und machen Filomena zum idealen Restaurant für Geschäftsessen als auch für romantische Abendessen bei Kerzenschein.
they sat us 15 minutes late, restaurant week menu is a good deal
Went to Filomena for restaurant week and had a great time! Everyone was friendly and nice, service was great, and the food was delightful! The atmosphere was also very lively.
Service is good. Tasty dishes, portions are big. Values for money.
Lunch was great!
The Lasagna was spectacular! We lived in Italy for 3 years and never had pasta as good as they make here consistently! The portions are large and over the past many years we have visited Filomena we have never left without a to-go bag. In fact we had a great left over lunch at home today.
All positive but one warning: the restaurant is down a flight of stairs and if you are mobility limited you might have trouble getting to where the great food is.
As we age, we are wondering how we will be able to get downstairs when we are in our 90’s? Any ideas?
Hector is an amazing server! I would definitely request him. He was friendly, considerate, and very knowledgeable on the history of the restaurant.
Noisy, good food, regular service
Food was delicious! Big portions with very kind staff. If youre looking for a quiet environment, this is not the place. But beautiful decor and incredible food.
Amazing as always! You have to get the lasagna...it's to die for. Also a great place for restaurant week - an amazing deal for so much food.
After a failed attempt at getting friends together for a dinner at Filomena during restaurant week, I decided to go by myself for lunch. Best decision I made. Not only was the food amazing but the service and management team was welcoming and gave the experience a “homey” feeling
Great service and food.
My favorite restaurant in DC, a semi-hidden gem for great italian food and environment. Truly a special meal every time we go.
We loved our restaurant week lunch. It’s an expensive place otherwise, but it’s hard to beat the old fashioned atmosphere and vibe. The food was delicious, the pasta in particular was just ethereal.
Truly the best, most authentic Italian cuisine in the area. The Food is always impeccably prepared, very generous portions, and insanely tasty. You really can taste the authenticity. I went during Restaurant Week so it was even more busy than usual, and the service was still fantastic and timely. My favorite spot in Georgetown by far!
Only problem was the steps and no elevator for my friend who has difficulty. Otherwise good experience
Went there for lunch by myself! Also for restaurant week!
Food are great, the cheese are extra fresh and the amount of lasagna and chocolate cake is HUGE!
I didn’t finish the main course and the dessert cause I am too full.
This place is so popular that it is even crowded during week day’ lunch time, but the service remains good. The waiters change my plate and dirty knifes promptly. And they didn’t give weird look to me a lonely customer.
Cost me 28 in total includes the tips.
Very friendly server.
This was my first time dining at Filomena. The restaurant was much louder and more crowded than I expected (especially at 9pm on a Monday) . Luckily, they sat us within 15 minutes of our reservation time. We loved our entrees and the dessert. The portions are very large so we took most of our meals home. I'm glad I got to try the restaurant during restaurant week. It was a great value.
I never miss a restaurant week! Service is always courteous and the food never less than ridiculously delicious.
FABULOUS. THANK YOU.
Very poor acoustics, can hardly hear each other so good for first date when you don't have anything to say to each other, or for people you know and love and never listen to anyway.
but SO very worth it for the fabulous food
We went for restaurant week. Food was delicious. It's just pasta though so the normal prices are wayyy too expensive. But restaurant week was a nice way for us to try it out in a less unreasonable way. Rice arbio balls > meatballs. Cheese sauce that comes on 1/2 of the lasagna is amazing. If you have a sweet tooth, the cake is great!
Most enjoyable experience for restaurant week. Food was amazing and very generous portions! Service was fantastic!!
The service was wonderful. The food was absolutely delicious. The menu selections for restaurant week were excellent, really unbelievable.
Absolutely wonderful!!! This was my first time to Filomena's but I will be returning and often. I was with a group of four others and everyone raved about their choices. I ordered the calamari which was some of the best I have ever eaten. My seafood pasta dish was delicious and quite plentiful. Service was impeccable from beginning to end. I look forward to returning!
No other restaurant has ever so throughly exceeded my already high expectations. It truly is one of the best dining experiences in DC - the food was excellent, the service was exceptional, and the decor was beautiful. What more can you ask for?
Outstanding service, food, and meaningful portion sizes! A heartfelt, authentic experience.
Never disappointed! Our 5th time going. Superb food and excellent service.
We love this restaurant... If you want old school, true food Italian - this is your place. The whole experience is fantastic. It's crowded, it's loud, and the decor is straight from the 80s and you will love it all. Great menu - something for everyone. Get the calamari and anything with the lobster sauce. Enjoy!
Was disappointed with my pasta. Famous Sunday sauce was little dry.
the best italian food i’ve had in my life💦❤️🥰
Great food and service. Restaurant is fairly noisy.
Amazing as always!
I’ll start off by saying that the food was delicious! Definitely help make up for the fact that I felt like I was celebrating my anniversary with two other random couples...that being said- the ambiance not so awesome. Tables are placed close together and the place was packed! Just goes to show how people will compromise elbow room for good food. From what I was told, crowded is a regular occurrence at this spot. It was also very loud. Trying to have a private conversation was nearly impossible. However, I felt like the overall experience was good. The food was pricey but you get what you pay for. The portions were huge!! We ordered the burrata as our app which was phenomenal!! I got the lobster linguini for my entree which was also exceptional, but what I really appreciated was the generous amount of lobster meat! My husband got the gnocchi which was very tasty. The gnocchi was a perfect balance of dense and airy. We hardly looked like we made a dent in our dishes because they were so large. Two could definitely share and entree. No dessert. Too stuffed. But they gave complimentary shots of amaretto and sambuka!
First time - won’t be our last - can’t wait to try more of the menu!
Our reservation was for 9:30 pm. We were seated at 10:00 pm.
Food was delicious. Our server was great as well as the others who helped at our table. A perfect place to dine before attending a show at Kennedy Center. The complimentary after dinner drink was a nice touch.
My first time but not my last time.
Our server Hector was amazing. Got us out in time to make our show.
We had an amazing meal.
I ate it too quickly to snap photos....
Service and ambiance were excellent. The food was perfectly cooked and the wine list extensive. Wonderful evening out.
This place has had many famous people eat here.
I ate her back in the 80 and remember it then compared to now.
I commend the owners for keeping it upkeept and clean.
The wait staff here is spot on and very professional.
I got a sip of Brunello for $18 , Sooo good.
My wife had spring noodles with Sunday gravy( sweet sausage, short rib of beef , meatball in a tomato sauce). She was pleased, but I thought this food is way over overpriced.
I ordered $49 Osso Bucco Milanaise, braised veal shank with risotto.First of all only half of the meat showed up on my plate?A veal shank has meat surrounding the bone, so what happened to half my dinner? Was the waiter hungry?Or the cook?maybe it fell off and the cook got sloppy?Dont know?
What’s going on here?
I really didn’t want to complain because it was a special night out.
We ordered dessert: pistachio and maraschino mousse cake with chocolate crust and topped with very good ganache.
What a disaster, this green mousse was flavorless, tasted old but worst of all contained way too much gelatin.Making it very rubbery and awlful.
The free sambucca and ameretto aren’t in the long bottles any more, Which originaly were very novel.
So dinner cost $167.00 and we tipped $40.The service was worth it but not the food.
Amazing and fresh food. Beautiful ambiance. Wonderful service. Cozy dining room. Highly recommend this place for an amazing Italian dining experience.
