Duck Fat Fries
Roasted Bone Marrow
Tumeric Chicken & Tabouli
Bulgur, Cucumber, Tomato, Parsley, Mint, Lemon, Red Pepper Coulis
Drinks were decent, service was ok, my $50 strip was way overcooked and my wife’s $35 scallops were mostly raw, the duck fat fries tasted like normal fries, the place needs a wake up call
Great time had by all !!!
Will definitely be back
I have enjoyed G&G many times over the 8 years I have lived in Napa. The food is still excellent. However, prices have skyrocketed. Our fellow diners, Calistoga residents forever, and we were stunned by the cost. Wine in particular seemed overpriced.
The staff are so wonderful!! It’s our favorite places to go. It’s so welcoming for families or a couples date night.
Great food, but there was a mixup that meant my wife's appetizer came out first, then a long wait then my soup and our 'split' main course.
Rather than let my entree get cold we sent the soup back.
They apologized and took it off the bill but for somewhere that have a much better reputation than that it was the sort of slip that they shouldn't make.
Was recommended fish and chips by the server but they ended up being sold out which was a bummer. We didn’t get anything too fancy for lunch, burgers and sandwiches which all tasted good, not too many ways you can screw those up. The pig ears were good but not all, I felt, that they were hyped up to be. The service was great and the ambiance was nice. I gave it 4 stars because for what we got, I felt it was a bit over priced.
Excellent food , service and atmosphere! We will definitely be back !
Wonderful place. Delicious food. Great waitress. Loved the ambience. We 6 would give this place a 10! Definitely will come back.
The food was awful, I tried several dishes such as the mushroom soup, bone marrow, and the huitacoche scallops. The scallops were the worst dish I had. They were extremely salty, smelly, and not cooked properly. The only thing I enjoyed about this place was the service and the ambience. I would never come back again though. I don't mind paying for these type of dishes as long as the food is decent. Even the chicken wings were bad. How can they possibly ruin chicken wings! They are really easy to make. I guess this place is not really known for good tasting food.
Our server was very helpful! His insights into the restaurant and food led us to enjoy our dining experience. The food was served quickly and was beautifully prepared. We had to take pictures before we devoured our meals. Best restaurant in the NAPA valley! It’s a must go to if you are in the area.
Definitely St Helena's Hidden Gem! Top notch service, superior food for the value, with the most amazing atmosphere! A must try, and enjoy!
G&G has been on my "To Dine" list for a while. It's quite possible my timing was off (showing up between a lunch/dinner switch?) but I left earlier than expected and disappointed.
Ended up in the bar (downstairs, small-ish, but definitely has a ton of character, and I loved all that brick), the only menu provided was the bar menu, and I was just planning on having something more than a burger.
I might give G&G another shot, but I favor my usual St. Helena joint, and have other new places to explore.
One of our favorite meals in Napa - everything was beyond delicious.
Celebrated a birthday . Great food, cool ambiance .
Made reservations weeks in advance, arrived to seemingly unorganized front who made us wait 20+ mins without any comment about the mixup. Manager came by and at least brought us complimentary appetizer after 30’. Food was so so, ambiance is loud and fit more for the large cruise set.
A little disappointed in the food. Service was great and fun decor.
Great atmosphere. Extremely nice service, just not my favorite food.
On a Monday evening, it was a very nice, quiet room. Ben, our excellent server, recommended their cheeseburger. It was definitely the best burger and fries I've ever eaten. My wife had the beet risotto, which she thought was delicious. Definitely will return.
Duck fat fries are delicious- their burger with duck egg was fantastic!
Quaint house turned into restaurant with a fowl scene. Food was prepped well for the adults. Kids chicken tenders could have been more moist given that it was bland (i'm assuming on purpose to appeal to kids). I had a steak sandwich that was in tasty marinade complemented with duck fat fries (although you couldn't tell). Others enjoyed their dishes as well and we finished off with the trio of ice cream dessert which was in house made along with an in house prepared red velvet cheesecake. Service was on par especially as it got busier.
One of the best burgers I’ve had and a fun and interesting assortment of cocktails.
Great experience from the greeting at the door to the service at the table to the food. Everything was exactly as you would want.
Everything we ordered was good - the shaved Brussel Sprout app, the octopus, the scallops... Even the coffee was excellent.
We left very Happy.
Absolutely no complaints. The octopus appetizer was to die for! We also loved the squid ink pasta and duck leg. You must save room for the coffee panna cotta. Yum!
Menu was interesting, but excitement stopped there. Brussel sprouts or not crispy or caramelized and were topped with tuna flakes which was unappetizing. The rest of the food was quite bland. Fried chicken was very under cooked. Even though the four of us did not eat much of the food the waiter did not pick up on it and even though the chicken was cut open and showed to be be pink and bloody inside he did not say anything. I think this was due to inexperience. It was very disappointing as the opportunity for high-quality food in the Napa Valley is very high and we were only in town for a few nights.
We were disappointed with the food. Overall the food was bland and flavorless. The best thing we had was the duck fat fries that came with the chicken sandwich, and the fish and chips which also had to duck fat fries. The chicken was fatty and the bun fell apart. It features a jalapeño aioli that neither added flavor or moisture. The wood roasted cauliflower was raw and cold but chard black on the outside. It was also lacking in seasoning and flavor.
Amazing service and food is excellent. By far one of the best meals I’ve had in a while.
The restaurant was especially thoughtful in providing a special table and even a greeting on the menu to celebrate the occasion. Our waiter was very thoughtful as well. The food was generous and delicious.
Service was very slow and disappointing. Great atmosphere and food was good.
Loud. Too loud to converse in main room.
The ambiance is a little dark but apart from that the food and service was wonderful.
We booked an early dinner and it was not too packed. Service was outstanding. We had their aged rib eye special and was worth it. One of the most extensive wine and spirits list. Try the chicharrón. So light and crispy. Overall great experience.
Amazing food. You have to get the pigs ears! All the food was great and the prices weren’t that expensive. Great cocktails too
Great little spot. Street parking convenient. Nice atmosphere, good service. Food was good. The pork burger was very salty and this is coming from someone who likes a lot of flavor. Must have been an oops by taste of it, good still but could have been better. Fries were meh. Mushroom soup amazing. Cocktail menu was ellaborate and cocktails pretty good but of course the typical $15 a pop. Worth a stop.
I've been enjoying goose and gander for many years. Between the food, the cocktails and the ambiance it's one of my favorite restaurants. Unfortunately this last visit on Saturday the food and the service were both not just lacking, were unacceptable. The fried chicken was not cooked all the way through and they didn't even take it off the bill for us. The server I know has been there for years was off for some reason, she seemed in a bad mood all night long. I will be back because I know this was an off night but not sure how quickly I will return. There's lots of good restaurants in the Napa Valley!
We had a terrific lunch. We both started with their mushroom soup. My husband had their famous burger and I had the fried chicken sandwich. All was delicious. Highly recommend.
Been to G & G several times for dinner, but first time for lunch. Also took advantage of restaurant week. The G & G burger is of course, great. The fish and chips was also fabulous. Always go when I am in the valley
Things were off that night during Restaurant Week at Goose and Gander. Nothing was exceptional. The Martini House Mushroom Soup had a burnt taste, we both agreed. We are familiar with how it's supposed to taste and have had it many times (one of our favorites). They were out of my first selection entree at 7pm. I had choice #2 instead, fried chicken and it wasn't fantastic, chicken was under-cooked. I had the accompanying wine pairing and service staff removed two glasses of wine when they still had the last sip that I was savoring. Not something that makes me happy, ever. We've eaten here several times and have previously ALWAYS found it very good, all around. It just didn't meet our expectations this time and compounded disappointment when we calculated in the value of our $200 dinner for two.
I thought this place was so cozy with such good vibes! I felt like I was in an old speakeasy. It kills me that they don't do any sort of Happy Hour but that won't keep me away! I'm curious to try more of their drinks. I think our server had to revisit our table 5 times before we ordered drinks. We wanted everything on the menu!
Very eclectic atmosphere which we appreciated. Food and service were both very good. We did find prices to be a bit high though. With tax and tip we were right at the $300 mark. It was restaurant week and that presumably was discounted pricing. Certainly to rich for our blood for everyday, weeknight dining..
