Our first time really out on a date in a long time. Our server, Danny, had a personality that will keep us coming back. Excellent recommendations on food pairing , drinks were delicious .

Diane was our waitress and she was absolutely GREAT!

We were celebrating my birthday and she truly made it extra special with her attention to detail. She was fun to talk with throughout our dining experience.

We plan to visit again with while restaurant week is still going on!, and will certainly request Diane again.

We had a great time. The food was awesome!

Lots of seafood fare on offer to choose from. Everything was very fresh and flavorful but not heavy on the palette. Enjoyed our meal very much.

Our first meal Out in almost a year! Felt very comfortable and safe. The food was wonderful and our service was outstanding. Nice to have a special night out again.

Wonderful evening and service. Oscar was one of the best waiters ever. Dinner was impeccable. The atmosphere was very well organized for the pandemic while remaining very classy and stylish. Again kudos to Oscar for great service and a wonderful evening out.

New Year’s Eve

Brian was great! Amazing paella and salmon!

I thought that $30/lb for lobster was high but it was excellent, sweet and tender. I ordered it steamed and was asked if I would like it taken out of the shell in drawn butter. I was in heaven ! My husband had a filet. He would have preferred a sirloin but he said that it was very good. I was surprised that they offered their regular menu on New Year's eve as well as numerous specials. The service was the best I've had in a while! It continues to be my favorite restaurant for a special night out.

Our Waitress was fantastic. She made you feel welcomed, & gave first class service.

Friendly greeting from parking garage to the entrance. Greeted and welcomed every step of the way. We were 10 minutes early for our 6:45 reservations and was seated immediately. Our server Diane was AMAZING from wine recommendations to dinner and dessert.
She visited our table which had an amazing views from the moment we sat as well as our surrounding tables. I can’t say enough on the friendly service we had. I will absolutely dine here again and can’t wait to try other dishes. We had crab cakes and they were amazing as well as scalloped wrapped in bacon. For dinner we both had the surf and turf special IT WAS FABULOUS

Great night out for dinner at Hemenway’s. It’s always out 1st choice.

Rhode Island style Calamari is excellent. Love it.

It was my husband’s birthday and a wonderful way to celebrate at Hemenway’s. He had the special, which was the paella and I had the scallops with pork belly. The dishes looked seemingly small but we were both stuffed by the end of the night. We also had a few cocktails shrimp that were extremely fresh.

We had made a reservation for 7:00 pm but we arrived early and they were happy to accommodate us and seat us early. We were greeted by our server, Oscar, who reviewed the specials with us and suggested drinks and offered a glass of iced water. We ordered the calamari appetizer which was absolutely delicious and seasoned well. My husband ordered 1/2 dozen oysters and 4 cocktail shrimp which he enjoyed. He had the surf and turf with a baked stuffed lobster and I had the filet, both of which were delicious. For my husband’s birthday, we were given a complimentary chocolate cake dessert (there were other options as well). Our experience was excellent, especially during COVID times which I was admittedly worried about.

Excellent choice. Great for a celebration; Holiday ambiance is magical. Brian was our server. We had a great time with him. Extremely attentive to ALL the details of a special dinner out in a lovely restaurant.

Everything was great with the food and service and I would definitely go back. We did however notice that there was a lot of gum under the table we sat. 🤢 also (this sounds nit picky but if you watch a lot of Gordon Ramsey then you know...) the waiter put food and plates down at our table that were meant for another table and picked it up and brought it to them instead of discarding it. There was also a fruit fly bothering us. Overall, we love hemenways but their food handling and cleaning routines made us question the cleanliness a little.

It's rarely a miss with Hemenways. Service was great, friendly, and the our lunch was great.

We were unsure about going out to celebrate our 5th Anniversary as we hadn't had a date since Valentine's Day. After careful consideration we chose Hemenway's and we brought our appetites. We felt safe with all precautions throughout our dining experience and appreciated all the extra touches. We expected the food to be great, but we were blown away. The food was outstanding. We truely enjoyed the tuna tartare, crab cakes, baked stuffed shrimp, paella, creme Brule and flourless chocolate cake. Our server, Leila was fantastic, very knowledgeable and attentive. We are already planning our next date at Hemenway's.

We sat at the bar and were treated incredibly well by the bartender, Herland. The lobster Mac & Cheese was to die for!

I went to your restaurant for my 35th Anniversary because it came up as the number 1 restaurant in RI for seafood. First we were seated in the corner next to the door which was very cold. We were served stale bread and warm water. My husband ordered a 2 1/2 pound stuffed lobster ( I called 15 minutes prior and told them he was looking for a 3 lb lobster and was assured they had them which they were actually out of). I ordered a 2 lb stuffed lobster. Our green bean were hard and we were very surprised that Hemmingways actually used instant potatoes which was very disappointing. Our server wasn't very friendly and I felt that we "inconvenienced" her with our requests (ice for the water and fresh bread) I thought to myself that I should have mentioned that it was our 35th Anniversary and maybe she would have been a little more attentive but I was shocked to see before we were going to leave she came over with a hard piece of cheese cake that was for our "Anniversary" I then realized that it was in fact already mentioned and we still received terrible service. I think they should definitely not mislead the public in thinking they are an upscale and quality restaurant. When I tell ppl of our experience I get the same reply "you shouldn't have gone there".

Food and service were excellent. Unfortunately due to limited dining space (which really did not look that way in the main restaurant) we were seated in a function room of the restaurant. Restaurant is very well lit, this room was very dark and had no ambience at all which would be appropriate for large functions or meetings. And I thought I had made reservations well in advance to be seated here.

Appetizers, entrees, dessert, drinks were very good. And our waitress was excellent!

Outstanding food - from apps to dessert and outstanding service as well!
