My fiancee and I went to Gracie's to celebrate our engagement and it couldn't have been a better experience. The staff went out of their way to congratulate us and make an already special day absolutely wonderful. We look forward to celebrating with Gracie's again in the future!
Such an amazing place! You absolutely will not regret coming here. Food and service phenomenal and out of this world.
stunning, as always. The creativity, the amazing flavors achieved, the outstanding service! oh my, it was just so so good!
I did the 4-course menu including beets, gnocchi, celery root confit, and banana & lime semifreddo. All were really good and the intermezzos made it all the more fun and interesting. Staff was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
Gracies is my favorite place to dine. I am continually impressed with the incredible food choices, perfect wine pairings and knowledgeable staff. The attention to detail is demonstrated from cocktails to the last delectable bite. Chef Varga and staff have created a gastronomic adventure that is satisfying and memorable. Shout out to my boys Brian, Jon and Jordan who have inspired me to spread my wings! Kudos to all:-))
Another spectacular evening!
Our third dining experience at Gracies. And it never disappoints our server was Evan he was absolutely fantastic. From soup to nuts a wonderful experience.
Meals were fresh and interesting with small extra bites provided at no charge.
Food good, service erratic.
We made reservations through OpenTable's "Restaurant Week Boston" - I was surprised that there were any Providence restaurants listed. In fact, Gracie's was the ONLY one on the list. But supposedly, the special menu was available on Saturdays. So I was a little perturbed to be told that this reservation did not qualify - Providence Restaurant Week had been in February, and Gracie's had already made it an entire month. I don't know where this fell through the cracks, if it was Gracie's management or OpenTable. The reservation was made in February.
We were seated in the basement, in their wine cellar. It was very quiet, which was nice for the hearing-impaired member of our party. A little claustrophobic with the door closed. Staff would unobtrusively zip in and out for bottles of wine. The major downside is that they appeared to have forgotten us. We were never given a food menu. I was on the verge of calling the restaurant to remind them that we were there when the waitstaff finally showed up. The server, Jordan, told us that they only give out menus if we decide to forgo the tasting prix fixe dinners. Ah, but we've been here before and both other times we were given menus. Nice attempt to gloss over the oversight.
We had the chef's tasting menu. Once the courses started coming, the service markedly improved except that the requested refills on wine only came after a second request more than ten minutes later. Plus another delay between getting the check and Jordan's return to pick it and the cc up, so long that my husband finally brought it upstairs himself.
The food was good, and NOT overly salted (my biggest gripe at restaurants these days). Pasta with ragu, the lamb two ways, and the roast cod were particularly good. There was so much food that I could not finish dishes that I enjoyed, and only sampled the dessert. The cheese plate was definitely not for the timid.
The food, service, and price point were better at Persimmon.
Gracie’s is the best.
Get the the 4 course menu with wine pairings.
Staff is on point.
We've been to Gracie's several times and have always enjoyed it. The vegetarian options were a little limited and we thought that in the past the food had more interesting tastes; I used to give an "outstanding" rating to the food. The beet salad and toffee dessert really were excellent. The wine pairings could also be improved. Service was very attentive, sometimes bordering on intrusive.
Amazing! Always a good time and great meal!
Perfect for a special evening!
We were celebrating my SO’s birthday. Everything was delicious and very special! I had an entree , the waitress and chef were very accommodating of my keto diet. My SO had the 7 course tasting menu wine wine pairing, he is still raving about how delicious it was! The cookies in the car for the ride home really are the icing on the cake. Fabulous place for a special night out. I highly recommend Gracie’s !!!
Very limited menu and portions small. Service is very slow. Went to celebrate my birthday and was disappointed.
My daughter and I have been going to Gracie’s for dinner before attending Trinity Rep Theatre for years now. Gracie’s had become my favorite restaurant as the service is excellent and we could enjoy an elegant dinner.
Saturday, February 22 was our first night back since October and much had changed. They have revamped their menu so that now they have taken on the multi course small plate concept that has become popular with some, but definitely not with us.
When I ordered duck, which had traditionally been my favorite dinner, I was expecting a duck dinner. Instead I received a few pieces of duck breast (medallions perhaps) and a piece of what turned out to be duck kielbasa. To me kielbasa is not what I would expect to be served as part of an elegant Gracie’s duck dinner. The breast pieces had the taste I have come to expect, but there were not enough to satisfy me or make up for the kielbasa.
No longer was a lovely bread basket passed so we could select from a few options. Instead we were served pieces of their choice with one being a selection that my daughter and I always have passed up on before.
The cheese cart was a great new addition!
The specialty cocktails were mainly bordering on a trendiness (beets, sweet potatoes) that we could not embrace. We did choose the Ras El Hanout based on our server’s suggestion and this was good.
I have always said that Gracie’s was my favorite RI restaurant for a lovely dinner. After last night I am not sure I feel this way any longer. Small plate servings have their place, but not when I want a dinner serving as Gracie’s previously had so beautifully provided and now does not.
To say that I am sad and disappointed is an understatement!!
The food and service was excellent. We really enjoyed ourselves all night long. Overall Gracie’s is a great experience. I highly recommend doing the 7 course chefs selection.
Fantastic food and service. Chef’s tasting menu was exceptional.
Gracies is our favorite special evening or event restaurant! Never let's us down in terms of a special dining experience with excellent staff, attention to detail in service and food! Terrific as always!
Had dinner here to celebrate our anniversary. Evan and Tessa were our servers. They were wonderful. The meal was top notch as it always is. The octopus was cooked perfectly. The warm olives were delicious. And they always add a little more to your experience.. like baby macaroons or a complimentary glass of champagne. A wonderful restaurant. Not inexpensive, but worth it!
Visited for Valentine's Day dinner. Very busy on a Saturday night and with dates lingering of their meals there was a little delay in seating with complimentary champagne to ease the timing. We were seated in a curved seating banquet for two in the corner with a view of the whole room. Excellent service by 6 different waiters, servers, clearer, etc over 3 hours that flew by over 4 courses. Very pleasant evening.
Well... the food was incredible, which overall makes up for everything else being a huge mess.
We arrived for our 8:30 reservation on-time. Gracie’s is the only place I’ve encountered that puts a hold on your credit card in case you don’t show, so I assumed that meant the reservation would be ready when we showed up. Nootttt even close. It took 30 minutes for us to get our table, but worse than that, the hosting staff seemed to be seating people at random. Multiple couples that came in after us got seated before we did, and we actually wound up getting seated before a couple that had been waiting longer than us (they also had a reservation).
The meal itself was amazing and the $60 4-course tasting menu is totally worth it, but it took longer than it should’ve because at one point they tried to bring us the wrong food and then it took a while for them to (I assume) prepare the correct course. Not a big deal but THEN we got the check....
They overcharged us $50. We pointed it out and they took it off, but jeez. Everybody has a bad night but this was like the Murphy’s law of bad service.
With all of that said, I’d recommend this place for the food alone even if they threw tomatoes at you when you walked in the door.
Waited 45 past reservation time horrible service never got drinks we ordered were seated in basement- very disappointing for our anniversary celebration will not be returning
Gracie's is exceptional! My husband and I celebrated out 33rd wedding anniversary there and Gracie's certainly did not disappoint! The staff was very attentive but not so much so that it was too much. The food was so creative and delicious. I would highly recommend Gracie's for that special night you are looking to celebrate. Every aspect of our experience was certainly one to remember!
We loved the service and the menu. The server was extremely nice and knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients. 5 Star service! Our only issue was that we accepted a table downstairs, but it was clear the ambiance and decor upstairs was superior. Nonetheless, we would return.
Elizabeth our server was outstanding. The duck was the best! And the ambiance and table were perfect !
Super experience. A little loud and crowded when we arrived for our 8:00 on a Saturday night but I suspect that was because it was a performance night for the stage across the street. They have service and experience down to a science plus amazing food. Tables are
generously spaced apart. Portions are relatively small but delicious. Logan was as good a service person as I had read on other reviews! Highly recommend.
Our sever,Jim, is someone I request when I go to Gracies. He makes every time I go to Gracies a great dining experience.
