Gramercy Bistro is always a win, excellent food, great atmosphere and very good service. Also good for unique drinks.
But I think that was due to virus scare
The paella and scallops were excellent.
We were greeted and seated promptly and the table was placed nicely affording a view of the courtyard.
The food was creative and tasty.
The service was slow however and we were two hours from seated to paid.
Not recommended if you’re in a rush.
It was a quiet night for the restaurant so hard to judge ambient noise levels. Service was wonderful and attentive. We had the salmon special and the veal on the menu. Excellent presentation and flavor profiles. We can't wait to go back and try more!
We've eaten at Gramercy several times, it's been consistently good. The best thing on the menu are the crab cakes in wasabi sauce.
Excellent food and service, but the restaurant was almost empty! The ambiance is rather dated and dowdy - and the artwork on the walls is of ‘neighborhood art show’ quality (surprising given that it’s on the doorstep of Mass MOCA).
Delicious food and really pleasant experience. We really liked our very friendly server (don't remember his name).
Food was delicious. My husband said his tuna was the best piece of tuna he’d eaten in ages. The drinks were interesting and tasty and the service was great. All details including the warm, crusty bread to frequent water refills were well looked after. Great date place.
It was a slow night in late December...maybe 5 tables occupied while we dined. The service was excellent, friendly and unrushed. We both enjoyed our dinners (duck breast with lingon berries. Fantastic chicken liver mousse appetizer. Good wine selection. Very reasonable prices.
We love Gramercy for special evenings out. Last night we were celebrating my wife's birthday. Food was excellent, and our server, Megan, couldn't have been more attentive, on a cold midweek evening. Thanks
Gramercy—and Happy Holidays!
Lovely spot, great service and good food (crab cakes, scallops and sweetbreads were all done well) right in the Mass MoCA complex. Would definitely return.
Hip spot for a thanksgiving feast! Awesome plate of food and killer bisque. Go next year!
Nice brunch experience. Waiter was very attentive. Food very good. Good pre-museum brunch.
Delicious dinner option ten minutes from Williamstown in Mass MOCA building. Scallops, filet mignon, onion soup, spinach salad were all excellent, as were the desserts.
The food was tasteless - absolutely no seasoning of any kind. The service was indifferent, almost rude. The prices were too high for the quality of the food, service, and ambiance. Proximity to MoCA is the only thing going for this restaurant - anywhere else it would be out of business.
The four of us art lovers found ourselves at Gramercy Bistro for the first---but not the last---time. Starting with the superb bread (why can't all good restaurants realize what terrific heated bread does to the ambiance of a table?) through the next three course, we were delighted by each offering and had the attention of an excellent but not hovering waiter. If we lived in the area, we would be constant patrons.
Perfect! Wonderful filet and duck entrees. The house bordeaux was a perfect complement.
Food was very good.but service slow, not enough servers.
We just happened to be there when very large group was there. But we have been there when it was quiet.
We love the food and preparations are innovative but tasty. We like going there after a visit to MassMoCA.
Food--a chicken dish and a vegetarian pasta--was very good (dessert--a key lime tart--was excellent!). Wine--the only pinot noir available by the glass--was average/poor, and water tasted strongly of chlorine. Service was excellent--it was post-Labor Day and we were one of two couples in the restaurant. Location is next to the Mass MoCA and there is extensive free parking.
We've been to Gramercy Bistro twice and it's been excellent each time. Don't miss the crab cakes, they are done in a fantastic wasabi sauce.
Dinner at Gramercy is always enjoyable. The food is predictably delicious and well prepared.
I was so looking forward to bringing my friends there....I hadn't been in a couple of years. The service was terrible (we waited for over an hour for our food and that made us late to the concert at massMoCA at 8PM) The food was passable. I was truly shocked at the experience. I had remembered truly delicious food and a lovely time there. I will not be returning.
The food was delicious, friends who travel and eat well thought it was excellent. We had 6:15 dinner reservations, and concert tickets at Mass MOCA at 8 pm, one minute away, and barely made it. Our entres arrived at 7:40. Who knows? Would go back in any case.
We chose to have dinner here because we were going to a concert at MassMOCA and we would happily come back just for dinner. The environment was quiet and pleasant; the food was delicious.
Great food nice atmosphere. Service was impeccable. Highly recommended
Restaurants attached to museums are often a disappointment but not Gramercy Bistro. The service and delicious food as well as the warm atmosphere made for a special evening. It’s worth a special trip. Incidentally Mass MOCA is also a treat.
Unmemorable meal. Nothing unusual about this place. Server was pleasant.
Great food & excellent service! We went for dinner & for Sunday brunch and had great food & service both times this past weekend.
Great place to have a special dinner. The service was excellent and the food wonderful. Sesame Tuna was perfectly cooked and the Apricot Crème Brule with a lavender-shortbread cookie was not only different but great.
Overall an excellent meal and I would return. Started with the caprese salad which was very good. For entrees we had the schnitzel which was excellent and the paella which was very good but the seafood was slightly overdone.
We arrived just as the restaurant was opening for dinner. After a full day at the museum, we were exhausted so it was wonderful to be in a beautiful quiet restaurant. We ordered a salad and the paella (one of our most favorite dishes). The waitress was charming and when asked about the blue cheese in the salad, she told us how the chef insists on importing it from France. It was the most amazingly delicious cheese. And then the paella was served; it really tasted better than our expectations.
Food was outstanding. Slow service, but attentive once at your table, they seem understaffed.. such a wonderful dinner it didn’t really matter.
Attending event at MassMOCA and restaurant conveniently located. Food is well prepared and flavorful. Staff is attentive and provided good recommendations.
Yes. I liked the menu. The execution of the duck breast was below standards. I ordered rare. I got medium
rare to medium. The flaccid/soft texture seemed like the frying pan or the grill were not pre-heated to get a sear on the outside and a controlled doneness inside.
The recipe for the tomato vegetable soup was like Campbell's, but hopefully homemade.
Usually better than this visit. Seemed understaffed on the slower night of a busy weekend. Some service lags. Disappointing filet mignon and slight off taste to the skate wings. No egg in Caesar salad - relatively flavorless. Enjoyed wiener schnitzel a la Holstein, but spaetzle overcooked. Crab cake was very good.
Excellent food and great atmosphere. Service was pretty slow though.
a wonderful way to end a day at Mass MOCA is to have dinner at the Gramercy Bistro.
We were driving through on the way home to Boston from the Berkshires, and are so sad that this place is too far to go back on a regular basis! We had brunch there and were thoroughly impressed with the menu, the food we got, and everything we saw on other peoples’s plates around us. The drinks were really tasty too. Would love to go again soon!!
