Amazing food, amazing presentation, amazing service! One of my best dining experiences. Can't wait to go back!
The food and the presentation are sublime! Each course had wonderful textures and flavors! We love everything about Goosefoot and have never been disappointed.
THE BEST!!!!! THIS RESTAURANT DEFINATELY DESERVES 2 MICHELIN STARS!!!!!
Fantastic, memorable, and delicious
We visit Chicago often and we dine at goosefoot. Wonderful experience. The winter menu is the best we have had since they opened. Natalia is a great addition to the team. Keep up the great work!
Incredible dining experience! From start to finish! Nina is the best!
Great experience at Goosefoot. Definitely recommend for a fine dining experience.
We were absolutely blown away by the finesse and elegance of their food without any of the pretention that can be found in other restaurants of this caliber... Nina was a delight in greeting us & making sure everything was taken care of expertly. Cannot highly recommend Goosefoot enough.
Wonderful food. Great service. And in contrast to many multi-course tasting menus, we definitely left full.
Just plan for the BYOB and do some half bottles of sparkling, white, red if you aren’t with a crowd.
Great experience as always. We love the new menu, everything was delicious. The venison course was one of my favorites, just "magnifique".
Chris really hit it out of the park with familiar yet distinctly delicious flavors. Every dish felt like the best version of itself. Front of house service was attentive, warm and welcoming. Overall excellent experience with creative presentation and nice ambiance.
Delicious food but enjoyment decreased by waiting over 40min for our first course. No bread, no nothing - just sat at the table for 40min with nothing except water and the wine we brought. By the time the food came I was so starving I ate too quickly to really appreciate the first course:
It is a wonderful place where Chris and Nina Nugent take great care of each person. Chris’ food is consistently amazing. A great value and you can bring your own wine. A hinder neighborhood gem that should get much more publicity than it does.
Enjoyed it thoroughly
The Goosefoot staff provided us with an extraordinary evening. The tastes were unique and memorable while providing us with a visual experience that went beyond our wildest expectations. My husband and I have not stopped revisiting each course..we have continued to savor each and every course. Thank you for making our birthday celebration one we will never forget.
An outstanding way to celebrate a milestone birthday. Wonderful, welcoming ambiance, attentive service. We were delighted by every dish, both through visuals and taste. We will definitely return!
Absolutely phenomenal experience from the food, to the service, to the explanations and BYOB. highly recommend.
Have been trying to get here for years. Finally worked out and overall we had a nice time. We arrived a bit early, no traffic and were seated right away. We had brought a lot of wine. Was a bit odd that we had to wait over 20 minutes before a bottle was opened. Then the courses started. We loved the soup. Loved the tortellini. They were nice sized portions. The beef was delicious yet very small. Was surprised there wasn’t another course. There were a couple of desserts. One which looked like an ice cream cone was disliked by the entire group.
It was a bit disappointing. Overall we had a lovely evening but for the price I’m not sure we would return. They’re are other options in the city for this kind of meal where we have left blown away by the quality and quantity of the food.
Our go-to fine dining restaurant in Chicago! We've been going to Goosefoot (not frequently enough) since it first opened, and the husband and wife team of Chris and Nina Nugent are always welcoming, presenting innovative delights, and continually upping their game. We love we can always depend on Goosefoot for an excellent experience, new cuisine each time we come, and a relaxed, entertaining and intimate evening. The more recent upgrades to decor, themed dinners, and access to reasonably priced wines paired to match the menus are a huge plus... can't wait to go back!
We have been to almost every great restaurant in Chicago and many in the US and abroad. The food and experience was tremendous. It far exceeded our expectations. It should be at least 2 Michelin stars.
We had a tremendous experience, excellent service, great food. Get the best bottle of wine you can afford, go and enjoy a great experience.
Very much enjoyed the Woodstock ‘69 theme and food! Some of the course flavors were strong or rich, but it was absolutely an enjoyable evening. Hope to see what the next seasonal inspiration brings!
We had a pretty high expectation for Goosefoot, but we ended up really disappointed by the food. The first dish, the scallop, was amazing. Scallop was perfectly done with a creamy sauce full of lobster flavor.
However, the second dish was still heavily creamy, and we did not get why the chef would include rice in the soup since the rice does not really go well with sausage, crab, or the soup itself.
The third course was really a nightmare to us. It was so heavy that I only finished 1/4 of it. Even the burgundy truffle could not save this dish.
We love the angus beef, which was probably our favorite dish in this whole set, but happiness did not last long, especially when we had our final dessert, the ‘macaron’. I know I might be too straightforward but to be honest I could not understand the aesthetics. The chocolate was also pretty heavy, not to mention the weird combination of chocolate and boysenberry sauce.
Overall I wished I just had the scallop, the beef, and the vanilla ice cream-like dessert. The name and the story of this restaurant does sound cute, the space itself does look cozy, but the food did not worth out trip and the money.
Fantastic and creative food. Service was both friendly and highly professional. Loved being part of what I have to call an art installation (multimedia representation of Woodstock). BYO is a huge bonus.
Had a wonderful birthday dinner here. Nina is a wonderful host and Chris leads a creative and tasteful team in the kitchen. BYOB helps keep the cost down and the menu is well-priced. Worth it!
My partner and I went to Goosefoot to celebrate our anniversary and from start to finish the experience was outstanding. The decor is adorable. Currently there is a "Woodstock" theme, and dioramas (including Herbie the Love Bug!), video, and music set the perfect mood. The music is at an appropriate volume for conversation. The small, 30 seat dining room feels intimate, but the tables don't feel crowded. And the food. Oh my God the food! From the first bite of scallop to the last bite of chocolate, every dish was beautifully cooked, creatively presented, and explained with passion. It's clear this restaurant is a labor of love from Chris and Nina. They even wrote Happy Anniversary on our dessert plate (in the most delicate chocolate writing I have ever seen). The courses were delicious and appropriately sized to leave us full but not stuffed. You can arrange to purchase very reasonably priced wine in either full or half bottles from the shop next door. We loved the half bottle option so that we could have bubbles, white and red, and they made great recommendations to complement the food. It was a really special experience and I highly recommend it!
Just SPECIAL. Outstanding. Unique. This is the only dinner we have found to rival 11 Madison Park in New York. From an unassuming front door entrance in still transitioning Lincoln Park--which makes one wonder whether you have found the right location--one enters into a beautiful, ultra modern and understated small dining room. You soon wonder if you have walked through a portal into either Manhattan or onto The Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris. It is a set menu. Four offerings. Each course is visually stunning and delicious beyond comparison. Tastes we have never before savored any where in the world. Sauces are a specialty. So subtle and refined, yet so voluptuous to the taste. One wonders how impolite it could possibly be to lick the plates given the extraordinary one-of-a-kind taste sensations!
It is family-run: husband and wife (and I think daughter). Lovely people. Bring your own wines. They expect it and hope for it. No corkage fee. They have a small serviceable wine list at EXTREMELY reasonable prices, but the selection is small. The wines are high 80 point selections. Nina, the wife, knew just what to do, though, with our Cristal 2008 champagne. They are no strangers to fine wines.
Flowers on the plates are edible, and delectable. every food offering is a work of art, as are the plates. Looks like likely one table-turn per night. This is slow and gracious dining. Plan two hours. The food comes out of the kitchen on a regular basis, but you are left with time to savor each dish and talk with your table mate or maybe even the adjacent table. There was a sense of excitement in the main dining room among the diners who were there. (There is also a private dining room seating probably 8?) One instantly realizes upon entering that this is something different and VERY special. When dessert comes, you will better understand the name of the restaurant.
I was expecting a bill 50% higher than what came ($145/diner). We cannot wait to go again!
The food was incredible. The courses were larger and IMO, the perfect size. The service was perfect and the servers were extremely knowledgable and proud of what they were serving. I highly recommend Goosefoot to anyone who loves to eat unique, creative cuisine.
A place we rely on for special occasions. In this case our anniversary. Husband is the chef and his wife front of the house. Always superlative service. Pre fix menu is always stunning in terms of presentation and wonderfully flavorful. Portions are generous. BYOB but can get wine at Goosefoot’s store. Goose foot got 1 Michelin’e star but deserves 2. Maybe next year
Amazing food. Beautiful presentation.
Lovely evening. Food was great. The decor was well thought out. The service was very friendly too. My only comment is that the service is a bit slow. We were not aware that the service was in sittings. We arrived 15 mins early, but didn’t have any food until an hour our arrival.
We are frequent diners and love the flavorful and creative art on a place meals , cozy atmosphere resembling a party in someone’s living room. The food as usual was excellent! Plus very conversation friendly. Nina and Chris are lovely.
BYOB is an added bonus
Dining as theater: a choreographed food performance with twists, surprises, and sensory delights. The food and experience was well conceived and executed from beginning to end. We loved it!
A favorite for a special meal or when you just want to treat yourself to a special experience.
We were treated as if we were family, Nina and Chris does an outstanding job they should have a Michelin three star rating. We will return.
For the price food was just average
This was an absolutely wonderful experience! Phenomenal food!!
My husband and I spent our 20 year wedding Anniversary at Goosefoot! The food and service was amazing! Nina and Chris have a fabulous restaurant! We look forward to returning!!
Wonderful food and presentation, tasteful but not stuffy, imaginative combination of flavors. Highly recommend
Each dish was a work of art. Everything was delicious. Had a great meal for our 25th anniversary.
