for cheesecake. I had the mixed fruit cheesecake which was outstanding. Definitely worth the trip. Need a reservation.
Wonderful food, atmosphere, & service!
Not the quiet place it was years ago. Tables are on top of each other, expect to wait even with a reservation. More of a tourist spot than a local place.
Amazing food, wonderful ambience, fantastic experience.
Came here for my 21st birthday and it was amazing. This is a real OG Italian Mafia Restaurant. Nothing but the purest Italian dishes. I had the Broccoli Gnocchi and it was phenomenal. 10/10 recommend this place!!
