La Posta has done an excellent job creating a COVID19-friendly outdoor dining experience, with romantic ambiance and heat, in the rear parking lot. As usual, the food and service were very good to excellent. I would prefer they discontinue use of paper plates and plastic wine cups and offer more than two red wines by the "glass". I opted to bring my own bottle and pay corkage. Overall, a lovely experience.
Food at La Posta has always been good, I think with Covid is just challenging time all around.
Such deliciousness every time we are able to eat here. Something special. ❤️
everything was so delicious!!!
love that you still do neighborhood night.
we appreciate it!
like that we can bring our own dishware
Atmosphere impacted by Covid. The restaurant is doing what they can.
Wonderful as usual! A little chilly but expected.
I love La Posta and they’re doing such a wonderful job of creating a safe place for us to eat and delicious food !
Because of the pandemic they’re using plastic cups and bamboo plates and silverware I do recommend that you do what we did and bring your own wine glasses and silverware it makes things nicer. But love love love the experience tonight
Lovely outdoor patio, good food, excellent service.
It did get chilly may need more heat lamps. - we had a 5 pm reservation. - we know it’s difficult- maybe if they were close to the tables?
Very disappointed to have food & drink served on paper plates and plastic wine glasses. And to have to walk right by a trash can full of used plates on the way in and out. It was very dark - ambient light level was poor. Also no wine list provided- had to look in the dark at a board at the entrance.
Feel the Restaurant Week menu missed the mark on encouraging us to return for a delicious meal later.
2nd time here. I loved the outside ambiance. Wish the by the glass menu was more extensive or there was cocktails. I’ll definitely be back. Food was delish. My guest and I are also gluten free.
I have eaten here before and loved it. This time not so much. The outside patio was great! They should keep it. Waiter was not so great. Failed to mention water was bottled only - ok not too expensive. Wine was ridiculously pricey and they use plastic cups. Some how others are managing glass and real plates/ cutlery. Also poor descriptors of dishes. My main dish basically had the same salad as my salad. The others enjoyed the soup. The desserts were fabulous
The food was amazing, staff was very friendly and helpful, and COVID-19 safety protocols were spot-on. I felt very safe dining here on the pretty patio. Just remember to bring your own nice silverware and cloth napkin since disposable ones are now being used for sanitary reasons!
The outdoor dining scene was great and felt very safe, well managed and comfortable. The parking lot setting was nicely done so it really did not feel like a parking lot once seated. We brought our own silverware and napkins - wished we had brought glasses too as they were using plastic glasses for water and wine. Overall a wonderful evening out!
Food and service excellent, as always. We also dined outdoors in Pacific Grove the night before and Monterey the night after, where both restaurants provided glassware, dishes and metal utensils. Although we respect La Posta’s operational decisions during the pandemic, the totally disposable tableware was a disappointment. Flimsy plastic glasses do not do justice to nice Italian wines.
This was our first restaurant experience since covid began, so it's been almost 8 months! We felt entirely comfortable and safe. Servers are masked, tables are spaced more than 6 feet apart in a lovely outdoor setting. Following La Posta's recommendation, we brought our own glassware and cutlery to celebrate my husband's birthday. They served our delicious meal on disposable (compostable) plates. My taglioli housemade pasta with rock shrimp was perfectly cooked, light yet rich and satisfying. My husband's savory cannoli with butternut squash and ricotta and sage was sumptuous. Our prosecco and a recommended Italian red wine (Sanna) were great accompaniments, as were our starters, a generous, perfectly dressed salad of Little Gem lettuce with shaved parmesan, and fantastic arancini. For dessert, I had the refreshing and wonderful housemade coconut stratiatella ice cream, while my husband enjoyed a dark, smooth bittersweet chocolate tart ("best I've ever tasted," he said). We are so happy that La Posta is serving dinners outside. All very good, with heat lamps providing extra comfort.
Next time I'll bring my own napkin, fork and knife...plastic ones broke in my hand...
Great food amazing service. we got there at the end of the night and we were able to score the last two quarters of bread. Best bread in town.
It was the best Italian style meal I’ve had in my 4 years visiting Santa Cruz, hands down. A huge step up from what’s available in town and this is a restaurant that should be frequented and supported in COVID.
Outstanding saffron fettuccini with lamb.
Perfection! Wonderful chef, thank you!
Loved it so much had to get one to go and had it the next evening at home.
Super find! We plan to return. Thank you for a great relaxing night with fresh delicious food.
As always, food and wine were fantastic. Outdoor seating was very comfortable. Only dissatisfaction was the paper and plastic, we did not expect that as we have been dining out quite a bit and have not been served without silver and glassware except for take out.
Always love coming here! Food was wonderful as always. They were also very vigilant about spacing everyone out so no one sat beside another party, which was good considering the virus.
I came in to give my business to a valued local restaurant. Seating for most of the evening was a careful 6ft distance to support social distancing. Service was attentive, warm, and grateful for the business. The raviolini in walnut sauce was excellent and the suggested wine pairings were perfect.
Such a great local getaway. Good wines and good food.
This restaurant has always been a favorite and we brought friends here that night who have never been, they'll be back as well!
Creative, fresh seasonal dishes. Excellent service. A Santa Cruz favorite.
Delicious every time. Wonderful for a small celebration.
Great staff. Food was interesting and innovative but taste levels were a bit subdued. Definitely would try it again
Great music on Tuesday nights. Excellent Italian dishes.
I like that La Posta has stayed close to modern Italian style on the menu. And their Bolognese is almost as good as fine.
One of our favorite restaurants whenever in town. Food is always spectacular with excellent wine list even if small. Order take home bread Friday’s and Saturday’s.
Excellent dinner!
We go here very frequently. It’s our favorite place in Santa Cruz. The food is consistently and I mean consistently a 10 on a scale of 1-10. If you only had one place you could go when in Santa Cruz this should be your pick.
Very much enjoyed a Prix Fixe Valentine dinner with the wife.
Various items including the Pork pate, Octopus, Ganache, and the desserts were over the top. I couldn't
have been more happy with the item, the service, and the presentation.
Decided to walk on the wild side and forgo my usually monster red and instead went with the Wine Pairing. What a delightful and enlightening experience. I found myself drinking both whites and roses,
and when properly paired, were excellent.
I recommend without hesitation La Posta.
Excellent Valentines Day menu, food was amazing, wine list was great, service was on point, atmosphere was excellent.
Their special Valentines dinner was excellent - my wife and I got two of the three purchase fixed options for each course and everything was great!
As usual, great food!
Great restaurant, fantastic food, especially the bread!!!
Birthday treat for spouse.
