LB Steak - Santana Row
Our food was was very good. Our experience was not so good. We were seated right in front of the kitchen access/egress for the wait staff. There was very little room between our table and the table on the other side of the waiter's walkway. This created a bottleneck where there was always someone looming over our table. There was always someone either waiting to pass or passing our table. Our waiter was constantly having to move while taking our order.
The constant congestion made our meal quite uncomfortable.
The service and ambiance was amazing. The food was not worth the price. My salmon was very dry and SALTY and my husbands wagyu steak was also extremely salty. They have a great wine selection.
Wonderful Birthday dinner! Great steak, side and dessert
We had a great experience at LB. It was my daughter’s birthday. Our server was really patient and the food was excellent. It only complaint was the noise level in the room with the fireplace. It was full and everyone was talking in full volume.
Our server was awesome and food excellent!
Great aged rib eye steak, cooked perfectly. No need for too many side dishes, was there for the steak.

I have been to this restaurant a couple of times. Food and ambiance was great and had another nice experience.
We went to this restaurant for the first time Jan 11th to celebrate my husbands birthday. It was a disappointing experience. When we arrived we had to wait for our table, and then to be seated right outside the kitchen door right in the path of all the server staff. Our request to be reseated meant a wait of another 25 minutes or so in a truly packed waiting area. Tables are on top of each other and staff could not get between then in some places to get by, and noise level as a result was excessive. The food and wine was excellent and our server was helpful and attentive. However, will not be back as the overall experience was not worth the price tag.

We were pretty disappointed with our experience at LB Steak. When we made the reservation we made a note that it was a Birthday and we asked for a booth. We arrived and our table was ready which was good. The host came off as quite pretentious and he asked who had the birthday. When we told him and he said Happy Birthday. This was the extent of the Birthday from LB Steak. Our server was good, the food was good albeit under cooked for what we ordered. We had to ask for beverages and bread which was disappointing. $160 for two steaks, no mixed drinks and being seated in a table near in the center of the room was also below expectation. Lastly the room was very loud. Lots of loud parties winding down from the football game. Not what we expected in a high end place like this. I seriously doubt that we would return or reccomend LB Steak. We did not feel as if they cared for our business.
Great steak cooked to perfection. Latte was very good. LB potatoes were very rich and delicious. The bread is cold not warm a bit of a con and the noise in our area was very loud hard to hear and talk.
We had the reservation for 2 on Friday night. We had the last table near the door and it was cold. We asked to move insider of the place and they told us that they used all tables for the larger groups. The place was VERY noisy and I had a hard time to hear my friend. We had much better experiences before but not this time.
I was a bit disappointed. They were out of a couple of items, and of course that’s what we wanted. The food was well prepared, however all the entries we cold. Since they were all equally cold, I have to assume the server didn’t pick it up when it was done. LB won’t be my go to steak house.

Amazing in every way!

Steak as main dish was not hot. I guess it was left for a while after grilling.
We try to eat here when we come to visit our son. This restaurant NEVER disappoints!!

Awesome and gorgeous steakhouse in the Bay
I had never been to LB Steak in San Jose and was looking forward to eating there, despite the distance.
My wife and I went there for lunch. Prior to being served, we were offered a variety of excellent breads with herb butter. I ordered the French dip sandwich with French fried potatoes and Iced tea. She ordered the shrimp and crab cobb salad.
Unfortunately, my sandwich was served on a very hard roll and the beef was of just average quality, beneath my expectations for a well-known steak house. Moreover, the French fries were way too salty. However, the waiter took them away and brought back a new order that was lightly salted. My wife's salad was outstanding in every way except for the lemon dressing which she thought was too sour.
Additionally, I thought the service, the cleanliness, the ambience, and my iced tea were excellent!
Happy Hour started the evening - and a must!! Entertained by bartender who engaged our group with excellent culinary and libation advice; stories of past, holiday celebration at LB Steak; and dining recommendation. All cuts of steaks were as ordered, sumptuous, and not needing any other sauce - though I got green peppercorn, which balanced flavors of filet mignon. Sides are a must that are family style. Imagine a culinary steakhouse with onion rings?! LB Steak ensured the common side had dips that were extraordinary - blue cheese and tomato-y ketchup. LB Signature potatoes (similar to scalloped) that had its own sides of chopped bacon and chives - yummy! - was another side. Scallops presented as if it were 'ribs' by planting sliced beets rolled next to each scallop. Visionary and arty describe the LB Steak experience, which would be an excellent choice for celebrations.
LB is well appointed and situated in the beautiful Santana Row. While it’s a nice place- the food for us didn’t live up to the premium price tag.
All of the steaks we ordered were cooked further than we’d requested, made more noticeable by our sauces being forgotten (we flagged down our waitress down, but it took a bit). We also couldn’t be totally sure after a few bites, but we’re pretty sure that 2 of the steaks were given to the wrong people (6oz vs. 8 oz).
The sides were good and the wine was great- and I’m sure when this place is firing on all cylinders it’s awesome, but if we’re paying a premium, we just need the basics nailed, even for a weekday lunch.

Great place to go on a date or with close friends. Always have a great dinner and service is impeccable. Ozzie was awesome too!

Quiet, as there weren't many people there on a Sunday btwn Christmas and New Years. Steaks were the most tender I've ever had. My husband had the filet mignon with the lobster bisque and I had the boneless rib eye with a wedge salad. We shared sides--sauted mixed mushrooms and potatoes au gratin. The potatoes were fabulous. This place is pricey; about $220 (with tip) for a dinner for two with one bar drink and an ice tea. We had a giftcard that made this meal possible. I'd love to go back, but will have to save this for special occasions only, as we can't afford to eat here on a regular basis.
Everyone enjoyed their food and we had food from most areas of the menu. Service was great and wait time for food was short

My dear friend just turned 91 so we wanted to celebrate his bday as well as the holidays. We shared a delicious ribeye steak, potatoes and mushrooms. After dinner my friend was honored with a scrumptious dessert. With outstanding service throughout the evening it’s was a wonderful way to celebrate. Thank you!

Plan to make it a 3-4 hour lunch. It took about 20 minutes to find parking and 15 mins to get out of parking garage. Server had a big party and focused his energy there. I had to ask for beverage refills, never received bread after asking twice and had to ask for check.

Such a lovely restaurant. Service was wonderful. Food was just ok. Sautéed Kale was almost inedible as it was super salty. Au Gratin potatoes were burned on the bottom. My medium steak was more medium rare. Appetizers were nice - prawns and calamari tasty. Just wished for a better experience given how pricey it is.

The steak was fair at best. It was the dry aged ribeye. The fries and onion rings were good.
