Harbor Mist Restaurant
We enjoyed our lunch. We had two elderly people in our party and they were treated with kindness.
Harbor Mist never disappointed. The best restaurant in our area, as far as I am concerned. Beautiful setting, service, food, prices, ambiance, quiet.....everything is just what you want in a nice restaurant.
Four of us. Everyone's appetizers and salads were great. Alkaline the mains were good except mine. I had the pork chop with cherry peppers. The pork chop was so dry and tough that you
Really disappointed in this. Did not realize we would be fully immersed in over-the-top Christmas ambiance, food was small quantities and presentation was less than impressive. Served tuna taco appetizer on a c-fold paper towel? Really? Very underwhelmed.
We've done Thanksgiving dinner here for a number of years. Not that easy to find a restaurant that is open on Thanksgiving, so happy we can go to Harbor Mist. It's always been a pleasant experience. Food is good, although the turkey dinner could have been hotter. I suspect it is a challenge to get hot food to every table on a busy holiday. That's probably my only criticism.
Harbor Mist was warm and welcoming. We had Thanksgiving dinner and it didn’t disappoint. Nice wine selection and generous portions.
We loved the 50%off Mondays. We enjoyed everything we ordered. We especially enjoyed the mussels appetizer and the shrimp entree. The scallops were delicious as was the salmon. We were too full for dessert.
We will return!
Nice atmosphere, wait staff was courteous, food is mediocre at best. I don't know what it is with places on or near the water, but for the most part it seems that the proprietors think the view is enough and the food quality is not important.
I had the Chicken Picata special and it was anything but special! The chicken was dry, tough and a color I don't think has yet been named. I buried the chicken under the overcooked pasta and essentially left most of it behind. It is a shame because the restaurant is attractive with a great view of Cold Spring Harbor. I guess my quest to find that rare restaurant with a beautiful water view and a meal worth paying for will continue.
It was our first time there and found it to be excellent all around! Starting fro the hostess greeting us and giving us some history of the restaurant and building. The ambiance, food and service was exceptional !!!!
Great location overlooking the marina. Monday advertising 50% off on food. Ordered clam chowder, New England very good, and Scallops, good but not exceptional. Wife ordered lentil soup, good, short ribs, good. Bill came and tip included was 32%. When questioned, pointed to specials sheet informing of 50% discount on food and gratitude included at 18% of original price. I did not review the specials sheet, only saw the board out front and from the web site. Paid it, but would suggest placing information regarding included gratitude on the regular menu, website, and restaurant board.
Was disappointed in the preparation of their signature dish - pork chop with cherry peppers. Both myself and a guest thought it should have been grilled/char marks, but it almost looked like it was boiled, and lacked flavor. The peppers and potatoes had all the flavor. My wife ordered the linguini noodle, which she typically loves to eat, but felt it was so-so. Appetizers were small portions but relatively pricey. We had a combination of the clams oreganata, burrata, and Thai calamari. Fortunately, there is a nice ambiance to the place, but there are many better restaurants around if you enjoy food.
The food was nice, prompt service, enjoyable dining experience
Service was exceptional however all three fish filets ordered were overcooked (salmon and two orders of halibut) Was very disappointed as I brought out of town family there first time.
Very enjoyable! Great service! We’ll be back.
Love, love, love Harbor Mist. The most consistently wonderful dining experience around!!!
Went for our anniversary but they didn’t really help celebrate it. Other than that it was all good.
Nice restaurant with pretty water views and great service. Everyone enjoyed their meal, especially the sawed fish special.
The food is excellent. Part of what I enjoy about this restaurant is the beautiful view of the water from the windows of the restaurant, particularly the second floor. I requested to be seated upstairs and was told they were unable to accommodate my request. It happens. The shades in all the windows of the ground level were closed which eliminated any glimpses of the scenery and created a dark atmosphere. No music which made it seem like there wasn’t much privacy and I could hear the entire conversation of the couple next to me during dinner. The hostess did offer to move our table away from a large party which was appreciated. The food was excellent. Service was average. Would still recommend.
First time at the Harbor Mist. Food was very good. Service overall was good...only one slight blip with our order but it turned out fine. We will be back.
Delicious food, beautifully served. Excellent service and a magnificent experience all around. Love Michelle’s desserts too.
Very delicious lunch and bubbly rose! Thank you!
Excellent all around
The view was beautiful and the atmosphere lovely. The food was good but not great. All of this was brought down a level due to the slow service. From the time of ordering we waited 45 minutes for our lunch. The restaurant was not crowded, so I cannot blame it on that , nor were our orders complicated at all. Regular brunch items. We asked after 30 minutes what the status of our order was and the waiter (in not such a nice way) said that the food is made to order and it is normal to take 20-30 minutes for it to arrive. Honestly, at what restaurant outside fast food is the food NOT made to order? And 20 minutes ok, but 45 NOT ok! With no offer of anything...we even had to ask for some more bread as we were quite hungry. The most complicated item ordered was a grilled chicken sandwich. Not worthy of a 45 minute wait, no matter how nice the view and atmosphere.
Always a Great Place to go. The food is a amazing, and the Staff also.
Everytime my family dines here we are delighted with the variety of delicious options. You must try the thai calamari, Duo crab cake, chicken parm, and linguine with clams. Bottomline you will never be disappointed with any of Chef Ramone's cuisine. The entire staff is very friendly, attentive, and accommodating.
Fantastic restaurant from food to staff to ambiance
2nd time there. Food was delicious. Service was a little slow. Might have been our server because others got served a little quicker. A little noisy but the view is beautiful and food very good.
Enjoyed our birthday dinners. Food and service were very good.
Food was excellent. Waiter needed to act like he cared, assistant server/busser was awesome. Definitely will go again.
It was wonderful & delicious!
Delicious food, wonderful view, great service. Would highly recommend for both dinner and brunch.
The food was delicious. The half price menu was great. The service was a little disappointing. I feel like since the tip was built in already we were rarely checked in on.
It was a magical evening as we sat facing the harbor and watched the sun set. Thank you so much for a great evening
Great service and beautiful views. Food delicious and expensive but half off on monday
The services was very slow we waited ...not to many gluten free options seemed like I was bothering her. Service was very vey very slow. Not professional.
Food for price was so-so. I asked for a window seat for our anniversary wasn't honored & there was empty space in the restaurant. I wouldn't go back or recommend.
Overall a great experience with a beautiful view
Had a large reunion party going on, should have closed the restaurant . recommendation for the house special over the daily special proved disappointing.
We keep coming back. Great food, great staff, great location.
Understaffed. Had to stand up to get the waitress to notice that we were there At one point we sat w dirty dishes on the table for very long time. Served my appetizer but forgot my husband’s. We asked for fresh pepper and it never arrived. We asked for a knife and it never arrived. They were just overwhelmed with the crowd and not enuf staff
Nice quiet place to catch up with friends. Great service.
