Gracias Madre - SF

Not a fan of their flavor palette, service was very poor and we were surrounded by empty tables so I was a bit confused by that.
As always food was amazing, staff was amazing!!
What a hidden gem. My non-plant based partner was just as delighted with our meal as I was.
Overall experience was good but I was a little unpleasently surprised that the hostess did not even tell us that she is sorry and we will have to wait for some time, not even approximetly for how long and I had a table booked (we were on time). The patio where we were supposed to stay was completely booked and none of the tables looked like they are about to leave. After 15 - 20 mins of waiting, which I would not mind if she offered for example waiting on a bar, we got the table in and an amazing server who was really kind, professional, and passionate about what he does. We ordered 4 dishes and only one was kind of off but not Gracia’s Madre fault, just not a good pick. Wine was amazing, despite it was full it was not as loud. I would like to give people a heads up that you might end up sitting with someone since that is Gracias Madre’s policy and it is not always pleasant, especially when people who arrive at your table are not social skilled and well-mannered.
Overall good experience, but in the future I will probably go back to GM in L. A., not here.
Once again... AMAZING.
Great food! You'd never even suspect it's vegan...
You won't find Mexican Vegan food very many other places ... so if that's your thing, it's a great find. That said while the food was tasty, it was slightly overpriced (especially the margueritas) ... 1 drink, 1 entree, shared app = $50 / person.
Amazing food and great atmosphere! Food was reasonably priced, drinks were a little pricey, but we didn’t try them to know if they were worth it.
We brought my 9 year old nephew here and he loved it. He didn't miss the meat and was shocked at how good the cheesecake was without dairy.
We came here for Valentines Day. The restaurant itself is very nice and clean with nice decor however it’s in a not so nice area. It’s easy to find right on Mission. It’s communal seating which isn’t my favorite and the lady that sat next to us wouldn’t stop talking to us even though we were clearly on a Valentine’s date. The food was very good but the drinks were terrible. I thought it was a full bar but it’s only tequila and I’m not a tequila fan. Overall I really enjoyed it there and plan to go back.
Absolutely amazing experience here for lunch on Valentines Day !
This place is wonderful and always busy. Over the years they have only improved. The cocktails and juices are really special and house made tortillas are exceptional. Be aware they use communal seating. So if you're hoping for a semi-private conversation and are a party of two, take a spot at the bar, or if you're a large group, then you get a whole table to yourselves. But I don't like coming here with a mid sized party - I've often been irritated by the loud conversations of people directly next to me of self conscious of being overheard myself. The idea is to build community, but generally people want to feel close to who they came with and not make friends with strangers. It works for the restaurant - they can seat more people and turn tables more efficiently, but I have to think first about who I'm coming with, what we'll be discussing, and how many are in my party before I choose this place.
Flavors are still pretty good on the chimichunga, but service was inattentive and the prices are just a bit high (for a brunch).
Home of the best nachos on the planet. The cocktails are the perfect match.
Our server Isela Y was terrible. She did nothing to fix or order that was mismanaged by the guy running the food out of the kitchen. Even after complaining to her about it, she didn’t check to see if my food came out or not. I received my order a good 15 minutes after the other people at my table received theirs. She was just terrible and ruined our experience.
Great food. Everything we ordered was great! (Pass on coffee tho. )
Very bad neighborhood and the communal seating was not something I was told when I made my reservation. Overall great food, but I don't know if I'd go back to this part of the Mission district.
Amazing flavors. Love the plant-based menu.
The food was average-to-good, but service was terrible. very noisy place with uncomfortable seating.
Consistently good food, and exceptional service this time. Thank you!
Staff were great - had good suggestions. Food was good, especially the cauliflower with cashew cream : )
Restaurant interior is rustic and cozy. Ginger-mint tea was overwhelmed by the ginger, couldn't drink it. The strolling guitarist at lunch was too loud for people trying to have conversations.
I love this restaurant. I adore their black beans. I had the Bowl Uno and it was outstanding. I want it again tomorrow. Which it was closer to where I live. So delicious!!
Server was not happy to serve us! For the price we pay, we expect them to be happy! Portions are small for the price especially the chips and guacamole for $10.
Beautiful, warm and cozy setting inside. Service was excellent from the onset and continued through the dinner. Appetizers, posole, tacos were delicious!
We were ice cold sitting outside-- we had a reservation and they sat us under a heating lamp that simply did not so the trick. We had a great server though. Food was quite good. Tortilla for the enchilada was a bit to hard. Beans and sauce was excellent. Cocktails are wonderful. Would I go back? Probably. But with lower expectations.
Food was delicious - little spicy but overall very delicious!
First time in San Francisco
Service was horrible especially compared to the Los Angeles location which I love
