Inconsistent service and food. Always dine there mid term not at the beginning when the students are getting used to the space.
Very good experience, good price for the quality, attractive décor and table arrangements. Servers and food prepares are obviously on a learning curve, but they did a good job and were knowledgeable about the food and wine. I will return.
Greeting, seating, service food from start to finish one will not be disappointed. IF there is an opening, grab it----you will experience no disappointment.
Omg the best champagne and chicken food event ever! 2nd time my husband and I attend and we look forward to going every year!
Unique restaurant setting as all the chefs are culinary students and they make a lot of innovative dishes. With the open kitchen setting you could see the chefs working and on the side there is even a small museum of culinary. Food was gorgeous (I couldn't recall anything I didn't care for) and the value is definitely beyond imagination. Worth multiple visits.
If you have never been to Kendall College it is a must see for your bucket list. The experience alone is worth it...not to mention the exquisite food and service. The view over the city is also noteworthy. Definitely a restaurant for any special event!!!
My daughter graduated from here. And the few times I dined there was outstanding!!
The students are always producing above average dinners.
Food was fabulous and the host, Bob, was very knowledgeable about our wine and the food. We really enjoyed talking to him. The beef tenderloin with the oxtail and the cornbread dessert are two of the best meals/desserts I’ve ever eaten. Well done students!!
Kendall College Dining room is a hidden diamond in the City of Chicago. I promise you will go once and come back to share the experience with others. I did.
The quality of food,presentation,and casual elegance, makes this my new favorite place to dine. White table clothes and a staff that use a crumb scrapper to tidy your table. Allow two hours for lunch and two and a half for dinner. We had the winter menu. The rissoto and scallops for 1st course for lunch. Then the duck and grassfed beef for 2nd course. Delicious. I had read about the eggplant meatballs in other reviewer and returned the next night for the dinner menu just to try them. The eggplant meatballs were served on the best polenta I have ever had. My husband had venison on top of a lentil puree. The color of pureed lentils didnt seem apealing at first, but the taste so made up for it. I haven't even mentioned the desserts. You will just have to go yourself. I don't believe you will be disappointed.
What a wonderful first-time experience and a great opportunity for the students of Kendall College. We will be back!

The best rapport qualité prix of CHICAGO ! The food is delicious, people are adorable and don’t do too much like on other restaurants, no noise , no loud music like everywhere , no air conditioning... for French people it is the best !
No better value in Chicago than lunch at Kendall -- $22 for a three-course gourmet meal with a glass of wine.
Excellent good with great service as the students learn the nuances of fine dining. The flavors are always wonderful as the student create new dishes. The servers are attentive without being over hearing. If you listen carefully, you can hear the staff overseeing the students impart restaurant wisdom and tricks of the trade to the students.
Go there while you still can ! It’s a delightful dining adventure.
As always, the food is delicious and beautifully plated, the views of the city and the kitchen are equally terrific, and the staff is consistently friendly. The only hiccups we experienced were due to delays. In the past, orders for all three courses were placed at once. At our most recent experience, we were told that dessert selections would be taken after we had finished our main course. There was a bit of delay with the order and receipt of dessert. Far more troubling was the delay in getting our bill. After a lengthy wait, we were told the credit card machine was not working and then we proceeded to wait at least 40 additional minutes. We ended our 6:00 pm meal at 9:00 pm; not ideal for a Tuesday evening.
This was a great and delicious experience showcasing the talents of the students (and the instructors that assist them). The dining room has a high scale, classy ambiance - besides the museum of the historical devices used in prior centuries of preparing foods, which was enlightening. Not to mention the clear glass where you can see the students preparing meals. We had selected the Prix Fixe luncheon menu and ordered a "Chef Special" which was a "surf and turf" plate of steak and Ahi tuna as the primary course. The first course consisted of Chili Chicken Schnitzel which was a pleasant, delightful surprise of the various flavors (was unsure how the Olive relish, soy honey glaze would combine), not to mention that this could have been a meal in itself. The Ahi tuna and steak main course was a generous portion of both. The tuna melted in your mouth and the steak had a great flavor with the button mushrooms and the "seaweed" garnish sauces (blend of spinach and beet? puree). The dessert was a raspberry souffle with Grand Marnier sauce which was light and airy and incredible. The only OK portion of the meal was that the chocolate cookie that accompanied the dessert was a bit crisp and hard to "cut" with the spoon. Had this been softer/chewy, it would have been perfect. Needless to say, this meal had completely satisfied my hunger that I was able to have a VERY LIGHT dinner. My compliments to the chefs and wait staff for the delightful experience!
Very innovative menu and we are supportive of the unique business model by having culinary students as chefs and leverage on the college facility for the overall dining experience. Value is awesome in terms of food quality/selection and prices. If we live nearby we would go much more often. Strongly recommended to people living in the city of Chicago and in North suburbs.
Lunch here is always a pleasant and relaxing experience! Great value. And enjoyable to meet the students, hearing something of their story and their plans and hopes for the future.
Lovely Staff. The food is delicious and the prix fixe is an incredible deal. Eggplant meatballs were amazing. All the food was delicious.

The Kendall College Dining Room was wonderful! The food was delicious and affordable, especially with the prix fixe that was offered. It was the perfect meal right before catching an improv show at The iO Theater. I will definitely be coming back.
I brought my 11 year old son for a date night with mom. We had a wonderful time. I asked for a table by the kitchen. He was mesmerized watching all of the action. We had a wonderful evening. My son has a loose tooth and they were very accommodating with his meal. He enjoyed everything. Overall great time

Outstanding experience. Wonderful food. The waiter was a little slow in refills and did not seem to know the dishes that were being prepared, even the basics, involving them. Other than that it was truly and amazing experience.
Absolutely love Kendall College, top notch meal for a great price. There were five of us and we all ordered different dishes - everyone was impressed!
Attended the Monday night series w/wine pairings. A great effort by all to pull this off and focus on the theme. Bob the wine director was knowledgeable & entertaining. The food was creative & interesting. Excellent bread!!! From the table servers, you could tell they were learning & not quite polished. The tables were beautifully set & room had a good vibe. An overall excellent experience, I will be back!

The service was excellent. The hospitality students were very attentive. Kendall dining room charges a reasonable $15 corkage fee. However, glasses of house wine are also available. The food was terrific and the presentation was impressive. Overall, good value and highly recommended.
Everything we at was wonderful and so flavorful. It was lovely and a fantastic value. My spouse is a foodie and this was his Christmas gift from my daughters and me.
The food was so beautiful & the taste was even better.
In addition to our 3 courses the chefs sent out tastes of various items. All were wonderful.
Took my 91 mother to experience the wonderful Kendall College that I have been going to for years. 100 stars on the greatness of this experience received!
I almost hate to write this review because if too many people discover this hidden gem, we may not be able to get in again! This blew us away and we dine out a lot. If it was just the excellent food and service, that would be enough. But this is on-the-job training for the culinary and hospitality students. It is so well done it is like choreography. These students are obviously studying under the best of instructors. Try to get a table near the kitchen window (an entire wall) to watch what is going on. It's very entertaining to see how it all comes together. Three courses plus an amuse for $29! It almost feels wrong to pay so little for such a great experience. And we loved that the tips go to a scholarship fund. We're hooked and kicking ourselves that it took so long for us to finally go as we had heard great things about it for years.
What a gem ! This site is staffed by culinary students under the watchful eye of an expert chef and should be in the radar for local diners. Great city views, high end menu choices offered at a very affordable prix fixe menu, a dining room with acoustics to support conversation, and the opportunity to support training of a workforce we all appreciate. And free parking!
