Love this casual classy Hanger Steak Restaurant Great service and love the atmosphere. Menu selections are awesome. Love watching the planes taken off and land while sipping a glass of wine (or two) 🥰
Food was excellent. Service on the other hand was horrible. Server didn’t approach me until after 23 mins. He came to my table without any introduction and asked, “have you decided?”. I placed my drink and food orders. He didn’t bring the wine until after 20 mins. He then brought the appetizer and salad together. I asked why he’s bringing them together as they are separate courses. He took back the salad and promptly brought it back after I finished my appetizer course. When he brought the entree, he didn’t bring as requested. I asked for medium rare and it was brought medium. I asked for bearnaise and au poivre sauce but forgot the bearnaise to which I had to request from him. Overall, the service was not up to Marriott standards or for any restaurant standards. I understand that tonight is Thanksgiving and they are busy. However, it’s still not a reason to provide disservice and whether it’s a holiday evening or a normal night, service should be consistent and managers are there to assist if their waitstaff is falling behind and are in the “weeds”.
Great location but the food was just ok. The waiter did his best to serve us. It was ok.
Vacation and last evening before flying out
This has always been our favorite " before you fly out" dinner / overnighter. The Hangar, you disappoint--
The meal was good, but compared to other similar priced steakhouses it did not match the others.
When we visit San Francisco we almost always stay at the Marriott before our flight back east. Even after experiencing some of the best food in the Bay Area, Hangar Steak has never failed to please. The service is excellent, and the view of the runway is engaging at the right time in the evening. The ciopinno has been on the menu for many years, and is always wonderful-and loaded with fresh seafood. Chowder in a sourdough bread bowl is a tradition. There are a few nice Korean dishes on the menu.
Waiter was horrible, he could only pay attention to one thing for one table at a time. Food was average, and because the chef and waiter forgot the horseradish for a steak we waited over 10 mins to start eating. The only time the waiter checked on us was AFTER we were signing our checks. Never during the actual meal. Food price is not worth the quality. Only thing that made up for the meal was the view of the water and airplanes taking off and landing at SFO.
Would recommend for a business meal due to location (in the hotel), good ambiance for business discussion. The food I ordered was good (not great) but pricey.
Food is was not good. Staff was amazing. The place was as cold as an ice box. Needed 2 jackets. So loud I couldn’t hear the persons next to me.
Lovely view of the bay and planes at SFO. Good waitstaff and helpful host. Our meal was very nice. Just not used to hotel prices. The decor was pretty ordinary. A somewhat cold space( not the temperature)

Food was nice. Steak overcooked first time and took 15 minutes to get a steak that takes 4 minutes to cook. Server was totally out of his element. Spaced out and not attentive to our table.
Everything is good and wonderful. The view looking San Francisco Bay is outstanding.
Great ambience and intimate. Value of the menu is questionable. Example: On a $45 steak entree, there are ridiculous surcharges for sides that normally come with at other comparable places. If you want mashed potatoes or vegetables on the side, they are extra $10.
Also, dinner standard breads are not even offered and are extra if asked. Would still go back for cocktails or drinks for the great view and ambience.
Waiters need to pay more attention to customers. Overall meet the minimum requirement.
It was just ok...didn't love it. Very nice people and service but seemed like a typical hotel restaurant..
We started by splitting the harvest salad. For entrees, my wife had the cioppino and I had the ribeye steak medium well.
She liked the harvest salad and her only criticism of the cioppino was that it had potatoes, something not traditionally put in cioppino.
I thought my steak was terrible! It was tough, very dried out, and hard to cut. This is completely contrary to the restaurant's advertising of their steaks, both online and on their menu. Their advertising states that their steaks are cornfed, prime, and aged. I can say unequivocally that my ribeye steak wasn't cornfed or prime. Moreover, I don't believe it was a real ribeye steak, since ribeye steaks have marbleing (i.e., fat content) throughout which make them tender and juicy. Mine had fat at one edge and the rest of my steak had none.

Our first mother’s day was the reason we’ve been going to this place every year (since 2010). Over the years, it’s gone from a glamorous event to a below average one, with quality and variety of food suffering (not to mention the price increasing).
If it wasn’t for the tradition of going there since my daughter was born, we would have avoided this place for Mother’s Day.
Took too long to get our food. It was not cooked correctly and was too much money for what we got. Would never back for lunch
My daughter had the Caesar salad, the salad had too much dressing, to the point that the lettuce didn’t feel fresh and crunchy.
The kids hamburger was a joke, it would be better to have I solid hamburger than two tiny buns with even a smaller size hamburger in it.
I was disappointed with my fillet mignon, my husband makes it better!
My husband had the chicken and it was good.
The gentleman who served us was really nice and polite.
All in all, we won’t be coming back.
Very good food but could be staffed a bit more. Staff was great but you could see they were a bit undermanned
People who could afford it and do mention low salt if you don’t like salty diet.
Food was overpriced and disappointing. Salad was brown and bitter. Really disappointing.
This was one of the more delicious meals we've had in a while. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, and everything was timed perfectly. It's a nice place to be able to have a conversation.

Great place for a date - nice energy, not loud or crowded and able to enjoy great conversation with my wife. We had the BLT salad with goddess dressing (shared one and was the right portion for each). I ordered the filet which was perfect, exceptionally seasoned and seared with a fantastic finish. I paired my steak with the sun dried tomato and scalloped mashed potatoes and lobster mac and cheese... The best steak dinner I've had (my wife second's that notion 👍👍).

Confusion at reception regarding where I requested to be seated. Then server confusion or more to the point, no server at all at first, no complimentary bread and oil, etc, after requested balsamic vinegar, confusion as to whether they had any balsamic vinegar , balsamic vinegar, really!!!!???
Food was good if you want a quiet dinner and then go watch planes taking off or landing, as the restaurant is opposite the SFO runway in Burlingame.
Not sure given the high prices at the restaurant that the location is situated correctly. The restaurant should be in a Four Seasons or something similar, it’s a bit off putting that it’s around the back of a Marriott Hotel.
Third time here and food was very good again.
We come every year to this restaurant for an annual get together of 6 friends. We always enjoyed the Hangar restaurant in the actual restaurant. This year on Saturday lunch was in the atrium.
We prefer the actual restaurant setting. It is a more warm setting and comfortable for visiting and relaxing for a couple of hours.
Hope Saturday lunch will return to the actual restaurant when we return next year.
Food was good (except the inconsistently cooked carrots). Service was good (nothing special). Nothing special about the ambiance, and noise level was moderately loud. The meal was overpriced, but given it was Christmas it was expected.
Horrible! Super slow service. Tough steak, over cooked halibut, skimpy portions. We went for Christmas. Never again!!! Not worth the 261.00 price tag for 4 people that left hungry.
Christmas Eve dinner. Our waitress seemed to be new and our orders were confused. We asked for a second round of drinks but one of my guests was forgotten. We ordered a baked potato but was served sweet potato. I think she was overwhelmed.
