Jonah's Seafood House
Great waitress only negative comments sitting over air vent and was very cold was my wife’s bday and appreciated the cake very much thanks
Great food and the best seafood in the Midwest. Best food we can get in our area . Not Florida but close
Nice atmosphere, good service, but the value was lacking. I had the Norwegian cod meal which came with a table spoon of red beans and two table spoons of white rice, the salad that was with the meal was very small. The cod once taken off the skin was enough to fill a 1/2 cup. Cost $ 17.99.
The food was delicious. We split the oysters rockafeller, clam chowder, and ceasar salad and then each got a meal. The scallops were perfect and the filet and crab were also delicious. Recommend!
I live in Florida, and have to say your flounder and cod with andouille sausage and portobello mushroom sauce is one of THE best fish dishes I’ve ever had. Our server was pleasant, friendly and efficient. The view of the river was awesome.....just wish I lived closer!!
Our server was fantastic and we loved the meal, service and atmosphere!
Another excellent meal at Jonah's. I had the evening special... swordfish with a garlic basil sauce. That was extortionary. That has become my go dinner when available!
Jonah’s is always great when it comes to seafood. We have gone there many many years.
Wonderful server. Always accommodating.
Always remarkable food. Worth the money. The seafood is always fresh.
excellent food & service as always. we were celebrating our 40th anniversary & couldn't have picked a better restaurant.
Excellent service and food....our favorite restaurant in Central Illinois
I was a little disappointed because some of my food was not even warm. My mashed potatoes were actually cold.
Family Reunion, 5 people, drinks $50 each w tip included. Medium steak done very well. W Oscar treatment was great.
Food was excellent. Calamari was so fresh and perfectly fried. Tuna and mahi mahi were both delicious, and the portions were large. Service was great too.
The food was good but our service was poor. Always waiting for a drink refill and had to ask for sweetener , shrimp sauce etx. Wish we had the waiter at the table next to us...he even refilled my ice tea. More friendly..Ours was never around
Food was tasty, atmosphere was comfortable, service time very reasonable
Food was excellent, only comment we had was our server assumed we did not want any change from our bills. Once we asked for change he gave it to us.
Good food. Good service. I will return next time I'm in Peoria.
Great seafood restaurant with lots of choices on the menu. Our server was very friendly, informative and attentive. After dinner we went next door to The Oyster Bar which was really nice too.
The food was next level incredible. Seafood as fresh and tasty as if you were in the Gulf Coast.
Desert was an explosion of yum.
Waitress was so sweet and had such a positive energy about her we felt like we were being served by a long time friend.
You folks have set a standard I have not seen matched anywhere else in Illinois.
The oyster bar bartender was just as amazing. All of them were the epitome of what a professional staff is. Wow! Just wow!
Early Mother’s Day.
For a Friday night, the restaurant was not very busy. Our water glasses were refilled only once... although our server was congenial, he was not very efficient. Our meals were acceptable.... but overpriced for a restaurant of that level. Dinners come with one side..... and if you want a vegetable or salad, too, they charge an additional $2.80. Ridiculous.... when you are paying $30 for a small piece of grilled fish and a baked potato. We probably won’t be back anytime soon.
First time there and we were quite impressed with the turn around time to get our food, which was excellent! It was crowded and our waitress had a lot to do, but she took care of us very efficiently.
Appetizers, drinks, and meals were very good. Seating upstairs had a strange odor and a bit chilly.
We ordered the Fresh Shellmans Tray appetizer. It was so good and every item was fresh.
My husband had the Filet Mignon and I had the Swordfish. The filet was prepared perfectly, super tender and my swordfish was light and fluffy with an amazing sauce that wasn’t over bearing. The drink I ordered was the Carmel Apple Manhattan. Although I liked it, probably wouldn’t order it again with my meal choice.
We love Jonah’s! Best seafood ever!!!
Great fried oysters & shrimp. Ryan A is a great server.
We had a wonderful day at Jonah's, great service, a beautiful view and delicious food. I would like to recommend the Reuben sandwich and fresh fruit plate for your next lunch. We've dined here on several occasions and can recommend their seafood as well, expertly prepared by their amazing chefs.
Jonah's is the best place for raw oysters, fried oysters and fresh fish. The sweet augratin potatoes are the best side. Save room for the chocolate cake; it will not disappoint!
The appetizers were very good and the correct amount for sharing. Main courses were good my fish was a little soggy but the flavor was excellent. The bananas foster need a lot less sauce, the amount of bananas was spot on and the flavor was right on the money. I will go back the next time in Peoria for dinner. This was the place to eat on Good Friday.
Went here for an anniversary with my wife. The place was nice and they sat up next to a window with a few of the river. I am usually not a fish eater but I had the halibut and it was delicious. The staff were decent seemed kind of uninterested in my table at time. But over all it was a really nice night. Will be going back for more special occasions.
We have eaten here several times and always enjoyed the food. This time the food was under seasoned and one of our party had scallops that tasted like the oil got too hot. Everything was still edible, and we’ll be going back, this just seemed like a one-off. The service at Jonah’s is always exceptional.
Celebrated my Mom’s 83rd Birthday and the restaurant put her name on the menu. Food was fabulous, had excellent fried oysters and fried calamari appetizers. The fried oysters were huge, perfectly prepared. The calamari had light breading and excellent flavor. I had perfectly seared Sea Scallops that were so fresh I didn’t want any sauce or butter to mask the flavor of the scallops. I also had a wonderful mixed green salad which contained many flavors, spinach, radicchio, arugula, dried cranberries, dried figs, tomatoes, black olives, walnuts, blue cheese crumbles and a wonderful tangy balsamic vinegairette. They gave my Mom a huge piece of luscious chocolate cake which was shared amongst 3 people. Very generous servings and great value for the quality of the food. The quality of the food, the attention to detail by our server and making my Mom feel extra special really means a lot to me. We definitely would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Peoria area. Also, make sure you stop by the market. They have excellent baked goods including fresh baked bread, carrot cake, cheese cake and chocolate cake. They also have a great fish, seafood and steak selection in the market.
Always a wonderful experience,
Great staff, great food.
Considering we have eaten here many times .... what a left over table. Disappointed.
Jonah’s is a consistently good place for seafood. Service is always good and the staff friendly.
Chowder was cold, salad plates were hot. Most of the dinners were overcooked (we had 12 people). We have found that lunch is consistently good and dinner is consistently bad. Third time disappointed. Will not return for dinner again.
Great grouper, best since being in Naples, FL
The bottle of wine was good.... The "Ono" fish I ordered was over cooked and dry. My wife ordered the fried oysters because the waitress said they where lightly breaded with panko. No so. I am not a food critic nor am I a foodie, I like good food. Not here not this night.
