Dungeness crab was outstanding with the garlic dressing! The crab melt sandwich and clam chowder bowls were fantastic! Cocktails were amazing!
Everything was great!
Wonderful experience from overall. The ambience was quiet and romantic. The view of the ocean and the bay was perfect, although a bit foggy, but that’s nothing the restaurant can control. The food was excellent; we had the filet mignon and it was cut perfectly, and also had the clam chowder bread bowl with dungeoness crab, which was phenomenal. It was a perfect dinner before attending an event in the city. I would definitely go again, and would recommend anyone else to go.
Azriel is an exceptional server. He anticipates what you want and need and has it done. I hope to have him in the future.
Our reservation on a Sunday afternoon was at 2:15. We came from I-80 corridor in the East Bay and traffic was moderate until we got on the Bridge. Getting into the Parking Lot was bad, sign said "Temporarily Full", we ended at the Pier 39 garage. They off course do not validate for F.C. Restaurant. We checked in at 3:00 and we were accommodated. After presenting our vaccination cards, everything else went well. Our server greeted us politely, got us a bottle of wine, and took our order. We ordered all the best things on the menu: Super combo mussels, shrimp and crab (2) bread bowl clam chowder, fried calamari, seafood cioppino, crab louie, and seafood fettucine. It was a birthday celebration for a special guest. All those within 15 minutes sizzling and hot. Everything sooo good. Server very attentive. Nice ambiance and super clean. We will definitely return in near future.
The food was very disappointed. Every year we enjoy eating at your location and this time we were expected to be the same if not better. Well, the chowder bowl was not fresh and the bread was so dry and very chewy.
The crab was not fresh at all and no flavor. Overall experience it was very disappointing dinner for us. It’s sad that we lost one of our favorites seafood restaurants.
Great views, great service and lots of yummy crab dishes
First and last time. Server was inattentive until we asked for the check then he became pushy for us to pay. Made a 7:45 reservation and were told at the host stand we would have to order before 8:00 pm as the kitchen was closing. Server did not come to the table until 8:07 pm. After 20 minutes we had to flag the server down to ask about the status of pre-dinner drinks and soup. One kind crab portion came out short with 1 1/2 sections of claws. The iron skillet was not hot or smoking. Only good thing of the evening was the company and the view. This place is a miss.
We have been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years & this was the first time the food was terrible. From the appetizers to the main course all dishes were not good. For a $500 meal there is no excuse for badly cooked seafood. Not sure we’ll be back.
Great food , great service and the scenery was Awesome!!
Even though we had reservation
We had to wait over 30mins
Overall I thought the experience was pretty good. The only hiccup was my wife’s burger didn’t come out to order, but that’s ok as she just picked off the things she didn’t like. My mother in law, SIL and I shared the Crab for 3 and my gosh that was bomb. For not having a reservation prior but being able to just walk in and get sat was pretty cool. As an industry worker myself I appreciate the good food, service and hospitality. We will for sure be back!
Amazing food and service. So much crab in each order and sooooo good. Don’t miss this place in Fisherman Wharf and don’t forget your COVID vaccine record it no crab for you !!!!!!!
Good service and selection, crazy expensive for what you got
Best seafood / Italian on the wharf.. great drinks spectacular view
Great View. Went at 3pm, between lunch and dinner and had average service. Bar tender was supposed to wait on our table and gave average service. No bowl for the shells and never offered more butter. Go for the view and average seafood.
Showed up for our reservation and was told we couldn’t dine without proof of vaccination. No where on the website or during the reservation process did it say that was required for outdoor dining. Not accommodating at all. We went across the street to a neighboring restaurant and had a great meal outside.
We visited San Francisco in August 2021 and came to the restaurant on a Wednesday at 7pm. The hostess and the table was great and the view spectacular. I would have given more stars if their servers were a little better. They did not make us welcome and didn't ask what we would like to order. Just stared at me when ready to take our order. They seemed...bored? I understand we are in a pandemic and work can be slow at times. This should mean they want to work harder for tips, but the energy was not there. We received a large prawn cocktail and the shrimp was tough and day-old tasting. Like it had been sitting in the cooler all day. Then they brought our food out without clearing the table, expecting my 13 year old to clear her own side of the table to make room for the food. I said they should have cleared the table before the food came out. After that, service was great. So, you may have to say something to get good service late on a weekday. The main course was wonderful. It was the best crab louie I've ever had.
Awesome Food and Service! Responsible during COVID! 👍🏾
My party went to Franciscan Crab Restaurant for a family celebration. It was a Monday night and it was very quiet and relaxed. Our server was very attentive and thoroughly explained items on the menu. We ordered the cracked crab as an appetizer, which was delicious (and messy but they give you a bib and a towelette) and for dinner we all tried different cuts of fish. The entree came with a side of couscous. The salmon with garlic parsley encrusted butter was excellent. Would recommend for locals and tourists alike for a fine dining splurge.
This place seemed to be pretty popular or good, based on the online reviews. So, gave it a shot as it was a few min from the hotel (walking).
The Positives: It has a great vibe, and the window seats were awesome — exceptional view of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. The drinks weren’t too bad either.
Service was overall messy, as was the table. There was a wipe rag, that was dirty, on the window next to our table; there were pieces of crab shell and other food items/crumbs under the table; and, when food was brought out, it was missing things like crackers for the oysters, oyster forks, or hand wipes for cleaning up after removing the crab shell.
The crab did taste great, but it wasn’t remarkable or worth the overall grime, slower service, etc.
Great service waitstaff nice courteous blood orange margaritas so delicious every item we ordered was delicious!!!
Food was good. Have a lunch with nice views by the window. The restaurant is just a little too expensive.
Went 10 years ago and wanted a return visit with our grandson
Great restaurant. Crab is amazing. Service was excellent. Views are amazing. Pricey but worth it.
Our 1st visit was 1962 in our teens; yesterday's visit was our 56th wedding anniversary. THE BAYVIEW IS ETERNAL!
Overall outstanding experience...Asrael was a really professional, kind waiter and his colleagues helped present an organized service. The food was really great. We had awesome view of Alcatraz...it was special event for us and they really delivered. I highly recommend!
We sat at the bar for apps and drinks before dinner. The Scoma alla oysters was wonderful! Bar tenders were fun as well. Our dinner was wonderful. My husband had the ciopinno and I had the salmon. Overall experience was great!
This is one of our favorites when visiting the wharf area. It’s old school classic feel, and traditional menu, along with the great view is exactly what we are looking for when in SF.
Most amazing crab enchiladas ever. Service was exceptional as always
Great crab and value.
Came here while on vacation. Food, service, ambiance and view are outstanding! We split a Caesar salad, had crab cakes with fries and the whole crab in garlic butter sauce. We had whole crab at 2 other restaurants in San Fran known for crab and this was the best!!
Good night with the family visiting Fisherman’s Wharf. This place is over-priced and very touristy, but fun. Fun ambiance. Pretty setting right on the water. Crab dishes are tasty and messy. Wearing a bib is part of the fun. Cocktails weren’t very good. Overall enjoyable experience if you know what to expect.
Azril was our server this evening. He helped us choose how to have our fish prepared. His friendly manner enhanced this special dinner. We were celebrating our 46th wedding anniversary.
Food was good and hot, the crab, shrimp and mussels for two was more than enough for the two of us. We ask for a window table on our reservations and we received a great view of alcatraz and the blue and red fleet. The only reason we gave 4 stars is the bread was hard and cold.
We made reservations, our table was ready and we were able to eat out side, the service was great, the menu was great and the prices were reasonable. A great choice.
Food was excellent as was the service! All around great establishment, highly recommend it!
Food & view was fabulous, service was awful!
I used to live in the Bay Area and for 25+ years never received bad service at this restaurant even when they were completely full with people waiting in line.
On the day we went the restaurant was maybe 50% full and I believe our server may have also been tending bar. So we were neglected. My champagne came quickly and the food eventually once he was free to come over & take the order. We saw others getting what was excellent service on the lower levels, and when we asked for a different waiter, a very rude gentleman came over and started a verbal argument with my spouse.
What he didn’t understand was his customer...... when a well dressed lady walks in with a real LV bag (who typically tips 25-30%+) you don’t treat them like that...... though I was not verbally abused I was paying the bill which for the first time I left a 1 cent tip so they were aware I didn’t forget to leave a tip.
If we visit again I will do take out and buy my own champagne elsewhere.
It was good and location helped significantly for us picking the spot. I do feel like it’s a pricey splurge but enjoyable and tasted fresh.
Nice location, but it's run like a machine to get people through as quickly as possible. Rushed service with a waiter who never checked if we wanted anything else like more wine once the order was in. The bus staff was actually much better bringing water and crab tools, but only after we asked for them. Food was good but expensive. I could excuse the price if the experience was great, but the poor service really let it down.
