Hakkasan - San Francisco
Group of friends celebrating our 50th Birthday.
Definitely top notch, great food & great service!
Ambiance and decor are superb!
Service is strange and pretentious, just overall off key. Food is subpar from what you would expect from a Cantonese restaurant.
Seems like trendy place that now passé
Place not as clean as it should be
Awesome awesome awesome.... BEST Asian! Hardest part is trying to decide what to order as EVERYTHING WAS Fabulous! Loved it!
Loved the restaurant ambience, amazing food and great service. The servers really take care of allergies and the food is just to die for.
Had a reservation and the server called me by name from being seated. Such a pleasant experience from start to finish with this staff. Kudos!
Very slow service
The food is definitely outstanding but I was surprised about service quality. I booked a table almost a month ahead and we were given not a cozy table. We asked to change it but was told that it's not possible. Also, I didn't like that nobody was paying attention to our table and we called waiters all the time. One more thing, sofas is outdated, it was not comfortable to sit at all.
I love dim sum and try it whenever possible - this place has THE BEST DIM SUM I've ever had.
It was great!
This is the third time I have been at Hakkasan in San Francisco. Whilst I was the one highly recommending it to the group coming here, the food was really below average and not to be expected for this price. The ambience, cocktails and overall atmosphere was great. However the food has to be good and this time it was a disappointment. Amongst our order was mapo taufu and Shanghaj dumplings. Both where tasting below average. I think this will be the last time I come here.
This was truly a magnificent experience. The vegetarian dim sum was so delicious we ordered a 2nd order! The combination of flavors was unique and literally mouth watering in each and every course. My friends had the duck and they could not believe how tasty it was. If you want a truly special evening go.
Been eating here since this place opened. My recent meal was very disappointing. The dimsum, duck salad, ribeye, sea bass, and the pea shoots were meh. The truffle noodles were disgusting. Our cocktails and wine were reasonable. The place used to be crowded, bustling, and had extremely fresh ingredients — not any more. I will not return.
After decades of trying Chinese restaurants in San Francisco, there is simply no other Chinese restaurant in the same league with Hakkasan. My favorite dishes here are Truffle braised noodles, Mongolian style lamb chops, Hakka noodle, Stir-fried udon noodle, Pipa duck, Black truffle roasted duck. But we've had many other dishes here and every one is extraordinary!
Very fresh and interesting take on Cantonese food - much recommended.
Amazing food and the Buddha’s palm cocktail was divine!!!!
We had a lovely evening at Hakkasan SF. A friend recommended the restaurant and we loved it! Our waiter was very attentive and helped us with our drink and food selections. Everything was unique & delicious!
Our second visit and everything was as great as our first visit.
Very expensive for a very average experience. There were no "wow!" meals. The Pipa duck was the best entrée, but nothing special. The stir-fried ribeye disappointing. This is an over-hyped restaurant.
Not what I've expected compared to Mott and other high end Chinese restaurants. I think they can do better on the food for the price you pay. The fried rice was soggy. The presentation was okay nothing wow my guest which is unfortunate.
We had an exceptional lunch.
It was simply “amazing” .... Service was extremely attentive, food quality outstanding , will definitely return, soon! Kudus to Management - definitely shows great teamwork, leadership and overall great vibe in the restaurant !
45 minutes wait to get a waiter to our table for our drinks and food order! Unacceptable when you pay over $100 per person!
We ordered the duck rolls for an appetizer which were very good. We then waited requested for a bit of time to order our main course and I dont think the waiter was too pleased with that, which was a little disappointing. Anyway, we then ordered the chicken sanpei (forgive the spelling) which was absolutely ordinary! We also ordered the Lamb chops (4 per plate) half of which were absolutely wonderful, exquisite and cooked to perfection, the other half was slightly burnt, over cooked and difficult to chew. We also got the hakka noodles, which i loved bu the smoky burnt flavor was a bit much for my partner who did not eat the noodles. For desert we got the chocolate pot, which looked amazing, presentation was outstanding and the flavor was exceptionally ordinary and left a lot to be desired. Our server seemed a little condescending and that was also disappointing, but overall not that much of a bother, but would have been nice to be paid attention to (we waited for a good 15-20 minutes to get our desert order in). Overall it was a good evening, but I am not sure it was worth the money. I know for a fact that for the price I can find quite a few better spots in a city like SF.
Great dim sum! I would definitely come back here.
Food bland. Was hoping for more authentic flavor.
One of the most reliable and sexy restaurant in the City. I would go 7 days a week if I could.
Overall, a very experience. The food and service were great.
Great Restaurant / Vibe and Food! Service was excellent too!
The food was good, but I wouldn’t rave about it. The dim sum was the best part of the meal. My cocktail, Old Fashion w/ cedar smoke was well balanced. The biggest disappointment was the best service from the moment we walked in. The hostess wasn’t inviting at all, she looked at us when we walked in and said “Hi” and just started at us. I told her we have a reservation w/ our name and she printed a ticket and handed it to the guy next to her. I looked at her like AND? She responded follow him he’ll seat you. The server seemed uninterested in his job. It was our first time there so we asked for suggestions. He pretty much recommended all the items with the * next to them which were the popular items. Well obviously we knew that. We felt rushed to order but our food came out very quickly. Our entree came before we even got our drinks. We had to ask after we got our appetizer if we can put in our drink order. He never checked on us when we had our entrees, I wanted a glass of wine but he never returned until he saw our plates cleared. We were still hungry after our dim sum sampler, 2 entrees, and a side. We asked what else would he recommend trying that wouldn’t be too heavy but a nice choice to try. He said the duck salad. Really? That what you got from not heavy. He seemed annoyed by our questions and had no personality whatsoever. After that we didn’t see him ever again. Another guy seemed to take over our table from there on. He was much more attentive but when we asked for the dessert menu they just brought out my husbands bday dessert. We had to ask can we still see a dessert menu? Nothing sounded good. We were disappointed at that point and just wanted to leave. We were celebrating my husbands 30th and it was a let down. All in all we spent $260 w/ tip. We’ve had many fantastic meals for cheaper, what blows is that we were celebrating a special occasion that ultimately got ruined by our restaurant choice and expectations.
Expensive but wonderful food!
Muy buena, buen servicio y ambiente. Un poco ruidoso pars mi gusto. Comida buena, muy bien decorado, amables en general
We all enjoyed our dinner at Hakkasan in SF! Our server was very attentive. All the food we ordered were very delicious including the pricey Peking Duck which was so worth it.
We were sitting at a corner table and gave us a chance to enjoy chatting with everyone .
I highly recommend Hakkasan!
The service was truly memorable. The gentleman who led service for our table was highly attentive and engaging with us. It transformed the experience.
Food was consistently beautifully prepared.
The entire experience was fantastic from the ambiance to the service to the food. Took my family their on our trip to San Fran and it was a perfect meal.
Best Chinese food I’ve had. Food was so flavorful. Will definitely go again next time I’m in the city.
Food and service was excellent. Would recommend this place to family and friends!
We went to Hakkasan on a whim, and Elliot, our server, was so great about explaining the menu and helping us identify what we would like. It’s so awesome to have a server who tried the menu and can explain why he likes something over another. The timing of the food, the drinks and ther taste and quality of everything was consumed was great. Go there when you’re ready to experience a great meal and drop A pretty penny- it’s worth it to be open to everything.
We will be back!
I like this place. Just the noise level is too high...
The food wasn’t good. I heard good things but our experience with food quality was pretty bad
