Firefly Restaurant
Top-Etiketten:
Firefly is one of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco. The food is consistently delicious (and nearly all gluten free), the atmosphere is a rare throwback to the days when neighborhood restaurants were unique and heartfelt, and the service is incredibly friendly and professional. Of all the restaurants I've visited (and as a food writer for 30 years in SF, there are many), this one has a stronghold on my heart. Don't miss the flatbread and the s'more.
Like always, good & strange foods, a bit too much bean & kale & vegan themes, odd & unusual servers.
No owner Brad around at night too.
Room about 1/2 full on a Tues night.
One of the best restaurants in Noe Valley for many years, the Firefly serves delicious California cuisine in a cozy, welcoming neighborhood atmosphere. The staff is totally friendly and professional.
Alway a great experience. Always has been.
This is a great place for vegetarians. The food is always fantastic and the service is lovely. This is a great date spot or special occasion spot. Everything on the menu is curated perfectly. You can tell the chef truly wants everyone to have a great experience. One of the best restaurants in SF.
We live nearby and would love to love this place. Unfortunately, our one and only experience was not great.
Two of us dining, and In both of our meals, the sides were random and didn’t go together, for example my Arctic char came with black lentil hash, beets, and celery root cream. And, unfortunately the char arrived lukewarm.
The tostones (sweet potato fried nuggets) were great, the Acme bread and spread was so-so, like the service.
The music was puzzlingly random, from acoustic guitar folk, to classical, to punk. All nice tunes, but jarring to hear back-to-back and failed to create any kind of ambience or experience.
We really enjoyed the dinner - the service staff was excellent, and it is an attractive space, and of course the food was very good too.
A gluten free diner’s dream... Must. Come. Back 🙌🏽
The wine list was overpriced, need more choice below $60.00. The server seemed not interested in our
orders.
The food as always was delicious.
I've been there often and was disappointed this visit.
Firefly is one of our faves. Food consistently excellent, and interesting. The staff is exemplary- warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and always simply spot on. Cannot go wrong at Firefly.
Consistently delicious and great people.
Lovely and romantic out of the way spot in Noe Valley...food is very GF friendly, and well prepared...small room with terrific atmosphere—great wine list...would recommend...
It's our favorite place for special occasions. We come for every family birthday. We have never been disappointed. I tried something completely different this time--kale and plantain enchiladas! They were terrific!
Cozy, hygge neighborhood feel with fantastic food.
My son and I went there for the first time. My brother recommended it and................it was FABULOUS!!!! I did read your history, but that didn't compare to how great it really was to go in person. We shared different dishes and had the kale salad with persimmons followed by the brussel spouts and our entrees were the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and I had the arctic char, which was dynamite!
We will definitely be back there many more times. Thank you for your friendly and wonderful service. We felt like we went home for dinner.
Enjoyable atmosphere, especially for a Sunday night. And good food. Would come back.
Such a cute, cozy place. And I love that it is a little beyond the "no parking" zone in Noe Valley. The waitress was exceptional. She was friendly, gave enough space and time. And best of all, generously gifted me with a biscuit when I couldn't choose between that and cornbread. That little gesture really scored points! I used to own a restaurant and what a better way to entice a customer and to help them learn your menu on a deeper level? As always, it was a relaxing, satisfying dining experience. There is ample space between tables so folks can visit and be comfortable.
Great spot, 3rd time going there, they always hit the mark. amazing food and service. will keep coming back!
I love this restaurant - every time I have a fabulous dinner with delicious food and great service. Thanks Firefly for creating such a nice restaurant. I look forward to my next meal with you.
GREAT food that just so happens to be celiac friendly. The story behind the chef, food, and restaurant are fantastic. Amazing selection of both food and drinks. You won't be disappointed!
One of our FAVORITE restaurants in
SF.! Can be a little noisy but good friends and fine food over come that.
Always enjoy Firefly. The menu is changed often. Food is always great.
Great options for NF, GF, DF diners along with choices for those with no dietary restrictions.
This was our first time to the restaurant. Mywife ordered the salmon and it was served too rare. My vegetarian entrée was OK. The brussels sprouts appetizer was bland and the beat salad was fair.
We may return in the future but going would order different dishes then we selected.
Coming from the south Bay Area, I really love finding restaurants that give me a real San Francisco experience. Firefly had unique ambiance and fantastic acoustics (lively but not loud). They have a beautiful autumn menu right now, including a delicious lentil-stuffed delicata squash, and my husband loved their Brazilian seafood stew. We will definitely return.
This was my first time at Firefly and I will definitely return. The atmosphere is warm, the food is amazing, the service was 5 Star and the kitchen was very gracious in accommodating my many allergies.
We LOVE firefly-the cute neighborhood, the amazing food, and exceptional service make it our true “go-to” every time we’re in SF. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, and if you can, order the fried chicken. You will not even know it’s gluten free. Simply delicious. Japanese Tostones are an appetizer hit. The wine list is quirky and interesting-we always find a new favorite when we come. And the service. Everyone there is great, and then there’s Jane. She makes your experience memorable in all the best ways. Can’t wait to get back for more delicious fun!
Casual, stylish yet cozy, and friendly staff. Service was prompt, friendly, and just the right level of attentiveness.
Ordered the pork chops - delicious and just the right portion for a hungry guy. The restaurant was pretty well occupied, yet I had no trouble hearing my dinner dates conversation. We both really enjoyed our meal. New favorite spot in the neighborhood. Definitely recommend this place for a date or special occasion.
Firefly is one of those restaurants that can span the casual night out with a friend at the bar, a special occasion with that someone special or a group. The staff is lovely, the food meshes amazing and sustainable. FYI, the vegetarian options, whether or not you're not a veggie, are delicious. I like it because I'd never make it at home and it's that good. The space is both intimate and fun. The wine list is amazing. Love it.
Liked pork chop dish but fried chicken was so so
We haven’t been to this old favorite in a little bit. We went for our third anniversary and we fell in love again. We had the fried chicken with the biscuits and the pork chop with the corn bread as an extra. The biscuit and the cornbread were delicious with the honey and butter that it’s served with. The pork chop was amazing but the veggies we’re a little lacking. That was ok as my husband dove into the beans with my fried chicken. We will be going back with friends soon.
Amazing Gluten Free options! Fried Chicken was so good!
The food was very good. However the woman who was our wait person was not very friendly; in fact she seemed to be in a bad mood.
When I asked if they had Diet Coke she flipped over a menu and replied “if you look at the back of the menu you will see our drinks for people of all ages”.
She was not unfriendly with the other two people at my table, who unlike me are men, so maybe she has a problem with women of a certain age. But her attitude colored my experience. It is a fairly high priced meal to be insulted at the very beginning.
We have been to firefly restaurant a number of times. Their food is delicious, and their menu is always interesting we also love the ambience. We would definitely come back here.
We come here for family birthdays, and the three of us sit in the window. It works every time, and I really appreciate them giving us one of those tables. My son always gets the chicken and it's always perfect. I had the kale salad and it was awesome. It had bonus pomegranate seeds and was quite filling. I loved it. I hope they offer it in November when we return for my husband's birthday!
Delicious and varied savory food menu. Dessert was really not pleasant, unfortunately. Butterscotch banana pudding tasted fermented and creme fraiche overly sour.
We had a great experience with some old friends here on Saturday night. Loved the tostones, brussel sprouts and the daikon cakes. The delicata squash was quite tasty. I love when restaurants take time with their vegetarian options and this was clearly the case here. The fried chicken was also a hit. One of the guests in our party is gluten-free and the options for her were plentiful and delicious. We had a bottle of wine and brought a bottle for which they waived the corkage fee.
I wish Firefly was closer to where I live because I would be a regular!
Food is very expensive, but delicious.
Amazing restaurant, a neighborhood gem. Great service, ambiance and food.
They made me feel so comfortable and put me at ease since they know how to make excellent gluten free dishes!
