We celebrated my wife’s birthday here. We had great meals, wonderful service and a lovely time.
Food was amazing! Service was great! Thank you 🤩
We had a great time. Great service, delicious pasta and seafood and great drinks. We were delighted to have live music during our meal. Quite a treat and we will return!
We came to listen to our friends...the Lily Alunan Trio, hence they medium noose level. excellent food and ambiance
Lovely little restaurant. Very nice menu, reasonably priced. We both had the Poulet aux Champignons and it was delicious!
And happily it was quiet enough for my girlfriend and I to chat.
Nice ambience and Food !!
This small bistro provides a consistent menu choice that includes unique specials and good variety of food choices. All dinners have been enjoyable and provide filling portions. It is always a treat for a quite dinner out!
Service below average at best and food tasted less than average. Not close to any authentic French nor Italian food. Definitively will not visit or be taken again.
I visited for Valentine’s Day with my girlfriend and the restaurant was packed, but the Owner Hasan, and our waiter still took amazing care of us.
Must visit if you live in Mountain View or one of the surrounding areas!!
I love their food. Good price nice and cozy place.
Everyone on the staff was very nice even on a busy night. We just didn't feel the food was worth the price. I'm usually willing to pay $90+ for a price fixe meal (3 courses with a drink included doesn't seem bad!) but the food in this case disappointed us. Maybe because they were so busy? The crab ravioli was very rich but enjoyable. The tomato sauce on the eggplant appetizer was tasty! But the scallops were kind of fishy, and my dining mate received a large 16oz steak that ended up being really gristly--it was seemingly cooked fine, but seems like they didn't have a great source for the beef and perhaps tried to make up for it in volume? And unfortunately the tiramisu was pretty dry. Ultimately an only OK experience that left us wishing we'd gone for something more satisfying for the price that night.
Restaurant was great and we enjoyed evening with good meal and service! Very recommend!
First time there and found it to be very nice! The servers and service were very good! Smiles and attentive! The food was good but not great! It is nice place to be able to have a conversation too.
Love this place. Great menu, excellent food, and really lovely services, always. My favorite restaurant in Mountain View.
La Fontaine is a little gem that my wife and I recently discovered. The menu includes French and Italian entrées that are reasonably priced. We tried the Salmon Wellington and Lamb Risotto. Both were delicious. The restaurant is quiet with a nice ambience.
Our party of 5 has adopted La Fontaine as our pre-theatre spot, after trying a number of different restaurants on Castro Street with mixed results. La Fontaine has an extensive "continental" menu, with a wide array of beef, chicken, fish, pasta, etc. For fine dining on a Thursday evening on Castro Street, this is most definitely the place to go. Wouldn't call it "quiet", but the noise level is very tolerable. The cocktails are excellent -- they don't seem to use pre-mixes. And the service is exceptional. I wish I knew the name of our server on the most recent visit --- she was one of the best EVER.
The servers were very helpful and attentive. The food was very delicious and priced reasonably. The goat cheese appetizer was divine and the grilled salmon had a nice crusted skin. Our party also enjoyed the risotto and angel hair capellini (especially the sauce). It was a nice restaurant for business lunch and we had a quiet corner with a street view all to ourselves. Added bonus: Tiramisu was really really delicious! Thanks for a great hospitality. Highly recommending this place
This is the best service I've received in a restaurant in the Bay Area in many, many years. Highly professional!!!
The restaurant was kind enough to take us early so ce we arrived sooner than anned. The service was great as was the food. We had the Branzino, lamb chops and the linguini with prawns. It was nice to see a french/italian menu with variety. The room became a little noisy towards the end of the meal as the restaurant filled up but not enough to ruin the experience.
Service is very friendly, attentive and accommodating. Food and wine are excellent. I usually get the Cordon bleu.
Good food and good service. We had the beef Wellington, orechiette, crab cakes, and frisee salad and all were tasty. Do be aware that the beef Wellington is a bit bloody.
I love the food and the service is outstanding! This is a great restaurant for a night out on the town!
The best thing I took from our experience at LaFontaine was the exceptional service.
Food is always good. What I love most is how they engage children to have a good experience at the restaurant.
As always, food, wines, and service were excellent.
The food and service were great.
My wife and I were in town on business and sought a place for dinner. We were delighted by the quality of our experience. Outstanding on all counts!
Meeting with 5 friends to dine together before attending Smuin Ballet Christmas Performance at Mt. View CPA. The service was fast and polite. It was quiet enough for us to talk together and enjoy each other’s company. The food choices were good and tasty though not quite gourmet quality. This is a great venue for dining before CPA performances.
Excellent menu choices.
Veal Saltimbocca, Sole and Prawns, Bruschetta and Lava Cake were delicious. Service is excellent.
First - the prices were considerably higher than the menu shown on Open Table. I had numerous choices for Italian food that evening; I chose La Fontaine because its prices were lower than other similarly-rated restaurants. Not that it is a bad restaurant, it's actually pretty good. But it felt like false advertising.
We had the Beef Wellington. It was delicious, but... the whole idea here is that the meat was supposed to be wrapped in a puff pastry, and it wasn't. $38 for a ribeye on mashed potatoes is a bit pricey. For that price, we expected a treat -Puff pastry!
Our salad was good - our server generously split it for us. Our companions ordered separate salads, but only one was delivered. (Fortunately, we were not charged for it.)
Other than the salad issue, our service was excellent. My only complaint, here, is that prices are high for what you actually get.
Excellent food and setting
The food at La Fontaine was good but not excellent. We had a very pleasant evening there, though, and the service was very nice.
Restaurant is fine, just kind of “meh”. Food was OK, it kind of felt like they are rushing us through the courses and pushing us to finish and leave, which was kind of disappointing.
This was our second time visit to LaFontaine. We ha such good vibes from our first visit we thought we would visit a second time. Met all our expectations once again.
The food and restaurant were excellent, but the waiter, Dumond really made the evening! He should run a school to teach people how to be good waiters!
They lamb was superb
The service was great but the food was mediocre at best..
Wonderful food but no one else in the restaurant for lunch. Surprising!!!
Italia in Mountain View. Nice menu and a lovely red wine.
