We stayed at the Granada & loved the experience. The restaurant was just so-so for us. I ordered the short ribs which were a bit over-salted for me & could have been served hotter. My husband had the ribs which were tasty & fell off the bone. Both our vegetables were unfortunately over done 🤷🏻♀️
We sat outside on the patio - lovely setting. Nice wine list with local options. Hummus starter very good, nice texture and flavor with roasted garlic pieces. We order Brussel sprouts a lot and really enjoyed the creativity in their version with goat cheese, dried cherries and mustard seed. My husband and I enjoyed the lamb burgers but they were medium not medium rare as the waitress said the chef recommends. Our daughter had the soba noodles and they were extremely spicy. She was hungry and tired so she choked them down but did not enjoy. It's a shame because the ingredients looked nice and fresh. We told the waitress and she said it depends on who's cooking and can the heat can be quite variable.
It is my favorite place to eat in SLO. Extremely delicious and wonderful atmosphere
Great food, great ambience with wonderful staff & exceptional service. Truly enjoyed our first experience having brunch there. Price is very reasonable.
Will definitely be recommending and going back there when in town.
Wine choices all expensive, could use some lower price points.
They were out of the first two things I asked for, but other than that everything was very good. The waiter was new to the job it seemed yet was accommodating
great food and service! luca was very helpful too :)
Generally Granada is one of my favorite places in SLO: great service, great food, nice atmosphere. With the paucity of good brunch options, this is a regular place for my husband and I.
This week brunch service wasn't so good. We had deviled eggs to start, which lacked seasoning, acid, or much flavor. I ordered hot black tea (which I've ordered many time), which got a blank look, and I was then brought four bulk bags of tea by my server to show me what they had (which was quite odd). All were herbal. A simple "we are out of black tea at the moment" would have sufficed.
Our mains were good, the the side portions were quite small (I counted 9 tiny strips of fried plaintain on my plate). It was delicious, but I was left wondering if they were running out in the kitchen.
The last dinner meal I ate there was also not very satisfying. I had the 'spring fettucine pasta', which was overcooked and just kind of a heavy mess in terms of the plate and flavors.
I know restaurants are struggling right now for lots of reasons. I really like Granada and have been a fan since they've opened and want them to continue to be a great place for a delicious meal. I want that to continue to be the case.
Excellent food. Service was slow but very friendly. I suspect that they are understaffed like most restaurants are today. Worth the wait.
One of the best restaurants in SLO, they have amazing food!
Outdoor dining. Lovely atmosphere, great food and presentation. Our server was terrific!
Just a really nice place for a bite and a drink. Is quiet enough to talk and still have a good time with friends.
Margarita, Brussel Sprouts, Truffle Fries, Chicken pasta were delicious ! Not so much with the Ribs & Baked Beans.
Fantastic service, creative menu and plenty of exploration available. Recommend for couples and small gatherings off good friends. Wine list was fun to choose from. Would go back esp. staying at the property hotel.
This was our second visit with exactly the same meals and the ribs were dry and Brussel sprouts served with a spoonful of raw garlic over them that was over powering! The hummus was great but the naan, a little over cooked & greasy. Service was great but food wise I think it was just an off night! We also asked for our beans to be wrapped for take away and did not receive them.
Was disappointed with their lamb burger:
Over cooked so very dried even with side ingredients
We had a lovely anniversary dinner. The ambiance is intimate and food is great. Good options for mocktails if you don’t drink alcohol.
Gorgeous evening on the patio. Always fun to try new cocktails: SloDown watermelon martini was very fresh, FreshStart was a little sweet and dense, Kentucky Colonel was spicy and delicious. The roasted beet and carrot appetizer was beautiful and tasty. Loved the pepito “brittle” on top but found the pesto overpowering for the natural sweetness of the roasted veggies. Lamb burger arrived in teetering glory, perfectly cooked, with a slab of ripe heirloom tomato and great balance of condiments. Our soba noodle dish was spicy and fresh and going down fast when we realized there actually were no noodles in it! That was pretty funny. The waiter immediately made us a new one. Peanut butter pie was not my favorite. Good place and fun architectural elements for me to gaze at.
The menu did not reflect the food. The tequila shrimp was too hot with habanero pepper, did not say it on the menu.
The roasted chicken with yogurt purée and roasted peppers again on the hot side.
The BBQ ribs just average not slow cooked.
The roasted short ribs was the only entree that was worthy of good from the local wine region.
Service was not the most helpful or pleasant.
Would not recommend. Too many other better local restaurants.
Best breakfast ever. Eggs Benedict is my favorite thing in the world. Best bacon, best potatoes, best hollandaise sauce, best cocktails. I’d eat there 4x a week if they were open during the week.
Great place to eat and great atmosphere. We would highly recommend.
First time and it was awesome. The only thing I felt an issue was I had a reservation but did not get seated until 34 minutes later. Not that big of a deal. Was worth the wait. Overall we had an amazing time.
Over the course of our 90 minute meal/linger we were hit with heavy cigar smoke about every 20 minutes -- but no one on the wait staff could find (or would investigate) it's source. While the food was good, the cigar ruined our otherwise enjoyable time together. If a resolution was found, I would have a better review. But, apparently the wealthy patrons in the private room were allowed to smoke cigars and destroy our fine dining.
Great food….great atmosphere….enjoyed the evening.
Visiting from out of town. My wife is family with Kim.
One of the most beautiful outdoor settings in San Luis Obispo County. I love the food & drink, but the ambience brings the experience to the next level. Fantastic date night.
nice bistro, very limited menu, speaker blaring loud music over our head, was promised seating at center fire pit, they had no record
Warm and relaxing environment. We ate on the upper patio and it was very romantic
I would classify it as a bar with an exceptional beverage program and an ambitious food program that falls a little short.
Great experience…..food, drinks and ambiance. We loved it!
The restaurant is associated with the hotel in a charming brick building. The decor was lovely. The staff was helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. We especially loved the strawberry/peashoot salad - original and delicious.
Dark romantic classic old world ambience. Small but thoughtfully curated wine list. Great cocktails. Had the Crop Top, precise and refreshing. Strawberry/snap pea salad and borracha shrimp were very tasty. Great Moroccan spiced lamb burger that went perfectly with the Jean Louis Chave Hermitage. Special thanks to Chuck for the gracious service. Can’t wait to come back.
Always a great experience. One of my favorite places for dinner and drinks.
Good. Loved it! Highly recommend. Will definitely be back!
The ambience was beautiful in the outdoor courtyard, unfortunately that’s where the compliments stop. We ordered the Brussels Sprouts, which were over cooked to the point of almost burnt, the Caesar salad which was an ample portion and OK, and the roast chicken which on the menu sounded fabulous, but when we received it it was so spicy it was almost inedible, and the chicken seemed slightly undercooked so we didn’t finish it (skin was soft and mushy, and meat was translucent in some areas). We realize the chicken was listed with Harrissa which normally would be fine if used in a moderate amount, but this was doused in it - you couldn’t really taste anything else. The service was slow, and the waitress pouring our wine must have poured out at least a half glass on the table. We are disappointed because the reviews on Opentable were pretty good - maybe it was an off night, or maybe we just ordered the wrong stuff.
Relaxing outdoor seating by the gas fire pit, and a wonderful bar. The food is wonderful, and the staff is friendly, helpful, and efficient.
The ambiance is exactly what you want for a nice dinner out. One of the best burgers I've ever had, short ribs were cooked to perfection. Drinks were balanced and delicious, and the service was great! Can't wait to come back.
Best cocktails in town.
We had brunch - patio was a bit toasty should have sat indoors! Food and drinks great. I visited on my walking food tour so had to return. Just so you know that works!
We ate here for my husband’s birthday. We started with the beet and carrot salad which was amazing and the Parmesan truffle house fries which we will probably never get again. The fries were greasy and not fully cooked. Seemed a bit soggy actually. I wanted oysters, but they were out at 5:45pm at the time of our reservation, so that was disappointing. My husband had the short rib for dinner and I had the ahi tartare and both were amazing. We each had a cocktail and my husband opted for a slice of the peanut butter pie. Our bill was over $200, so it’s a bit pricey but we knew it would be. We sat outside and luckily it was a nice evening.
