Always a pleasure. We were there for a family gathering. Server (Erin) could not have been more attentive and professional. She also provided us with several outstanding wine recommendations. Everyone was enthusiastic about their meals. We had a truly wonderful evening. Looking forward to the next time
Food was excellent. Service was friendly and helpful but not overbearing and we felt like we could stay and enjoy ourselves as long as we wanted
I met three friends here for lunch. It was my first time at Ivy. The crab cake entree was delicious and packed with crab meat (can’t say that about some other restaurants’!). Enjoyed the great service and the very lovely ambience.
Excellent food and service! Perfect for our anniversary dinner!
Super meal! Everyone loved their choices.Tomahawk pork chops were excellent! Crab cake dinner and New York strip steak drew rave reviews! Perfect service! Beautiful place.
We went to Ivy to celebrate my birthday. We went there for my birthday last year as well, and I had the Butternut Squash Ravioli, which was fantastic. I'd been looking forward to ordering the same dish this year. I was very disappointed when it didn't taste as good as last year. After eating a couple of ravioli, I noticed a lump in the sauce that wasn't a piece of squash. When I took a tiny bite of it, I realized it was bleu cheese!!! I cannot stand the flavor of blue cheese! I ate a couple more ravioli, avoiding the cheese lumps, before the server came. When I asked if there was bleu cheese she told me there was gorgonzola in it. When I told her I abhorred that cheese, she asked if she could get something else, but I had already eaten half of the dish so I declined. Why would a chef think that gorgonzola would be a good ingredient in Butternut Squash Ravioli?? Every person I've told about this says the same thing.
My husband ordered the pork chop. The chop was hot but the potatoes, apple slices, and sauerkraut were lukewarm so he sent his dish back. When he got it back, the pork chop was a little dried out, but the side dishes were very hot.
We will probably cross Ivy off of our list of restaurants that we enjoy in downtown Wheaton.
Our favorite restaurant in town! Never disappoints and always great food and service. Love it! Side courtyard dining is lovely when ivy is blooming. I always order the dessert flight for sweet Delightful tastes. Dianne
great food, unobtrusive table waiting, and ambience -- two visits, two 4-star experiences.
One of the coolest things is their lighted menus! No need to pull out your phone to try to read the menu in the dark. Besides the cool menu, everything else was great!
I ordered the Parmesan crusted salmon and chocolate mousse. Both exceeded my expectations. Our server was also fabulous. We will be back!
We loved it for lunch so much that we went back for dinner! We are trying to eat more vegetables and lean meats, and these guys know how to do that very well. Everything we ate was delicious, but we especially liked the spinach on the side - cooked perfectly!
The food was not very good. There appeared to be more focus on the chili cookoff happening in the afternoon than what was going on in the restaurant. Every single item had vinegar or wine on it. I would never have expected white wine on spinach or crab cakes. The bread, while warm, was served with rock solid butter - how can that even be spread? The filet was tough and looked like it was pounded into a flat iron steak. The fingerling potatoes were a combination of different types of potatoes which was odd to be eating blue/purple ones. It wouldn't have been so bad if all of these difference were on the menu - they were not.
My only complaint is that the green beans were cold...maybe pre-warming the plates would be an idea?
I like this place
Thanks to Suzanne for another wonderful experience.
If you are looking for a slow paced meal to enjoy conversation with friends, this is the place for you.
We had a lovely evening. Enjoyed the food and wine immensely.
Went to Ivys for a birthday lunch with my wife. As always, the food and service were absolutely great. We have never been disappointed here whether it is for lunch or dinner.
Ivy is one of our favorite places for a leisurely lunch or dinner. Food and service is always great.
This was the last Sunday Brunch for the year. The Brunch was $25, which I thought was reasonable. There were made to order omelets, scrabble eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, vegetarian lasagna, yogurt, fresh fruit, yogurt, and biscuits and gravy. The food was delicious. But, there was no Juice, no Bagels, no English Muffins and no Toast. I did not like the four cakes they offered for desserts; Lemon Poppyseed, Gingerbread, Dark Chocolate and I don't know the flavor of the fourth cake. They should have had some muffins, coffee cake, little doughnuts, and scones. I would have gladly paid more money for more variety.
We will definitely returning! Both of our meals were absolutely delicious (the honey chicken and the pecan crusted fish), and the atmosphere is so beautiful!
Food was FANTASTIC as usual!! ... we both had the Beer Can chicken for the first time, WOW!! ... highly recommend it!!
Tracy was our waitress and she was THE BEST!! .... very attentive without being intrusive, she definitely made the evening special!!
Food was great as always.
One of the most delicious meals I've ever had. And I eat out a lot! Todd was a great server.
Went with my best friend The minute we walked in you could feel warmth in so many pleasant ways. Our waiter was very observant and service was impeccable. Can’t wait to come back!
Food was excellent. Server tried to upsell us on wine. Beautiful room.
Selections were not overwhelming. We left very satisfied but not overstuffed. In spite of major street repairs, parking was easy.
Such a beautiful place.
Very good but loud talker was distracting!
Excellent in every way!
Recently had lunch @ Ivy’s. Everything was first rate, food, service & atmosphere
We love Ivy and brought our mom for a special bday celebration. She has never been there. Our waitress was horrible. Her service and timing was fine, but she was super crabby and rushed us. That has never been our experience at Ivy ! Too bad.
IVY never disappoints- came here for our 35th wedding anniversary and really enjoyed it. The service was superb and the the prime NY and lamb chops were very good. We enjoyed the roasted beet salad and had the sampler of all 4 desserts.
Appetizer took forever and was delivered cold. Was told it was a new appetizer and they learned how to make it on our order. Service was mediocre with waitress being somewhat inattentive. Meatloaf was built for appearance not for practical eating.
Excellent food quality. Very prompt and professional service. Prices were a little on the high side, but I would return there again.
Granted, I can be a tough critic, but I have had some incredible dining experiences that keep my expectations high. That said, I was eager to visit Ivy, as it's been on my list to try for a long time. When we arrived for our 10 am seating for brunch, 5 minutes early, they were still setting up. We were not seated until 10 minutes later, and then still needed to wait until all the brunch stations were up and running.
The atmosphere was good, plenty of space between tables, and cozy with the fireplace. The stained glass alcove was beautiful.
The food was just okay and there was nothing on the buffet that really wow'd me. I will say the orange juice was delicious!
The price was fair for a buffet, but I was unimpressed with the selection and left feeling that my overall experience was a little disappointing.
35th wedding anniversary
Very nice restaurant, nice ambiance, nice outdoor seating. Service was good but a little inattentive, slow to fill water, etc.. Presentation of food looked good but food was a little over cooked. All in all, a nice restaurant and worth attending. Might have been an off night, short of staff which had been common at a lot of restaurants.
Our server, Erin, was terrific! Had the black pepper shrimp. Great flavor, hard to eat. Salads and entrees were great. Kitchen made some small mistakes. Was supposed to get house potatoes and got mashed. Husband was supposed to get asparagus and got green beans. Large party upstairs so maybe kitchen was distracted by that. Didn't really bother us because food was good and service was great.
Had a calamari appetizer. Worst I've had in decades. Like eating old rubber bands. Nothing tender. Coating was very good. Dipping sauce was too strong! It overpowered the delicate taste of the calamari. Had whitefish for the meal. Fish was great. Fruit salsa on top conflicted with the fish. Better without it, or if it had a savory taste. Zucchini was uninspiring. Cooked nicely, but should have had a spice (even salt/pepper) or mild sauce. Potatoes were good, but also very mundane. Had a great beer, recommended by the waitress. Service and ambiance were great. Other diner with me had perch. Said it wasn't very good; would rate it average. Don't know details. I'd still recommend IVY, since I previously had a great meal there. Hope this was an aberration.
