L. Woods Tap and Pine Lodge
Everything was excellent
A favorite spot of ours. Kids off school and decided to treat ourselves to so comfort food!
We usually go to dinner here, but went for lunch on MLK Day. Tried a new appetizer that was a special - mozzarella sticks with spinach inside - they were really good! Also had curds which are always good. Ordered the full slab of ribs, and they are always done so well with a crispy edge. We had just enough room to share a piece of key lime pie, which is really good because it's not too tart. A great meal!
We eat at L. Woods several times a year, and the North Woods Wisconsin Lodge atmosphere is terrific. The food is always good, but the service is very, very SLOW MOTION.
I specially mentioned that we were celebrating my mom’s 70th birthday and there was NO mention of anything! Horrible
I love L woods and have been going there for many years. The spinach finger appetizer was delicious as well as the house salad and tomato bisque. They brought my mother in law a complementary dessert for her birthday which was very nice. My only complaint was that my filet was very overdone and I asked them to redo do it which they did without incident. However when I received the replacement It was definitely underdone. Maybe they undercooked it to overcompensate for the one that was underdone. My husbands beef ribs were so delicious as well as my mother in-laws salmon. I just was unhappy with the filet and I wish I received the medium I requested from the beginning.
It would be hard to believe that there is someone who has not yet been to L Woods yet. It is a great place for a family gathering. There is a large menu of comfort food, and it's all tasty. The rooms look like a north woods cabin, so they are naturally dark. It does not help that in the early evening they dim the lights so that it is hard to see the food. It is hardly a place for romance so I wish they would stop that.
Also, the aisles are a bit narrow, so if you stand up to go to the restroom, try not to knock into anyone. The place is always crowded.
We had a variety of foods in our party of 6, from filet medallions, a turkey burger, beef ribs, and their special that night, fried chicken. Everyone was happy with their meal.
Our server was delightful, but the same thing happened there that happened recently at every other restaurant we have been to lately. The server gets to be too busy when you are ready for dessert or your check or both, and the last part of the evening drags out way too long. This is frustrating and puts a damper on the evening.
Always top quality. From food to service it’s the best.
Rough outing, inattentive service at best, forgetful though pleasant staff, unclean bathrooms with used paper towels making their way into the dining/bar area, “medium” filet that was definitely well-done, sadly going to be a hard pass next time.
We were So pleased with the food and service for my sons birthday celebration. Big kudos to our server and the staff, always on point!
Our waiter was picking up crumbs and dirty dishes off other tables and should be washing his hands before touching things being served to other tables. The server at the table next to us was explaining the menu and talking about the preparation and seasoning ect we would have preferred him ( he has long dark hair and a beard). When we finished our bread, it was taken by the busman in a quick walk by without offering more. It wasn’t the best service but at least this time the food was hot.
The food has always been good at L.Woods , the ribs are always good as are the burgers.
Great food. Best tasting beef ribs I have had in years. Very accommodating service. Just perfect.
Salmon came out raw and cold but the waiter was quick to apologize and correct the error waiter was super nice knowledgeable and interactive
Great food, great service.
L Woods never disappoints. Good and service always good
It was my sons Birthday, put candles on cheese cake and charged for the cheesecake. We have celebrated birthdays at this restaurant in the past and they have present a free dessert to the birthday person. Charged me for coffee but never brought it. They did take it off the bill after mentioning it.
Two members of my party ordered ribs, in the past give those eating ribs were given hot towels after the meal not this time.
It was the worst service at this restaurant I have ever had. I will go back but was disappointed with the service, which is usually excellent.
yummy yummy yummy!!!
My family and I have been visiting this restaurant since its opening long ago.
It is probably our favorite restaurant ... for the whole package that it offers ...
really good food and excellent service.
The Lettuce Entertainment restaurants in general offer many customer
friendly benefits, like their November/December gift cards and bonus
cards. I can't think of another restaurant chain that treats its customers
Congratulations and continued success.
Very much enjoyed our dinner there, and the food and service were excellent. I would downgrade the experience because it was frustrating to wait over 20 minutes to get our "reserved" table.
Ordered the Friday night perch fish special. We have had this numerous time but this time the fish filets were so thin and small you could not taste the fish. Very disappointing
This is always a great spot for lunch in the burbs. We love the chopped salad and creamed spinach. The special chicken pot pie was very good too. Our server was very kind. We’ve known him a long time. I appreciated that he asked how my aunt was doing, even though she hasn’t been there in 7 months.
My husband had the back ribs without sauce and he was disappointed. Beef ribs were outstanding! And pike is delicious!!
Great, great, great
Food is always good...our waitress was outstanding. I think her name was Claire or something similar
Our dinner was delicious: the steak had a good sear, and both it and the brisket were nice and tender. We enjoyed our sides, too--au gratin potatoes and the baked beans that came with the Tuesday brisket special (those had a good, smoky flavor). The classic old-fashioned was nicely spirits-forward.
Celebrated to birthdays, our server was very generous and we had a special event.
very good all thanks.
Birthday celebration for my husband. Everyone enjoyed their choice and the server was very friendly and professional. It’s a pretty consistent experience and that’s why we return.
Went for brunch and was very disappointed.
Three items on the menu , so our group all ended up ordering off regular menu. We were all very underwhelmed.
We went as a REDOfor our anniversary;although we didn’t tell the restaurant. We had gone elsewhere & were EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED @ the other place
Sandy B — our waitress was endearing... asked us several times if our dinner was alright... did we need anything.
She made our evening special; as does the atmosphere & food.
We will be back for our anniversary as well as many other meals.
Food was so so way overpriced for what you get $16 for a brisket sandwich the size of a Whitecastle and only one side! How do you say Rip off!
Possibly best burger I’ve ever had!
Amber’s service was very attentive! Just great! Again.
Food was really good. Beef ribs were delicious so was the double baked potato. Mac n cheese was good but green beans were just ok.
Very food food wait time was bad cause we had 8:15 she kept serving others over our Reservation and did get seated until 840 out time was 8:15 know supper busy. Very yummy my favorite for bbq and will be back
We had a wonderful dinner, entertaining friends visiting from London. We so appreciated the hostess fulfilling our request for a semi-circle booth in the main dining room!
Waitress was very good.
Since moving to Skokie, L. Woods has quickly become our favorite restaurant in all of Chicago...and that includes the pricey ones. No other restaurant makes such consistently delicious dishes, or has the unique ambience of this establishment.
