Velout de Crabe au mais et aux pommes de terre
The best seafood in Carmel. Went back twice in one weekend. Highly recommend.
Mediocre, but inexpensive food, appropriate for the locale.
Wonderful service followed by wonderful food. Great spot in Carmel.
My wife and I had dinner and it was OK. Nothing fantastic.
We came her for our anniversary on a Sunday. The service was fast and friendly. We ordered the artichoke heart appetizer. They were deep fried and delicious. The Cesar salad was ok but nothing extra special about it. I ordered the sea bass for my entree. It was a tad bit salty for me. It was in a sauce which kind of turned it into a fish soup. My husband ordered a seafood plate which contained a variety of items. He said it was ok but again, nothing to write home about. The desserts were delicious.
It was a nice restaurant with a varied seafood menus right in the heart of Carmel.
We had a lovely birthday dinner celebration. As 4 in our party are gluten free eaters, they were ecstatic about your gluten free appetizers, entrees and desserts. We had 3 children with us and while the ambiance was very special, we were comfortable having the children there.
Great choice and everyone was thrilled with Flaherty's!
Went to get a chowder bread bowl and they were out of bread bowls. sat next to a portable heater we had to turn off since it was too hot. poor service and follow up, dissappointed
Outstanding oysters, halibut, and lobster gnocchi plus excellent service.
Our services provided by Angela was superb the fish was fresh and tasty.
If its oysters and cold beer that you like, this is your spot in Carmel. And the reason is because you can sit in an unpretentious restaurant that is laid back yet in the upper tier. Follow those oysters with really well done meals. Wife and I came here for the oysters but left raving also about the tuna and the cod dressed with dungeness crab. No disappointment here---- not a cheap spot, but the value for the dollar is there. Recommended
Short staffed. Waited to get served forever. Out of sourdough bread bowls. The one thing we looked up for and wanted. Barely any sourdough bread. Clam chowder very chunky not creamy at all. Not bad but different.
Service started a little slow but picked up during the experience. It was busy for sure.
The food was very good especially the oysters and tuna Tartare.
Clam chowder was vinegary
Sea Bass didn't smell good and was flavourless.
I was a bit disappointed at the quality of the food that was served.
Very good food. Especially appreciated the nice gluten free options.
We ate in the 'white tablecloth' side. Good service. Seafood was good but not great.
Has great gluten-free options including clam chowder
Flaherty's is easily one of the best places to get seafood in Carmel. I had family come to town and they wanted a nice lunch but did not want to go back to the wharf, so naturally this was the first place I thought of.We went mid-day on a Monday but the service was still good and the food was excellent as always. They have a non-seafood menu, but I convinced my fish-resistant girlfriend to order off of the regular menu and she ended up loving it, but your mileage may vary.
Fish and chips and wine was great. We were checked in promptly and delivered bread. Then had to wait about 15 minutes for our server. She disappeared for most of the rest of our stay and did a poor job looking after us
Food was over cooked bread was hard as a rock.
Easy, fun, great food, great service. Will go back
People skills bad.
Go to Zum Sushi in Pacific Grove, they are great.
This venue had really good food. Ambience was strange, and not in line with cost of meal. No complaints about how good the food was. All other aspects made for a terrible date night. Felt like we were in a Twilight Zone episode. Our waitress was nice but not appropriate to the setting. Spent close to $200, this includes substantial tip. Expectation was a fancy dinner out for pre-valentine's day dinner, was more like very nice food in a diner environment. The clincher was being asked to move or leave while not even halfway through bottle of wine. Needing to seat a large party is understandable, being weird while asking us to accommodate you made us quite uncomfortable, especially since we reserved a week ahead of time through OpenTable. Thanks for the bottle of wine to get us to leave, but this is not the experience we were looking for. Very transactional, not romantic. Review hints say to keep it brief and to the point and don't tell a story, but this was surreal, will put short version at top of this note.
I made a reservation for 4 people for 9PM. When we showed up they told us they close at 9PM, and refused us service.
Always a favorite place to go when in Carmel. Great seafood, and amazing desserts.
It was a tale of opposites. We sat at a table. Two of us had excellent food. One of us had a poor meal. However, the waitress insisted on replacing the meal, even though the diner did not ask for that. And they gave us a coupon for a free entree in the future. So service was good........except, our waitress was also the bartender, so service was not attentive. A lot of things to like but a couple of issues they need to fix.
The oysters and the Cioppino are fabulous and so is the rest of the extensive seafood menu.
Excellent seafood and good service. Desert presentation needs a little help,
Was not happy with the service we received and something made my husband I get supper bloated and uncomfortable. It’s too bad I had I hopes for this place!
The food was very good and the service from the staff was on point. The hostess was right on time and sat us at 7pm. Our waitress immediately came out with menus and drink menus for us to browse. The staff was attentive and great to work with. The food was great and everyone seemed happy with the quality and flavor. We had a great time with co-workers/friends and would definitely come back the next time we are in Carmel.
I’ve been to this restaurant several times using the grouping deal. The oysters are always amazing and the service matches that!! The staff is accommodating and friendly, professional and personable. You have to try it!!
We enjoyed our first dining experience at Flaherty’s very much. The place looked cozy and homey. The service was great and the food was delicious. Great seafood place!
Excellent seafood and service. We ate in the more formal dining room but actually enjoy the bistro next door more as it is more lively and great for people watching. We always make it a point to visit Flaherty's when we are in Carmel.
Food was good and plentiful. Service was excellent.
Great selection of oysters!!!!
Visiting Carmel for the day, I sought out gluten free dining. My daughter and I had a great gluten free experience. Our waitress was understanding and knowledgeable about Celiac Disease/gluten free items on the menu. A dedicated fryer was a dream come true. The food was delish and the crab Louie was fresh and crisp. Looking forward to returning many times over.
Nothing very special. Not bad, but far from great. Really just diner with ok seafood. Certainly not 4 stars, not even 3.
Hadn't been here for several years. Food was outstanding. I had swordfish with gnocchi. Fish had citrus on top, veggies underneath, an imaginative preparation, different and delicious. My wife had sand dabs which were perfectly cooked and had two excellent sauces. Also had the lobster bisque, which wait person Sandra accurately described as "crazy good." We'll be back sooner next time.
Ate in the seafood bar area and found both the service and food to be really good. The waitress was appropriately attentive and answered our questions clearly. Would definitely return and will recommend to others.
Best seafood in Carmel. Highly recommend.
